Let’s see what we get for Teddy and how the draft goes. If we roll out next season with Darnold starting while Lance/Fields get up to speed I will be very happy. If we get a 3rd/4th for Teddy than this deal really isn’t that bad...

Yeah if the Jets were in a top 3 draft position to draft a new QB to pair with their new coach, I think they would have kept him and got some line help/ weapons.

We won’t have to freak out and trade up for a QB now, but if Fields/Lance fall to 8, I hope we still draft them. If not Slater/Sewell/Surtain/Chase would all make me happy.

Hoping for 3rd, will probably get a 4th. WFT, SF (back up), NO, DEN are all options.

I’ll wait and see what we get for Teddy before I make a judgement. Also I hope we still pounce on Lance or Fields if they fall to 8.

ATL for Julio?

I just can’t get excited about Darnold... I get he has some talent, but I don’t know if he has the smarts to play that position consistently at a high level. The whole seeing ghosts comment was a bit of a red flag....

ATL probably isn’t ready for a QB, but doesn’t want us getting Fields. Pretty smart and frustrating actually....

Don’t we already have that in Teddy? The problem it they have trouble hitting the deep target and keeping the defense honest. They can also struggle with blitzes. To me Fields is the best option. Great thrower, strong arm, accurate, and has the ability to extend the play with his feet. Our offense line is far from dominate as are most in this league. It helps to have a QB who can avoid pressure and extend plays with his legs like Mahomes, Rodgers, Allen, Watson, Lamar, and Russ do.

How can people be fans of this team and not appreciate Cam? He never had a LT or true 1 WR (aside from Smith his rookie year), never had a good OC and carried a team to the Super Bowl while wining the MVP of the season. It’s bad enough to try to defend him to other fans, but you would think OUR fans would recognize how special he was to this organization and how we failed him with lack of talent/coaching around him offensively while his body took a beating. Oh and off the field he was constantly giving back to the Charlotte community.

I would love a swap for Teddy and drafting Lance/Fields with the 8th pick. Pick up a LT on the 2nd and start Darnold until Lance/Fields is ready. Even Darnold with Mills in waiting/developing might not be terrible...

Would love it. We would just need to sign a CB (like Bouye) and another Safety as free agents.

Just look at Fields stats, just over 70% completions with 22 TDs and 6 INTs in a shorten season for them. Year before over 67% completion with 41 TDs and 3 INTs. He is averaging over 9.3 yards a pass. So over 2/3s of the time he is going to throw a completion for a good chunk of yards. If that’s the first read than that is working out great! This is all not even looking at his rushing ability. If he is there at 8 we better be tripping over ourselves to turn in our card to select him.

We are in no position to get Wilson so... Fields and Lance are our two best shots at a QB in the first.

Athletic QBs never win it all? Pat Mahomes, Russ Wilson, Aaron Rodgers, Steve Young? Brady just happens to have won half of them the past couple decades... What exactly do you like about Georgia politics?

I think Rhule had a lot of influence on our draft last year, hopefully he will again this year.

Yeah I mean he could compete for the starting job in NO, DEN, and WFT (I think they are going to get Darnold). Honestly I could see him doing ok in NE to backup/compete with Cam.

So we can use our 3rd to jump to 6/7 get our guy and trade Teddy for a 3rd? That would work out awesome, and save some cap space!

Lawrence, Wilson, Mac, Pitts (Falcons seem to be high on him), Sewell/Chase Dolphins(not draft a QB)/Lions could be trade partners, but Slater, Fields, or Lance should be available at 8 regardless. IF the Niners get Fields and the Falcons trade their pick for someone to draft Lance we can look at Slater at LT.

Problem solved! I think they might like Fromm over Allen though. Maybe we can trade for Allen? Allen didn’t beat out Fields in college though...
