The drop off when he didn’t play was huge. Even with Dalton, ho has shown to be at least serviceable at times...

Justin Fields: Closer Look/Why I think he could be the guy
ForJimmy replied to davos's topic in Carolina Panthers
I wouldn’t mind Lance because of potential, but has there been any indicator we are remotely interested in him? I feel like we want Wilson, Fields, then unfortunately Jones might be next (all assuming we don’t land Watson).- 58 replies

Report: 49ers called Panthers about Teddy Bridgewater
ForJimmy replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
If we can get a 3rd for him, I’ll be very happy. We can totally package that to move up and draft someone like Fields. Not to mention the cap savings of trading him vs cutting him.... -
Teddy Bridgewater likely on the outs in Carolina

This guy and Breakpoint (same person) will disappear when Teddy is gone. You won’t see your money. -

Taysum Hill is a TE and even he could win as the Saints QB. That team is loaded with talent even check down Teddy can win with them he already did. -

I believe he is also Sizzle. He responded on the wrong name to me once then pooed every response I had to Breakpoint. Sizzle also gets upset when we talk about getting Watson so it makes sense. -

Open your mind. If you REALLY wanted to go against the grain you would want Jimmy Clausen back as our QB. He was fine. It wasn’t his fault, his teammates weren’t as good as they needed to be. He was a good starting QB. Stop being so hung up on one below average player that only had one forgettable season for this franchise and move on because it looks like this team is. -

Shame on this mob for wanting a better QB for their team. At least the front office is agreeing with us and not random Teddy Fanboys. -

WFT makes sense. They have a potentially elite defense and are drafting to low to get a top QB. Teddy and Mond or Newman would be good for them. -
Agreed. Fields has Watson potential.

I'm still a little salty Chinn didn't get DROY!
ForJimmy replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
DEs aren’t going to get more tackles than LB/SS. Young was great at keeping QBs contained and adding pressure. I’m not saying Chinn didn’t deserve it, but DEs kind of get the QB treatment for these awards. Sacks/pressures get more attention that tackles. Regardless I’m glad we have Chinn and love hearing about him learning under Luke. We have Burns as our pass rushing specialist so it’s really win win. -
I’m not too concerned about his arm, but more about how he can handle pressure especially when there is no pocket. Is he quick enough to roll out and make his reads/throws while avoiding pressure? Does he make good decisions under pressure? These are mostly unknowns to me. If he can be as quick as even a Kurt Cousins he might be ok. I’ve seen Cousins avoid sacks and even run for a first. It just requires a lot more recognition and awareness for a QB who is limited athletically like Jones is.

It’s getting painfully desperate... Show me a source stating he won’t be cut or traded? Show me something stating he is a capable starter? Why hasn’t the GM came in and stated Teddy is our starter to kill these rumors? It can’t be a report or link to a journalist either. You criticize every report we link up here, yet you have no concrete data that backs what you are saying. -

You have to keep evaluating the QB position until you have a guy that can get you into the playoffs and win a Super Bowl. Straight from the owner’s mouth. If Teddy was that guy, this wouldn’t have to be said. Other owners and staff don’t talk about their starting QBs this way. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/30853889/sources-carolina-panthers-offered-no-8-pick-teddy-bridgewater-matthew-stafford%3fplatform=amp We offered our first and Teddy for Stafford, it’s been reported and never disputed. https://www.google.com/amp/s/pantherswire.usatoday.com/2021/03/01/49ers-called-panthers-teddy-bridgewater-trade-talks/amp/ Niners calling inquiring about Teddy after Lynch stated they need some insurance for Jimmy G. I see you have dug in on this Teddy is a good starter in the NFL and made it difficult the get out of the spot you are in by denying and arguing with numerous people on here. It’s no secret our staff wants to upgrade him and will get rid of players and picks to do so (for Watson or a higher pick in the draft). -

Exaggeration is something most sports fans do. How many “once in a generation” prospects have you heard about in your life. It gets amplified for the QB position like everything else. The staff has spoken pretty clearly about Teddy and I don’t see us coming back from that. Teddy was a risky FA that looked solid in a limited window with a ton of talent around him in NO. We gambled (a little) on him and it didn’t work out. There is a reason teams are not blowing up our phones to trade for him. The Niners are “interested” because there starter always gets hurt and they want a solid backup for insurance. I personally wouldn’t mind him starting while we groomed a Fields or Lance, but I don’t know if that’s possible anymore. -
Norwell fits the Rhule mold better than Turner right now. Hard worker, practices hard overachiever kind of player.

Why does this guy like Teddy so much? Does the Huddle over exaggerate how bad Teddy is? Yes, of course. Should fans be satisfied with Teddy as their starting QB? No, of course not. He is a good backup who can step in and win some games by playing it safe. Our Owner, GM, and Head Coach have all hinted at upgrading our QB position. I’ll be the first to admit I thought he had potential in Joe Brady’s offense with our weapons last year before the season started and several games in. I saw enough to know he isn’t the answer... -
I’m worried the Dolphins will trade for Watson and the Texans will use the number 3 pick to select Fields. Making it Lawrence, Wilson, and Fields at 1, 2, and 3 with Watson gone and a very little chance Lance makes it to us...

This is what I’ve been trying to say. He was also missing some players and playing hurt against Alabama. I hope he falls and we are able to get him. Seems to check all the boxes, great arm, athletic enough to extend plays, no major injuries, big frame to take NFL hits, no off field issues, always seems classy on his interviews and has only a couple losses. People are ignoring his 2019 season where COVID didn’t mess everything up. He has the ability to be a Watson type player. I keep hearing the Ohio St QB reasoning too which I’m not buying. LSU before Burrow had what Matt Flynn and Russell? Clemson had no QBs before Watson that made it great in the NFL. Texas Tech ran a “college offense” that pad stats and had no star NFL QBs and Mahomes turned out pretty good...

I like Fields. He looked great in 2019, struggled in a couple games where his players and staff were affected by COVID.

Chris Simms Just Released his 2021 QB Rankings
ForJimmy replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
Herbert’s last 3 were 2 Passing TDs and 1 INT against lesser competition. Not saying we just draft Mond, but we should definitely do our homework on him. -
The Raiders actually have a solid line. Not a fan of Russ, but come on man.... Carr is no where near him when it comes to playing the QB position. Gruden and Russ would be two huge egos for one team to juggle though...

Zack’s face is too punchable, I’ll take Fields or Lance though.
