Stuart Smith replied to Panfan35's topic in Carolina Panthers
Because we hear that every year, some of us are getting old. -

Some of us are getting old. We are getting tired of “next year.” -

Rumor coming out of Chicago is the the Bears may trade Fields. Crazy times until the draft with all the rumors and half truths. -

When you see actual fans filling up BOA stadium you will know the fans are beginning to see hope. -
I like ke the tight end for Georgia too. He’s a hoss.

It is ok to respect the job Wilkes did and still hope for Reich to succeed. They are not mutually exclusive. The immaturity of some who comment are telling.

Fangio to Miami official....well...maybe... probably tho

I do remember reading somewhere that he impressed due to the fact he already had coaches committed to come with him. Hope that is true. -
So we gonna win the division next year with Reich?

Panthers Let the Great Be the Enemy of the Good.

“You Wilkes cult members?” You painted a lot of people with a broad brush. It is ok to realize that Wilkes deserved a chance to prove that given a chance he could have a winning team in Charlotte. It is ok for us to realize that sometimes hard work is often not rewarded the way we feel it should be. Given that, most people that supported Wilkes will still support the Panthers. However, the manner it was done will result in the fan base viewing anything less than winning the division next year will be unacceptable. We shall see. -
Will Kunkel is usually pretty accurate.

Why is mediocrity so attractive?
Stuart Smith replied to Ivan The Awesome's topic in Carolina Panthers
It is a business, I get that. Decisions have to be made that are unpleasant. Players and coaches know that. There is still a room to make these decisions with respect. -
If you want to point out his misses then you have to point out his successes. Drafting Horn, Icky, Christensen, signing Bozeman and Corbett, Mays looks like a keeper. I feel like there have been some moves that were mistakes, but every GM makes a few. Another couple of years and the further away we get from Rhule will give us a better opportunity to evaluate him.

If you do not treat people with the respect they have earned as a member of the Panthers organization it is not best for the team. You lose respect from players, fans, and anyone that follows the team. -

The sad thing about this is Wilkes has not been given a fair chance to lead a team as head coach. He took a near impossible situation and his efforts resulted in an improvement. Had we beat Tampa we would not have won a playoff game, it really exposed our weakness at CB. If we criticize the game plan and effort at Tampa we should also be as quick to give credit for the wins against Detroit and Seattle which we were not supposed to win. It was not the 6 and 6 record by Wilkes that kept us out of the playoffs, but the 1 and 4 start by Rhule . I hope before his career is over he will have a chance to coach a team with his choices of coaches and that he will have input in drafting players he likes. He deserves it. -
New Coach Thread 2: Electric Boogaloo
Stuart Smith replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think he has possibly been posturing for a bigger payday from Fox all along. If you look at the Sunday lineup for pregame on Fox some of those guys are probably about ready to pack it in. Jimmy Johnson is 79, Bradshaw 74 and poor health. He should get a bigger seat at the table, plus more money. -

No way that happens.

My humble prediction, I may be as close to nailing it as Mel Kipers draft picks. Houston: DeMeco Ryans Denver: Sean Payton Carolina: Shane Steichen i see a slight possibility for Wilkes in Carolina, but I think Tepper is hell bent on offensive coach. I hope I’m wrong. Defense still wins championships. If Tepper moves off of Wilkes as HC I see him trying to offer him a position to placate the fanbase. Just my thoughts.

In games like these it often comes down to things coaches preach all year. Penalties at crucial times, turnovers, missed field goals or extra points, etc.
-
If you go on the Houston forums they really like Ryan’s, he played there. John McClain of the Houston Chronicle is the most respected writer in Houston. He says the Texans have DeMeco Ryan’s on speed dial. Ryan’s was a linebacker for Houston from 2006-2011.

I feel like Ryan’s is the candidate Houston wants, I think he may be going there.
