Clearly he never deserved the job. Not sure what he showed at Baylor and Temple to truly show his so called impressive coaching that would warrant a nfl head coach gig. His inability to evaluate QBs has been painstakingly obvious. Who hedges their seasons on guys like Teddy Bridgewater and Sam Darnold? Lol Now he’s relying on a past his prime Newton who has been out of football since the summer and only on the team a matter of weeks to cover for him but that’s not going to work. Especially with the quality of coaching and and offensive talent that he provided this season. Rhule dedicated so much in the drafts and FA towards defense and the results are incredibly underwhelming. Their stats were inflated against bad rookies and backups that it made them appear decent but man you can’t invest in a defense like this and produce these results. Let’s not ignore his stupid college gimmicks like the DBO sign that clearly worked to such effect that we lead the league in penalties. Like lord I’m glad Rivera is gone and that dude got away with murder thanks to some amazing talent making him look better but hiring Rhule? Lmao

Upset Cam didn’t throw 3 INTs and 2 fumbles like they usually like to see from their type of quarterbacks. They just have to have that right look, ya know?

Well at least we had decent enough QB play again and it’ll be interesting to see as Cam gets more comfortable in the offense. We all knew the coaching staff is still garbage and the Oline will still have their problems. The defense is solid and young but has gotten away with playing many rookies and backups to inflate its stats to the point people think ints a legit top 3 defense when it’s closer to a top 10 one at best. If Darnold was in this game it wouldn’t have been this close with the way it was playing.

Could you imagine if Darnold was playing in this game, with this defense? Man we’d be talking about a damn blowout to Rivera instead of tied game lol.

If Cam somehow wins this game for us I wonder how many talking heads will say how brilliant Matt Rhule is for bringing Cam back. Ignore the fact that his defense he invested in so heavily still collapses against any okay level QB and that bringing Cam back was basically him giving into the logical part of the fan base saying “Sam Darnold is the best option over Cam, really???”

Rhule might be taking a note from Rivera’s book. Invest super heavily in the defense and rely on the good ole “Save me Cam!” to actually win.

People talk about how great this defense is but anytime they’ve actually played decent QBs (Prescott, Cousins) or even somewhat competent ones (Heinicke) they look suspect. Theyve been lucky facing a lot of rookies or backup quality type QBs this season.

Media and certain people already trying to make something out of nothing with Cam. Just wait if we actually win some games and get into the playoffs. The Matt Rhule coach of the year talks will start to get thrown around to play down the Cam Newton effect lol.

There’s a an issue when someone like Tepper gives such a massive coaching contract to a guy who clearly didn’t earn or deserve it in the NFL. No, the contract doesn’t count towards the cap, but imagine what players must think. Seeing a coach who hasn’t earned that kind of money getting it from the start so easily. Probably makes some of them feel like they should get way more in their contracts for little to no good reasons too. Especially having to put up with Rhule’s college gimmicks and DBO crap. Creates a kind of mindset. Kind of like Robbys highly questionable extension getting done at a time it wasn’t really needed and clearly not deserved lol.

Some people were claiming that he was the best panthers QB seen during training camp in many many many years. Of course, those same people pretty much ignored all of Darnolds entire detailed playing history from college and the Jets and were just extra excited to finally have, you know, the “right” looking kind of QB in camp.
