  1. Rhule didn’t give a poo about the draft when he was playing Washington. He job is to get his team prepared to win that game and he did. I’ve never understood all this crying about a win... I don’t see many analysts stating “you know if Carolina just lost that game 4 weeks ago they would have a better draft pick. Such a bad call winning that one...” We won and we were the better team. That’s what should and did happen. Let our staff figure out the draft now since it’s that time of year.
  2. Our staff/owner kind of prevented us from waiting. They have all but thrown Teddy under a bus in a way which he can’t be a Panther next year. We tried for Stafford and missed, are trying for Watson but if we miss the FA or trade options we pretty much have to draft one.
  3. Coaches and players get paid to win. Fans and players on the team don’t want to watch the coaches start benching players and “experimenting” to get a better draft pick. It’s a quick way to lose a locker room. These NFL players are some of the most competitive people on Earth. It’s how they got to be as good as they are. We just watched the Eagles coach try benching players and he is now terminated because he lost the locker room. We pay our GM and Scouts to find players and not be served a top 10 pick whenever possible. There are countless examples of top tier QBs and other draft picks not being picked in the top 10 (Dak, Russ, Mahomes, Watson, Brady, Brees, Jackson, Rodgers etc...) and many top 10 QBs not work out (Mitch, Darnold, Goff, Jones maybe... all pretty recent). They will and should play every game to win and figure out draft moves after the season.
  4. We have an extra 5th for our compensatory pick. So we will miss out on our 3rd and a (hopefully) mid to late 1st next year to get our QB. If our staff thinks Fields can be the guy, then it’s worth it.
  5. I would love Fields or Lance. I think the Jets are wanting Wilson and it would cost too much to get their pick. Fields and Lance are very close IMO. Fields probably has a higher floor due to having success at a higher level, but Lance may have a higher ceiling.
  6. Both upgrades with upside. I wouldn’t be thrilled, but it’s a nice backup to a backup plan...
  7. I understand. I feel like he could be very overrated because of his supporting cast, but also could see him dominating us if a team like the Saints get him...
  8. So stay put and draft a LT or Mac Jones if the top 4 are gone?
  9. Are they bad? I know Howell, Rattler, and Daniels off the top of my head. Purdy and Penix showed flashes. Not to mention several schools didn’t get to play many games this year so there should be many new faces.
  10. Yes if we can’t get a QB, LT is the second most important position. If we strike out on QBs we need to go all in on beefing up our line and get ready to try again for our guy next year.
  11. The man doesn’t have the build to play in the NFL. Every game he plays he either gets hurt or is playing hurt. He has a lot of heart, but I hope he doesn’t get much more playing time for the sake of his health...
  12. Yeah, scouts kind of knew Hurts doesn’t have a NFL arm when it comes to accuracy. Lance throws a great ball and is pretty accurate. His weakness is competition and experience... the intangibles are all there.
  13. Next year’s first is on the table for the right QB. The second is a little steep considering how high it is, but if they bring in Lance and believe he is their guy, I can deal with it. Linemen better be the rest of the draft...
  14. People need to stop thinking you need to suck to draft your next QB. Build a great team/foundation while constantly looking for the right fit. Russ Wilson was a 3rd rounder, Tom Brady 6th, Rodgers at the bottom of the 1st, Drew Brees 2nd rounder, Lamar Jackson bottom of the first, Watson was picked up at 12 (trade up), Mahomes at 10 (trade up), Dak was a 4th rounder. These franchises built a solid team which helped their new QBs succeed. We have the right staff and young pieces on offense and defense. Tanking to draft or thinking we can never get a good QB if we are average are proven to not be true. Next year’s first is fine to jump up and get our guy, but we need to keep building our team. We are far from a finished product and even if we don’t get a top QB, we can prepare our team for when the moment strikes to get one.
  15. The guy that threw 0 INTs in a season can’t read a defense? I’m not 100% against Jones, but when you make statements like that you start to ruin your validity.
  16. I was looking more at Trent Williams. Throw in a deal for Moton and Miller suddenly our offensive line is a strength and we have no cap space left....
  17. I mean he is “unhappy” so it kind of IS his problem, not to mention the number of hits he has taken...
  18. It’s a little frustrating how QBs want these huge contracts, but they also want a great line protecting them and plenty of weapons. I mean you have to field a defense as well while staying under the cap...
