TBH the Saints have beaten us too much lately. The Falcons feel like more of a “rival” to me than any team. Now that Brees is gone is might shift back...

How much of the Jets performance was really on Darnold?

It’s hard to find another Teddy. -

Baker would be a bust as well.

Sam Darnold talks about The Adjust To Charlotte And The Panthers
ForJimmy replied to KatsAzz's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah I’m not worried about the personality at all. Burrow, Brees, Murray, and Luck (when he played) all had that laid back easy going OFF the field personality and made it work. As long as his foot is on the gas competing during practice and the games I’m not worried about him being entertaining.... People wanted Fields and he has that same demeanor. It’s all about winning games for the fans. -

They all do play an extra game... -
I hate that it’s making me not want to cheer for him, because he seems like a good guy.
-
Wait until Fields scores a preseason TD....
-
Oh no I get he did not this time, but the eagerness of fans to get worked up over a potential practice INT seems a little much...
-
Ok let’s not freak overreact over practice INTs. Darnold will throw some, that’s why they keep practicing. Preseason is going to be fun....
-
Well if they went over it more in practice maybe Teddy would have thrown to the open WR down the field.
-
Moore looks confused that he was hit in stride and even had to extend his arms.
-
Good for him because he doesn’t have prime Cam to bail him out...

The undersized undrafted linebacker from Wisconsin?

Bouye does he ever! Seriously though he was great for the Jags only a couple years ago. Ramsey was their one and he was a dominant 2.

2021 QB1 Stat Predictions (BleacherReport)

If he puts up those numbers, Brady looks great but the Jets would have to be embarrassed. Plus that would be quit the steal by Fitts for a future 2nd and late picks. I’m still skeptical, but hopeful! -
Let the 2020 draft class help temper expectations for nice 2021 class
ForJimmy replied to Basbear's topic in 2015 NFL Draft
Yeah however we were able to roll with BPA this draft which usually means more value for your dollar. Also Fitts was helping with this draft. Fitts first year helping Seattle in 2011 they got KJ Wright in the 4th, Sherman in the 5th, and Byron Maxwell in the 6th, not to mention Doug Baldwin as an undrafted rookie. That was his first year as Director of College Scouting. The man knows how to find late rounds value picks. The very next year he helped get Wagner in the second and Russ Wilson in the third. Not bad at all! -
Cut his ass! Bust!

What we need to see from Sammy D in OTAs
ForJimmy replied to CarolinaLivin's topic in Carolina Panthers
Oh no I definitely get it. I was pushing for Fields, but since we are rolling with Darnold I’m sitting back and letting our staff do their job. I relatively confident in them and it should make for an interesting year of football. I get that the odds are against him, but the Jets were strongly considering trading their pick and rolling out Darnold with more weapons/ protection. Besides if any team can make a player look bad it’s the Jets. -

A gunslinger with a bad coach, few weapons, and no protection is a recipe for disaster. A lot of mistakes will be made in that scenario. I know it’s not ideal for any QB, but gunslingers will just let it rip to guys who can’t make plays. Dink and dunk Teddy would have faired better IMO. -
Teddy on Joe Brady (In response to prior comments on practice)
ForJimmy replied to CarolinaLivin's topic in Carolina Panthers
Same. I think he is a solid backup and an intelligent, nice person. He just isn’t a $20 million starter.... It’s nothing personal. I’m not even a camp fodder warm body! -

Why not Darnold vs Mac or Darnold vs Mond? Hell we could have traded before the Niners did for pick 3 and grabbed Lance? Do we also look at Darnold vs Lance? We could have offered more to get Stafford as well? It’s a never ending game. People need to move on from Fields. If we drafted Darnold over Fields it would be a little different. We got him for relatively cheap and already had what we think is an option at the QB position with a huge need at CB when we were on the clock. Do the Dolphins have to worry about Fields vs Tua since they passed on him as well? What about the Lions and Goff vs Fields? -
Matt Leinart never really did well. Baker Mayfield is a good point. In 2019 his QB rating was worse than Darnold’s believe it or not and he was throwing to OBJ, and Landry while Darnold had Robbie Anderson. So in 2020 they beefed up Mayfield’s line and got him a smart offensively minded coach and he did great. Darnold mean while lost his best weapon (Robbie) had a terrible line, kept his terrible coach, and battled with a shoulder injury all year making him regress greatly. I’m hoping we can get a 2019 to 2020 Mayfield progression from him. Better line, better weapons, and better coaching might do that. Let’s hope it does!
