Panthers Draft Pick Status (Week 7)
ForJimmy replied to Leeroy Jenkins Ph.D.'s topic in Carolina Panthers
Just depends on how far back we go. I wish we could do what the Bears did to us, but I don't think any team is doing that soon. -

Hell I’d love a trade back. -
How does the quote go "you throw to score, you run to win." Get a lead and run the ball to end the game quicker. If you are behind by multiple scores and don't trust your defense yeah you have to start throwing the ball. The clock can quickly become your enemy or best friend.

Rams and Titans could use one. Especially the Titans. I bet the Raiders drop down over the season too. -

At least we actually have a first round pick this year. Our 2nd from the Rams is looking good so far! -

It's sad we are doing this so early, but that is where we are at... -
Would You Get a QB in 2025 draft, or not??

Ward's throwing reminds me a little of Lamar. He looks comfortable back there and is a gunslinger. No moment appears to big and he looks like the leader in the huddle. He is athletic enough to beat some pressure and extend plays (obviously no where near Lamar's level). Like most gunslingers he will amaze you with one play and frustrate you with another. He trusts his arm a long. His arm looks plenty strong to me (yeah not Allen or Mahomes, but solid). He also has a lot of experience throwing the ball. They threw a lot at WSU and he had solid numbers there (high TO ratio though). -
I'm excited to see him play! Obviously the pick wasn't the smartest move, but he is on the team now and looks to be a talented player.

Maybe that's why he is paranoid about height now? Ewers is solid. I feel like he might be the safest pick out of the QBs. His team is loaded though. Also I want this next guy to be a straight up leader/alpha on the team. I definitely see that with Ward, Sanders is too but he also comes off as arrogant sometimes (throwing his OL under the bus, mocking former teammates, not shaking hands after winning) and I'm not sure that will win over a locker room. I kind of want to see more of this Rourke kid. He might be word a mid round flier...

Would You Get a QB in 2025 draft, or not??

So just don’t draft one again because they might be bad? I’m leaning bridge QB and edge with our first right now. We have to upgrade this roster’s talent. However, out of the class I like Ward the most so far. -

Depends if we can land a serviceable bridge QB. You get one of those and we can try to build an actual roster for a rookie QB to be out in later. -

Yeah the loaded class of TLaw, Zach Wilson, Lance, Fields, and Mac Jones wasn’t that loaded after all. -

I thought Bryce would be good still. Just thought Stroud was the safer pick with the higher ceiling. Stroud’s arm talent was (is) just unreal… -

Wilson maybe? If we go defense we desperately need an Edge… -

Caleb and Daniels did that in college too. It took Caleb several games to adjust. Daniels looks like a seasoned vet out there. It’s still a bit of a crap shoot, but Sanders and Ward have the physical ability to be great. I think that’s part of it. They are just more physically gifted than a lot of defenders they play so they can hold out for the big play. -

I liked Fields (missed), Stroud (hit), and last year I didn’t have a favorite but I will admit I didn’t think Daniels would take off like this. He has been incredible. -

You can’t knock Ward for playing in the ACC and like Sanders who plays in the Big 12?? Right now he has 20 TDs to 5 INTs, Sanders is 17 to 4. Looks like he is cutting back on his TOs to me. Ward can’t beat you with his arm but he is 2nd in the league in passing yards even after having his bye week? He just rallied to beat two different teams one which he was down by 21 mostly with his arm. He sits back and reads defenses like Sanders. Both kind of hold on to the ball too long, but they are getting away with it. -

What if Geno is available? They can cut him for next to nothing and he carries s big cap hit…. -

Solid. Not top 5, but definitely a 1st rounder. Check out Parsons talking about Ward. https://x.com/GeoMilian/status/1843672059320381474?ref_src=twsrc^tfw|twcamp^tweetembed|twterm^1843672059320381474|twgr^ba94c57ae97cb0fc59409ba378d9e7174602313e|twcon^s1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fathlonsports.com%2Fcollege%2Fmiami-fl-hurricanes%2Fcowboys-micah-parsons-delivers-bold-praise-for-miami-qb-cam-ward -

6’2” is Mahomes, Rodgers, Lamar, Dak, and taller than Baker, Hurts. In this draft Ewers and Sanders are both his height. Size shouldn’t be a concern for Ward.
