I think it was easy to infer from Tepper that he really wanted them to draft a QB but Rhule convinced him he could work with Darnold.
-
Haha this did not age well, and it was only a few weeks ago. Rhule officially has the status of a snake oil salesman.
-
Rhule sold us snake oil

Would you be upset if Rhule left this week to go to LSU?

My interest in this team is at an all time low

You’re not alone OP -
I believe he was hurt on a play where he got stuffed in the backfield by a 300 lb defensive tackle. That doesn't happen if he's a wide receiver so that's where he should play when he returns.
-
Here here. He would be deadly as a receiver and still worth the money we pay him.

Please God let it be true -
Especially when the Head Coach was give final control of the roster. Fitt did his job

That has to be historically bad

Cam Newton should be done as a starting QB in this league

I cautioned about getting too hyped about Cam even when he performed well. Look up history -

Everything. It’s not about one game overreacting, Cam just can’t physically do it anymore. -

Yep, and I don’t think it’s all Cam’s fault, most of the problems aren’t, but he just can’t be a starter anymore -

You seriously comparing a 24 year old Lamar in his prime with no history of shoulder injuries to Cam? You’re just delusional -

He lost his last 10 games as a Panther, and he looked yesterday like he looked most of last year with the Patriots. There's nothing to suggest that he will turn it around. Physically, he just can't make NFL throws CONSISTENTLY to be the starting QB. -
It's called "sunk cost". Tepper is a business man and hopefully knows when it's time to cut your losses. It was a $50MM gamble that didn't pay off, he'll survive.
-
There is no evidence that we should trust the process. Rhule and Brady set those expectations themselves by trading for Darnold, not drafting a QB. We have seen enough to know Rhule or Brady are not NFL caliber coaches and never will be
-
He just doesn't have the ability to throw the football anymore with any consistency. Yes - Brady sucks Yes - offensive line sucks Yes - the wide receivers can't get open consistently. You still expect your starting QB to put up better stats than 5/21, 92 yards, 0 TD, 2 INT passing. Perhaps he can still be serviceable in goal line or short yardage packages but they need to just let PJ start and draft a QB next year. Hopefully, we'll have a new coach by then too.

While I want us to clean house and start the rebuild again on the front office side, I want Tepper to keep Fitterer and Morgan and allow them significant input in selecting the next coach, and to have final say over the roster. Many will blame Fitt for signing Darnold or picking up the 5th year option, but I strongly believe those were Rhule and Brady decisions and Fitterer just did his best to make it happen. From everything I've seen he's good at what he does and should be kept around along with Dan Morgan. Do we agree on this?

He looked good early in regular season too. Wide receivers coach must really suck

5 plays analyzed from WFT game worth the watch

Cam favoring middle may have to do with not being confident in his arm to make the outside throws. -
Yes - that was a huge positive from this weekend. He may turn out to be a decent LT for years to come and allow us to draft a center and a guard next year.

I just can't believe that Tepper fell for the fast talking rah-rah stuff.
