I am not sure we have some pretty strange people on here. One guy says he is more physically gifted than AR. Another guy claimed he was top of the league last year. Another guy claimed he will be our starter and continue to progress and develop for the next however many years. Another one claimed he did nothing wrong in his 2.4 QB rating gave. Oh wait….

I have no problem with Sam as the backup. The number of posters that want him to be our guy going forward is very confusing. We need to want/expect better from our franchise. Gamble on a 6th year player who still has the same issues or do like most other teams and draft one. It’s really not as complicated as people are making it.

Just sign Ngakoue to replace him short term. Reich is already familiar with him.

I think Burns is a great young edge rusher, especially with our new DC and possibly a 3-4 defense. However if we can use him to land a potential franchise QB right before he is owed a bunch of money, it might be worth it. Use the money we save to sign a vet pass rusher like Reddick or Ngakoue so our pass rush isn’t complete poo and we might be ok.

Yeah we would need to sign someone like Ngakoue (Colts FA Reich should be familiar with) to offset the loss.

IF and I mean IF CJ is the guy we think is the next Burrow, we have to trade up to 1 for him. It would be so easy for another team to jump us if we get to pick 3 or 5. We should probably do it before the draft to prevent any chaos. If we can do it and keep our 25 1st it will be a success IMO. 24 1st is probably certainly gone unless we trade a player like Burns.

He seems like the safest pick. I feel like he will become anywhere from a Goff to a Burrow (best case obviously).

Let’s not pretend like moving up to the mid 3rd to acquire a QB is some insanely high compliment. They were definitely intrigued by him, but if they thought he was a franchise guy the move would have happened a lot sooner. They gave up what a 4th comp and future 3rd for the trade? Corral has some potential, but our staff isn’t heavily invested in him which is why they are probably scouting QBs again for an early pick.

We will see in April. Whoever goes higher than a mid 3rd is more than likely ranked above him.

Burns plus 9 for the top pick and take Stroud. Sign Ngakoue as a Burns fill in until we find out next pass rusher. I would do this in a second. It will probably take more though…
