It’s reminding me of a certain poster who loved the two TE set offense.

I don’t understand the Appaloosa Model. Can you explain it again?

Scott Fitterer: We want Sam Darnold to just flush what's happened
ForJimmy replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
I’m so confused about what you are arguing? So you think the Jets surround Darnold with better players and coaches/staff than Cam had any year? That was my debate. He stated that and I gave two years 2013 and 2018 where the talent was far greater than Mims, Crowder, and Perriman. Hell even in the 2015 year Ginn had more yards/TDs than any Jets WR, Olsen had over 1000 yards and Cotchery, Brown, and Funchess each had more yards than Mims. Anyway go find an analyst/writer/anyone who thinks Darnold had good talent and coaches around him. My whole point before you barged in was he never had a fair chance with those coaches and that team around him. -
Well said.

I do it all the damn time. No worries.

Yeah he got hurt but was on the team to be a weapon for Cam. Care to read off the other receivers stats or does that not go well with your cherry picking? Mims has never had a NFL TD and that’s the 3rd option lol. What a stupid debate this is. Playoff appearances? What are you talking about? You jumped in the middle of a debate where the other person stated the Jets had better talent around Darnold than we ever ever gave Cam. I gave examples of Cam having better options. The Jets were a joke and didn’t give Darnold a line or legit weapons. It’s why the Kiper, McAfee, Schein, McShay and any other analyst is at least curious to see what Darnold can do with an actual coach and weapons around him. I’m not sitting here and saying Darnold will be good, but I’m also not going to say that situation he was in was any decent indication of how good of a player he is. -
seems like there's a lot of optimism.....

They’ve done a good job so far on the rebuild. The main concerns are LT and QB, which might be the two most important positions.... If our staff hit on it we should be a solid competitive team. -

I already did the 2018 with Moore, Samuel, Olsen, Funchess, Byrd, CMC... I get we didn’t give Cam weapons that often but this Jets team he is high on had Mims as his 3rd. Mims had 350 yards and 0 TDs, Crowder 699 yards 6 TDs, and Perriman 505 yards and 3 TDs. Olsen alone makes most groups better.... -

2013 roster, not Cam’s rookie year. Lol yeah my bad on that one. Which brings Greg to his prime and gives the Panthers Ginn and Smith. Regardless it’s not hard to look better than Perriman, 2nd round rookie Mims, and Crowder???? -
If I hear about the damn Appaloosa model one more time.....

We get it, you hate Darnold with no data backing it up. He single handily ruined the Jets franchise and got Gase and Bowles fired. You want another year? Cam’s rookie year had Steve Smith, Ted Ginn, Lafell, Hixon, and prime Greg Olsen. It’s really not that hard. Blaming the QB for a RB not getting screen passes is beyond dumb. That’s my point. Bell’s receiving yards dropping had to do with play calling not Darnold. Oh so you found ZERO examples of any analyst or commentator backing you nonsense. Zero as in the number of wins the Jets had with Darnold not playing these past 3 years. -
It depends. Some have children/family that could get real sick if exposed. Just let them do them. Our very own Jaycee Horn left early because he had family that got pretty sick from it (his aunt passed away after getting it).

DaQuan Jones on The Golden Calf of Bristol

Touchdown Tommy! He did good for the Steelers that one year... -
I predict we will play one more regular season game than we did last year.

So he went through two shitty head coaches in 3 years who no longer have jobs. Coaches get paid to win. Miami benched Tua for Fitzpatrick and the coach was not on the hot seat for doing so. These brilliant coaches failed to see what you are saying and kept playing Darnold when he was healthy over Flaco. Bell’s receiving yards are normally off dumpoffs and screens, if you think he is out running deep routes and getting missed by the QB you need to watch more of his film. Exaggerating is the excuse you are going with because you looked foolish. Let’s just say you are exaggerating about all of this and call it a day. Crowder, Perriman, and Mims are without a doubt a bottom tier receiving core.... Do me a favor and go find any decent analyst or commentator that feels Darnold had great coaches and weapons/support in New York. I’ll be here waiting............ -

I’m excited about the potential of our young defense. Brown, Roy, YGM anchoring our line with Burns and Reddick rushing the edges! Throw in a Perryman upgrade over Whitehead and a potential CB1 in Horn that lets Jackson cover the 2nd best/slot WR on the other team and our SS Chinn is a beast! Throw in a few high potential players like Nixon or Miller and I think we are going to have a good think going by late season! Watch out for the Northwestern boys in Paddy Fisher and Peyton Ramsey. I could see both of them making the roster or at least practice squad for now... -
It also depends how these guys are being used. I don’t know how Elf and Erving were used last year, but they seem like zone blocking guys. Christensen might be better in zone too, which might make things difficult for Brown to become a starter. I’m assuming we start off Scott/Erving, Elf, Paradis, rookie/Miller, Moton with hopefully Christensen taking over LT before the season is over and a rookie taking the RG job from Miller. I think Elf and Erving are going to come in handy while these rookies are learning/developing. They seem like they are both bridge players with the potential to take over the center position in a year or so.
-
That’s the thing, a team could give away a ton for him and he could retire in a year or even mid season....
-
Even if they can get 3 firsts plus a player for a disgruntled 36 year old? I get he was MVP, but he is the kind of guy who will walk away from the game. They need to do what’s best for their business.

Especially with a new GM not named Hurney.

They viewed Darnold as a top draft prospect and passed up a couple to roll with Darnold and Horn. Now let’s see what this staff can do with him and his new weapons!!
