  1. Haha yeah it was bad. It’s like it has never happened before so he just started naming random QBs “off the top of his head”
  2. Wait are we allowed to draft a CB with a need still at LT? Asking for a friend...
  3. It was 42 seconds, stop exaggerating!!
  4. If Sewell is there and we trade down I might cry a little....
  5. I think she has Mac to the Niners. Was one of the first people to say it.
  6. Most important update on the Falcons, they are still terrible.
  7. Steve Young started for 3 years played poorly and was traded to a new team and found success? Brees and Palmer played well for their previous teams the injury got Brees traded. Tannehill was average with Miami before being traded/signed. Gannon was with the Vikings for 6 years before becoming a journeyman and landing with the Raiders after several teams in between. Don’t know about Johnson or Testeverde??? Is that what we are aiming for?
  8. How does he have better odds than a rookie? A top pick getting traded after 3 bad years has very small odds of becoming a franchise QB?
  9. I wonder what our next option was if someone else got Darnold?
  10. Just posted something very similar. We were hesitant about giving up what little capital we did for him tells me we see the risk that comes with him.
  11. This team was desperate to move on from Teddy which I think we can all agree on. We were all in on Watson, tried for Stafford, and reached out for Russ (just a guess here). After all of this we were hesitant about giving up a future 2nd for Darnold. From the outside I don’t see that as being sure or incredibly high on him. I know they are going to make it seem like he is there guy because that’s smart on the team’s part. I think it was a little desperation after striking out on a few different option. Just my opinion though...
  12. Watson, Mahomes, Murray, Burrow, Allen, Herbert, Mayfield, and Stafford are all active young (aside from Stafford) early first round picks with Jackson and Rodgers being later in the first. It’s like all the good QBs aside from Dak, Russ, and Brady. Matt Ryan was also a top pick, but I hate him. Now show me a list of top 3 picks who struggle their first 3 years, get traded and become franchise QBs.
  13. He is saying you can’t go into thinking we HAVE to have this position BEFORE we draft this. BPA is the best way to go while knowing that QB and LT are both still considered needs (along with several other positions). Maybe we have Sewell over Fields, but Fields over Slater. It all just depends on who we like and who is available.
  14. Exactly. It all depends on who falls/is available at 8 and where our staff ranks them. We aren’t going to avoid the top LT fir our 5 ranked QB, or ignore a top rated QB for a LT we aren’t as high on.
  15. Bunch of Robby Anderson builds coming into the league.
  16. My only critique is I would use more perrywinkle. Seriously though great work!
  17. So if we can’t get a LT at pick 8 we can’t address it at all? This happens to be a very deep draft for that position. Fields at 8 and Radunz at 39. Our line was middle of the pack last year with Teddy in the pocket. Darnold and Fields can avoid pressure better than Teddy plus throw in a player like Radunz at LT and your line isn’t terrible. We can even draft another G in the 3rd. What happens if Sewell and Slater are gone before 8? Do you think Murray had an elite line in Arizona when he was drafted? Herbert had the worst in the league. The line is very important, but it doesn’t triumph the importance of finding the right guy to play QB. I don’t understand the whole we can’t draft a QB until we have a top line in the league issue.
  18. It’s like spending a future 2nd (reluctantly) and late picks on a player in a position that important doesn’t guarantee him a starting spot. We just spent a decent amount of money on Erving telling him he can compete for LT, so do we not draft one now because we have to build a complete team and have other needs? I mean if we traded for Watson (before legal trouble) or Rodgers then yeah I would be against drafting a QB in the first, but it is Sam Darnold which makes the position still incomplete in my book...
  19. Yeah no team has ever been upset with having two productive young QBs. Especially at the value they are currently holding... and if Darnold struggles we would be very thankful we would already have another option.
  20. There is a very good chance we trade next year’s second and a couple late picks for Darnold because we doubted the QB we wanted would be there at 8. Go ahead and lock up our backup plan before the draft so A) teams are less tempted to jump us and draft a QB B) we won’t have to trade the farm to jump up and grab a QB we like C) we won’t have to worry about getting into a bidding war for Darnold with desperate teams who couldn’t land a QB in the draft after it’s over This does not mean we are set and don’t draft a guy that falls to us. Those three picks wouldn’t be wasted. Darnold would have an advantage to start the season since he has been in the league 3 years. If our rookie is good we can ease him in and trade Darnold next year if we pick up his 5th year.
  21. Exactly. If we used those picks to move up to 5 or 6 and picked Fields no one would blink. This way we also have a young backup with potential no matter who wins the starting spot. Also if Darnold turns out to be great like people on her are suggesting then we can absolutely get a return by trading one of the two.
