You’re free to have your own opinion about KB, but that doesn’t change the fact that he was drafted to be our #1 WR. Separation wasn’t going to be his strong suit and the team knew that, and his size and catch radius was the biggest factor in drafting him. I don’t think separation ability is the only quality that makes someone a #1 WR. DG said at the time that KB was someone who could rise up to the challenge when the game was on the line, and that’s who Cam looked to most of the time before his (KB) decline. The stars just aligned in 2015 when they went to the SB and had no connection to KB. If that were true then we would’ve gone back to the SB every year since his departure. you can look back in hindsight and say he was never a number 1 WR, but I’d say he was drafted to be one and was developing into one before his injury and subsequent life stressors that affected his development.

KB made sense then and I still agree with the pick today. He did well and met expectations are a number 1 WR. I believe it was when his mother passed that it affected him emotionally and psychologically which led to his downfall. People cope differently and I think his way of coping just so happened to derail his NFL career.

Wow, this is the first season that I can remember ever since I started following the panthers (2003) where they didn't play the Steelers in the preseason.

Panthers eyeing Sean Payton post Rhule?
Manna replied to Panthercougar68's topic in Carolina Panthers
At this point, for me, any coach is better than Rhule. -
They love paying players to do nothing on the team as well such as the entire o-line minus Moton.

Sigh. (It hurts when you see it pointed out like that)
Manna replied to PanthersATL's topic in Carolina Panthers
It only hurts if you look at things the wrong way. Change your perspective because things are 1000% working. -
He's a finisher and fatalities dudes unlike the softies we've trotted out there the past few years.
-
From these highlights it appears as if he always looks for someone to block, and folks who go against him have a hard time shedding the block. He also mauls dudes which is what we need.

Will support the pick either to flourish into a franchise QB, or support the pick to get us the No. 1 overall pick in 2023.
-
Fitt will get cute and end up trading out of the first round while picking up 2nd and 3rd rounders for this year.
-
Sure, if they want to coach him up in his ability to cover. If not, don't put him in a position to fail.

Robby Anderson wants Panthers to work out Colin Kaepernick
Manna replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
He was supplanted by Blaine Gabbert before the kneeling happened. his skill set had declined at that point. Kap running back to the NFL is like you running back to your ex to beg for another chance after verbally trashing them to everyone you know. -
Sam Darnold told Jets they were “making a mistake” by trading him
Manna replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
The bigger mistake was picking up his 5th year option before even seeing him on the field. That's why we're stuck with him this season =/ -
I don’t know much about the 49ers, but Did they do that because of Jimmy G or in spite of Jimmy G?
-
Dudes not on the team and he’s already a cancer in the locker room. Hope our guys that were in the trade package use this as motivation to improve, especially when we play DW4 twice a year.
-
Worked out for the better. We keep our draft picks, players (even though I don’t think anyone other than Chinn is part of the “core”), and Rhule should be gone after this season.
-
Well, if we don't get Watson, maybe this will turn out to be a similar to how Luck stayed in college and we ended up with Cam. That seemed to work out. Except, I dont think there's a "Cam" in the league.
-
Right, and if he's anti-slavery, why want back in?
-
Didn't he adamantly compare the NFL to slavery?
-
Sure, if it will help secure the top pick in the 2023 draft. Otherwise:

The perfect draft picks from last years draft
Manna replied to RIPTreyLance's topic in Carolina Panthers
Sure, but Rhule wouldn't play any of them
