  1. Lance would be my pick, if all 4 are gone a LT would be tempting....
  2. Let’s make it an even 10. We can trade another 10 for Adam’s too!
  3. Ok ok 2 first rounders, 2 second, and Boston and Whitehead. Enjoy!
  4. It looks like Mac Jones ran a 4.91 out of High School. I think Tua runs a 4.90 and people didn’t really have an issue with his scrambling ability. He just never really had pressure so he didn’t have to run at Alabama. I’m interested to see how he does in Pro Days/individual workouts...
  5. Agree with most of this aside from Kirk being one of the best. Newman/Mond in the 3rd or later could make for a cheap backup for a while while they also develop into a potential starter. The first round QB would need to be a Jones or Fields/someone ready to start sooner than a Lance and we would have also needed to have traded away Teddy. You wouldn’t want to draft a 3rd stringer in the 3rd round (5th-7th might be acceptable). The only problem I would see is is having too many holes to fill (OT, OG, MLB, QB, CB, FS, and a second DT with depth). It’s more than likely a luxury we don’t have at this moment...
  6. http://ninetynineyards.com/2020/11/18/trey-lance-scouting-report-everything-you-need-to-know/ mentions accuracy several times as a strength... https://walterfootball.com/scoutingreport2021TLance.php strengths: accurate
  7. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nfl.com/_amp/scouting-trey-lance-north-dakota-state-qb-similar-to-andrew-luck Do not get caught up in completion percentage when evaluating accuracy. Lance completed nearly 67 percent of his passes, which is impressive, but the tape showed he was even more accurate than that number indicates. His ball placement is excellent. He really trusts his eyes and throws with anticipation, which allows his receivers better opportunities to run after the catch. He can layer the ball in the middle of the field (over linebackers and under safeties) and he excels on bucket throws (deep balls over the top).
  8. 67% with 0 INTs as a red shirted freshman?
  9. I think Lance is known for his accuracy and IQ. He honestly just needs more experience and might be the best QB from this draft when it’s all said and done.
  10. He got traded where he wanted to go and will get a chance to compete for a Super Bowl. Lions got multiple first round picks and a solid QB for him. If Goff doesn’t work out, they have the picks to jump around in the upcoming drafts and get their guy. Sounds like everything worked out.
  11. Yeah he was injured. Newman would have been the starter. Smart knows if you bench high profile players that transfer, it can be bad for future transfers.
  12. Newman needs reps bad, but I feel like there is definitely talent there. Would have been interesting to see him play at UGA this past year....
  13. Would be nice to extend Moton and have Sewell with our bookends locked up for the next five years. Maybe we try to trade in late in the first to pick pick Mac Jones or sign Mitch (would be an upgrade over Teddy) to a one or two year deal.
  14. Yeah but it’s more important to see skill players work with different teammates. For example I was wanting to see Jones play against equal talent. Punters shouldn’t really look much different with different teammates as long as the ball makes it to them ok.
  15. They are just trying to showcase these players for the NFL.
  16. Banks is looking like he has some power on the line.
  17. A very valid question. The first thing I would think is athletic ability. I’ve seen Burrow escape tackles and make some incredible throws off the run under pressure. He had some great pocket awareness in college. Even in the pros with a terrible offensive line, he was playing solid until he got hurt. Jones doesn’t seem to have the speed or quickness to avoid sacks (he has never really had to). From the games I saw he was also throwing some quick passes to a wide open Smith and even his deep ones had Smith pretty open. Burrow’s throws were in tighter coverage with some insane ball placement. Jones may turn out to be great. He may show some great pocket awareness and move around to avoid pressure. If we do draft him, CMC will be a great safety net if he is under pressure. Hopefully he can stay calm and still make his throws. He has just never had to worry about many of these things in college. I think Jones is just a lot more of an unknown than Burrow. The good news is our coach is getting an up close and personal look at him in the Senior Bowl. If he thinks he is the guy, I trust his opinion for now,
  18. If we miss on other options, he might be an upgrade over Teddy for a cheaper contract.
  19. Mac Jones won’t last until the 2nd round. I’m not a fan at picking him at 8, but if it’s in the 2nd it might be worth the risk. I just don’t see him falling that far.
  20. Sign Moton long term and try to extend Miller (or another journeyman) for cheap. Draft some guards to compete in rounds 3 or later. LT is going to be the tough one... some of our backups looked serviceable last year, but we definitely need some new faces there to compete...
