  1. Same, anything but a first and second would be a fleecing
  2. It's a great question, I'd say the chances are pretty high. There has to be some analytics geek on here who can analyze the previous ESPN coverage of the draft to come up with the exact answer. Come on boys, get to work!
  3. 12,000 posts later and you're way past cynical when it comes to rooting for your team. It's a long ride man, just enjoy it, the pain and all
  4. One more day to go! The anticipation is almost over
  5. This may be the worst mock I've ever seen
  6. I don’t remember ever anticipating the NFL draft so much. Even when we drafted Cam I wasn’t this impatient because I knew what was coming. This draft has me counting the hours and minutes. It feels like the most consequential draft in decades. For year 2 of Rhule regime, they have to hit a homerun and take the next step towards becoming a winning franchise. There are so many unknowns. Do Panthers truly believe Darnold is the answer and draft a top LT, do they still draft a QB, maybe trade back and fill more holes on the roster? I don’t care anymore let’s fugin go!
  7. Fitt said that picks 1-16 are high level quality and after that there is a meaningful drop off. If we trade back, hopefully it’s no lower than 15 and we get picks this year and next.
  8. I don’t think he assaulted any of them, but he comes across as a loser and definitely ruined his reputation
  9. I think we’ll find out how good Fitt is at working under extreme pressure because any potential trade is going to be a quick decision based on what just happened in front of them and who went off the board.
  10. Even before he was traded, did you guys ever hear any positive things about Teddy's presence in the locker room and leadership during the season? I know there was a lot of preseason hype, but the silence was deafening towards the end of the year.
  11. He looked more dominant as a LB than Safety. Hopefully we find some depth in the draft at both positions.
  12. I just hope Jets didn't damage him permanently
  13. When did it change? Lol
  14. If they thought we wanted Lance, wouldn’t it be more logical they trade ahead of us? If we accept the trade it’s basically pointless for Denver because then they know we weren’t going to take him anyway
  15. “Trevor Lawrence deserves to be the number one pick, but after that, in my book, there’s three receivers, a tight end and two offensive tackles ahead of the next quarterback. But this desperation for quarterbacks . . .”
  16. Great article from MMQB showing just how much things have changed and importance of QBs to building a successful franchise. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/04/11/20-qb-decisions-nfl-draft-fmia-peter-king/
  17. I disagree, we lost some good players to free agency and our Oline needs a lot of work.
  18. Yes, but then you have to be willing to assume we suck again this year if we can't draft another immediate impact player at #8.
  19. I think it's a bit of both. If somehow a QB they like drops to #8 (probably unlikely), then it makes sense to pick him up. Otherwise, it's a good smoke screen to ensure one of the QB needy teams trades up and clears way for Sewell, Pitts, etc.
  20. Even after they spent three draft picks to acquire quarterback Sam Darnold in a trade with the Jets, the Panthers haven't checked the position off of their offseason to-do list. Carolina is still open to picking a quarterback with the No. 8 pick in this year's draft, according to SI's Albert Breer. The Panthers' sense of urgency to find a long-term solution at that position increased when San Francisco traded up to the No. 3 pick. The team has other needs—specifically cornerback and offensive tackle—but would still consider taking the right quarterback if he was still on the board at No. 8. General manager Scott Fitterer has a history with stockpiling at quarterback. The 47-year-old first-year GM spent two decades working with the Seahawks, both as a scout and in the front office. During his time there, he saw Seattle GM John Schneider add three quarterbacks in the 2012 offseason, all while still employing veteran starter Matt Hasselback. That year, the Seahawks traded for Charlie Whitehurst and signed Tarvaris Jackson and Matt Flynn as free agents, with Flynn signing a three-year deal worth over $20 million that many assumed meant he would be the team's new starter. Instead, the job went to the rookie the Seahawks took in the third round: Russell Wilson. The Panthers still have Teddy Bridgewater under contract, and picked up Darnold's fifth-year option following the trade. Bridgewater started 15 games for Carolina last season, throwing for 3,733 yards with 15 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Darnold completed 59.6% of his passes in 12 starts for the Jets in 2021, with 2,208 yards, nine touchdowns and 11 interceptions. https://www.si.com/nfl/2021/04/12/carolina-panthers-sam-darnold-quarterback-nfl-draft
  21. Fair. Looks like Sewell is our consensus pick, not even a debate. It’s debatable if he will drop that low or if Dolphins or Bengals snag him before us.
  22. Pitts would be so tempting because he is a generational player, but agree Sewell is our biggest need
