Somewhere in the middle?

Hopefully he doesn’t throw himself into the top 5...

Josh Norris believes WR 3 is a big need this offseason
ForJimmy replied to GoobyPls's topic in Carolina Panthers
QB and LT are still the biggest needs. I’m sure will sign a vet WR or draft someone like Rogers from Clemson in the middle rounds. You (likely) won’t find a capable QB or LT in the middle rounds. -
ohhhhhhh boy. sounds like watson is getting traded. per jim trotter

I mean it would take 2 firsts and most likely another pick to jump to 2/3 to draft an unknown in Fields/Wilson. 3 firsts is most likely the STARTING point for Watson.... -

Don’t complain about him complaining about people complaining! -
Ronald Curry?? As in THE Ronald Curry?! Also the Falcons need to piss off and keep Matt Ryan. He is their burden to bear...

Did we trade for him yet? -

My only guess is they thought getting a starting QB, CB, FS, DT, LT, LG, RG, TE, slot WR, AND both LB positions was a little too much for one offseason, so they held on to Shaq. Do I agree with it? No, but at least he is just overpaid and not a liability on defense.

Jones is tough. Is it his fault his team was loaded? No? Did he thrive with all of that talent? Yes! Record breaking season. He and Lance have the most unknowns, but Lance has the most potential of anyone in the draft. Rhule got a nice up close look at him in the senior bowl. If we draft him, it’s because Rhule thinks he can be the guy.

I guess my thought process (though now proven wrong) was he isn’t making any more total and we would be eating dead money if he is traded which means the team taking him would be responsible for his salary minus the dead money we are eating. This would be assuming a team wanted to give up capital for him, but stated his salary was too high.
-
Any chance it’s a way of trading him while eating some of his salary because it was too high to move him?
-
If we can’t get a QB, LT has to be a top priority.
-
There is a good chance we trade up and draft a QB. Lance is about to have scouts drooling at his pro day. If we stay at 8 we might miss out on the big 4...

I’m not against it. A good plan C. If we get a Slater or Sewell at 8 to pair with Moton plus Paradis is back suddenly our line has potential. We just sign a vet guard and draft a young one in the 3rd/4th. 2nd round pick still wide open for CB/Safety/Linebacker depending on FAs signed.... Mitch with a good line with CMC, Moore, and Robbie might be a good offense.

Chris Simms “no way the panthers draft Lance at 8”

If we do get Lance, who is our starting QB week 1? -
Tag that ass!

There should be some good vets cut.

Teddy Bridgewater likely on the outs in Carolina
ForJimmy replied to Verge's topic in Carolina Panthers
It makes sense what you are saying, it just looked like Teddy doesn’t have what it takes when the game is on the line. He had several opportunities this past year to produce a game winning drive and looked jumpy and nervous. Checking down on 4th, fleeing the pocket too early, not even looking at Moore (who is our 1) wide open, throwing into double coverage. Back when he was winning with the Vikings and Saints, he had elite defenses and didn’t did many of any game winning drives. We also ran the same offense he had in NO, so he should have been the most familiar with it.
