  1. Sizzle might be my favorite troll account next to the Teddy one. I really hope one of them is just Igo messing with us.
  2. Pretty sure he is just a troll account.
  3. Yeah, but to me Wilson only had one year of great success, weaker competition, and an injury to his throwing shoulder.
  4. I think Tepper got involved and now regrets it and will never do it again and abandon his Appaloosa Model forever.
  5. I think with Trevor and Fields you have two very highly recruited High School QBs that fully lived up to expectations in college and had multiple years of success against top teams. Throw in their arm talent and intelligence and they seem like safer picks than most IMO.
  6. Maybe you forgot about Armanti Edwards and Bersin...
  7. Answering a question with a question are we?
  8. They did have Watson, but before him a lot of nothing...
  9. QBs busting is more common than not and OP as shown there really isn’t a QB university. The exception to the rule for ANY university is when a QB makes it. It’s such a hard position to find the right guy that’s why I was desperate enough to want the Panthers to draft another one as well as have Darnold.
  10. Haskins was the only player with the same coach/system. Ryan Day just became the head coach in 2019 and uses his own system. Which again is why it’s silly to right off prospects from an entire university that has had several staff/coaching changes. Also Texas Tech ran a QB friendly spread offense and what did the Chiefs do? Draft Mahomes and cater their offense to his strengths. Worked out pretty well...
  11. You think a man of his intelligence would step in and prevent that from happening. How do you know he left it to the “football people?” Do you have a source or just a random guess?
  12. Yeah they had a pretty dominate defense with Rex Ryan for a minute. Once the defense fell off they moved on from Sanchez...
  13. Which makes complete sense. Fields could have been even slightly higher, but Darnold comes with what we believe is an elite CB prospect. He even said (I know I’m going to butcher this up) we look at athletic ability/potential over stats to some degree when talking about Tremble.
  14. It’s not really relevant and has been debunked with Pat Mahomes, Peyton Manning, Watson, Russ Wilson, Aaron Rodgers all came from schools that hadn’t had success with players becoming legit NFL QBs. Researching for stats/intrigue is fun, but to using it to pass on a potential prospect would be silly. It’s like saying we should pass on Sam Howell because Mitch was a bust, Ronald Curry had to become a WR and not many UNC QBs have been able to have success in the NFL.
  15. Easier said than done. They are hard to come by. If two of the ones drafted this year become franchise guys that’s around the average. Hopefully Darnold will work out and we want have to do the QB shuffle. The good news if we have laid the foundation for a solid team overall. If we find ourselves continuing to search for a QB, whoever we bring in should have a solid team/foundation around them.
  16. I’m ok with giving him a chance. I think there is ability there. Just stating we didn’t pass on Fields because of his schools history of QBs. I would imagine a lot went more into it than that trivial point.
  17. What about Rodgers or Watson?
  18. Surely our genius owner would know better than to treat a QB this way or let his staff do so right? I mean he is insanely smart, rich and knows what he is doing. Don’t question Tepper again or he will flunk you out of Appaloosa School.
  19. Paid him $20 million a year and expected him to produce?
  20. Definitely risks on both sides. I would think a rookie is more of an unknown, but what we do know of Darnold isn’t very good. I am looking forward to seeing what our staff can do with a young QB with a good arm. I don’t think anyone is defending these past OSU QBs, just stating it’s a dumb reason to pass on a talented player. Saying player X is checking all the right boxes, but he played for a school that over decades of different personal and staff hasn’t produced an elite prospect in the (2 first rounders) previous players that were drafted from there seems like a bit of a reach...
  21. So one hasn’t played a snap, and one has a smaller sample size than Darnold who we are giving a pass.... got it.
  22. Hey the guy we signed came from a university full of high round busts, BUT look we found a university that’s worse! Problem solved...
