I get that for players like Burrow, but Hurts literally had more starts at Bama than he did at Oklahoma. I think that's a little different story IMO.

ESPN's Benjamin Solak on Panthers QB situation
ForJimmy replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah he wasn't playing here. Pretty sure he told them he wasn't. If by some miracle he did, he was just be on IR here with our OL back then. -
I believe he requested a trade once they put him at QB3 behind Purdy and Darnold. Doesn't look great but everyone knew he needed time as a prospect.

Tom Brady took Bledsoe's job. Doesn't mean Bledsoe was bad. The team was just winning with Brady who was a 6th rounder vs Bledsoe being a 1st.

Lance is 2-3 as a starter. Willis’s wins are just more recent because he has an opportunity recently. I’m not against Willis though. Similar idea as Lance. Needed time to sit and learn coming out of college. High ceiling due to physical abilities. -

The best part is we wouldn’t have to trade for him. Just sign him to a decent backup QB deal. -

Bennett reminds me too much of Bryce. Undersized with a limited arm who was on a stacked team in college. Throw in him having some off the field issues and I'm not excited about him. Reminds me of Bryce without the Bryce's character which is one of his good traits. -

Funny thing is Levis actually played better than Ward in Tennessee. Not saying we should sign him but something to think about. I believe Mac Jones is under contract. The reason I lean Lance is age, ceiling, and he was always a prospect that needed to sit. He has learned under Shanny, McCarthy, and Harbaugh now and actually looked comfortable running an offense in the preseason. He beat out Heincke as QB2 at LAC as well. Plus he wouldn’t cost anything other than his contract as he is a FA. Willis is another one to consider. -

The answer? Nah. A reasonable option as our QB2 who is still only 25 (younger than Shough same age as Nix) with still a potential ceiling? Yes. I’d love Lance as QB2 and a mid/late round developmental rookie to go with him. -

Still intrigued about giving Trey Lance a shot. He will be a FA and not too expensive. -
We need a premium guy to pair with Scourton as he develops. Princely is a nice rotational pass rusher. I coukd see us drafting an edge in the first if the value is right. Add a LB to play with Wallace and our defense will be close. Maybe another safety and CB2 upgrade?

Jimmy Clausen got us Cam Newton so you need to show him some respect!
-
Harbaugh is rolling with him as QB2, I see no reason why we can't next year and let him compete. He has everything you want physically. Sometimes these guys just need time and the right place (see Darnold, Geno, Danny Dimes, Warner, Delhomme etc...). If we still have Bryce, I'd love to add Lance and draft a midround rookie on on a player like Green from Arkansas.
-
lol oh wow you found a bad rep from a rookie. I stand corrected he clearly has been bad all year judging by this single rep. Point taken.
-
One team has their way with us vs every team last year. Scourton has been a nice surprise his run defense was always his strength. He is still young and raw as a pass rusher. Remember people were watching box scores and complaining about DB his early years too. I watched him collapse his side of the pocket several times yesterday. Of course you won’t see that in the box score. There are plenty of things to complain about. Our 2nd round rookie edge has not been one of them IMO, but you do you.

Meow Mix podcast cancels plans to return after players tell them not to
ForJimmy replied to TN05's topic in Carolina Panthers
They said they were stopping their podcast this year because we were so bad. I guess some players took it a little personally? So they wanted to bring it back now that we are looking better and the players half jokingly told them not to. -This is my understanding of it but there is a big chance I am missing quite a few things here. -
He is so hit or miss. He completely ran by that WR on the screen play in the backfield. He also just falls over if he misses a tackle.
-
It was this year. Cards game maybe? When Icky was out?
-
He was plug and play for run defense and has done a very good job setting the edge. Throw in his motor which you yourself complimented and he will develop into a more complete player who can pass rush. Him playing great is one of the reasons our defense is playing so much better than last year. Wonnum and Scourton are setting the edges and DB is eating up the interior. If you are just watching stats for production Abdul Carter only has .5 sacks while Scourton has 2. Few people are doubting what Carter can do with his high win %.
-
Bring in Trey Lance to compete. Draft a mid to late guy as QB3 if the value is right.
-
So I think he does play it on certain packages, they just aren’t that common. Yeah I’d like it to me more flexible myself.
-
Does Baker count as far as playing great? Or Goff? It sounds like aside from Burrow they just needed different teams.
