I think Corral will have a chance to beat out Sam in training camp, but they won’t force the issue.

I am excited again about the future. Fitt and Morgan absolutely nailed free agency and the draft so far. Offensive line is solidified, we have a potential franchise QB in Corral despite being drafted in the third round, he has so much upside. We need to add some depth now but… The remaining weak link is Matt Rhule. As long as he is the head coach, this team will continue to struggle. He is over his skis when it comes to game planning and his ra ra approach falls flat with grown professionals in the NFL. That said Ben McAdoo provides some relief as a coordinator who can develop the new QB and potentially take over as an interjm head coach if needed.

It has to be because Rhule is desperate to win now while Fitt and others are willing to build the right way

Browns want a 2nd round pick for Mayfield
-
This would suck so bad. I would rather roll with Darnold

Mel Kiper Jr thinks they were awesome

It goes back to the power dynamic. Last year, Fitt was lower on the pole and executed what Rhule wanted.

REPORT: Robby Anderson available for trade
NAS replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I would trade our remaining draft picks this year and Robby Anderson for another 2nd round pick this year. -

Send him to Green Bay -
Not without trading some existing assets.

NFL.com: A Analysis: It's easy to love Ekwonu because he is a beast in the run game (both in the box and downfield against smaller defenders in space) and has the agility, anchor and length to hold off NFL-caliber edge rushers. The Panthers fill a major need with the former N.C. State star. He will help whichever quarterback competes with Sam Darnold for the starting gig in the fall and can lead the way for RB Christian McCaffrey. Sporting News: A The Panthers chose to pass on a quarterback and that decision was made easier by having their pick between Ekwonu and Evan Neal. Scott Fitterer circles back to address Carolina’s biggest need by looking right down the road to Raleigh for a strong, powerful but also very athletic force to form bookends with Taylor Moton. The Panthers’ QB course of action this year might be instead adding veteran competition for Sam Darnold. CBS Sports: B+ The Panthers played spinning tops at left tackle last year, so getting a tackle was a no brainer in this draft. I liked Evan Neal more, but I get this choice. Ekwonu needs to work on his pass protection some, but he is fixable. Sports Illustrated: A The Panthers’ two biggest needs heading into the draft were offensive tackle and quarterback. Instead of reaching for a quarterback, they get their choice of offensive tackle and keep Ekwonu in North Carolina. Ekwonu is arguably the best run-blocking offensive lineman in this draft and over the past few drafts. Powerful at the point of attack with his nimble feet and movement skills, Ekwonu has been dubbed “Mr. Pancake” (due to the volume of his pancake blocks). Even though he occasionally oversets in pass protection, he possesses the traits, intelligence and character that should allow him to continue to make significant strides in that aspect. Fox Sports: A - The Panthers were thought likely to trade out of this selection given that the club is not scheduled to select again until the fourth round. However, with their choice of the top-rated tackles available, the club fortified its front with the Ekwonu, whose blend of size, agility and power projects beautifully all across the line. While a tad shorter than most like at tackle, Ekwonu is functionally bigger than his 6-4 height suggests due to his extraordinary wingspan. Providing Sam Darnold with better protection (and anticipating a healthy 2022 season from Christian McCaffrey) gives the club its best chance to compete immediately. Ekwonu is the second local prospect selected in the first round by Carolina, with the club nabbing South Carolina cornerback Jaycee Horn a year ago

Grew up a Panthers fan, how awesome is that!

Great pick

The overpraise of Matt Rhule today is the ultimate kiss of death. Rhule will be fired if he doesn't have a winning season coming up.

I found it interesting that Tepper deferred many of the personnel questions around the draft and free agency to Fitterer. It seems to me that Fitt is having an increasing role, if not fully controlling the roster. Matt Rhule may still have final say but I think Fitt has more influence and leadership going forward than last year.

Who is the second best tackle/left tackle in franchise history?
NAS replied to Proudiddy's topic in Carolina Panthers
Pretty depressing topic. Aside from Jordan Gross they all were very mediocre and sucked at times. Bell, Steussie, Oher, Chandler? They all had me pulling my hair out for way too many games. There is a direct correlation between having a good offensive line and sustained success in the NFL. -
On the first post, created by the account @panthers.way, Anderson commented “Nooooo” in response to the details of Rapoport’s report. The account @panthersnat1on then posted his reply with the caption “Robby has ZERO chill” to which Anderson replied, “Facts.” https://www.si.com/nfl/2022/04/15/robby-anderson-weighs-in-possible-baker-mayfield-panthers-trade

Kyler Murray deal in Arizona getting very interesting.

But, but... Rhule can fix him -
Given that we wasted the second round pick on Darnold, we should definitely trade back
