Tua is currently a mid tier QB with a lot of room to grow and develop. He hasn’t played a full season’s worth of games and is putting up solid numbers behind a worse line than ours. He should only get better as he develops AND is on a rookie contract. He is also a lefty which means Moton is protecting his blindside. He is also on a rookie contract. The Dolphins haven’t given him a real chance, but see an opportunity to get a young top 5 QB talent in Watson.

I’m team Corral

What ELITE level coaching looks like and can do for your Franchise

It didn’t work. Other teams caught on and we spiraled just like Denver is now.

I don’t get the hate on Howell. He is a local kid that would have been the top pick if he left last year. He has a great deep ball (something we have been missing since healthy Cam) and can scramble ( which we need with our line). If he falls to us I don’t see why we would pass unless we do something stupid like trade for Watson… which would mean we wouldn’t have a 1st anyway.

do we think the watson trade is announced today (10/26)

Today makes senses because (unless you play Thursday) you get nearly a full week to get some practice reps in. With the Texans playing the Dolphins I wonder if it’s today for Carolina or next week for Miami. Honestly watch him still be a Texan after the deadline… -
We will have to give up something for someone to take on that contract

Yeah and couldn’t throw a deep pass and checked down on 3rd and long. Once teams realized this they just kept their safeties in the box. He went to Denver for a 6th.

2 of those draft picks are top 10 picks with Burns still being 16. The thought would be having a QB like Watson would mean later picks. Not that I’m on board with it, but hopefully we won’t keep drafting in the top 10…

https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.miamiherald.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/barry-jackson/article248056035.html This article claims he would be a $35 million cap hit in 2022 if traded. Throw in Darnold’s $18 from that terrible decision and that’s a lot of money at the QB position…

Moore catches plenty. He is also wide open on many plays and overlooked by Darnold. I get his frustration. Plus he knows it’s a matter of time before Sam throws a pick or fumbles.

Bad at evaluating as well. I believe he was high on Teddy and had to have input on the Sam acquisition. He needs to be an offensive assistant longer and take some notes.

Rapoport believes Watson will be traded before the deadline
ForJimmy replied to t96's topic in Carolina Panthers
I’m not as concerned about that as much as the allegations themselves. If they are true I don’t want this guy on the team I cheer for… -
He obviously isn’t ready for the big league…
-
Yep. It’s a very hard position to play which takes a combination of football intelligence, discipline, and physical ability. Sam has the physical ability, but that’s about it.

I wouldn’t trust that source… (kidding) -
Corral has some of the same swagger that Baker has. I think he has some potential providing we replace our terrible center…
-
Well he was terrible his previous game so if that’s an average he did pretty good. Erving isn’t terrible either and he can play center. Maybe a BC, MJ, Erving, Miller, Moton line could be serviceable?
-
No I’m just saying just because we acquired more picks at a later time doesn’t mean Darnold cost less to acquire. It’s more of finance/economic thinking. I loved Fitts jumping around and being active in the draft.

I’m thinking of DJ and Robby’s faces on the sideline. They have to be thinking “this guy was sold on Teddy and now Darnold….” It’s probably more frustration that anything, but that’s how it starts. IMO DJ should be a top 10 WR in this league. Get him a real QB and his stats will explode.
