BREAKING: Panthers might hang on to Ejiro Evero
Manna replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
We’re hanging onto Evero because 1.) he’s good and 2.) so we can get a comp pick for him next offseason when he does get hired away. The rule requires that minority coaches have to be on staff for at least 2 seasons to count towards the third round pick compensation. I don’t like the rule but it’s what’s going on. -
For the money he's asking we can probably have Brown and Luvu. I'd say they are more important to our defense than keeping Burns at the rate he's asking for.
-
The defense has been decimated with injuries all year and the DC has been able to field a competitive unit all season. He's made lemonade with lemons. Can't say the same about the offensive staff.

I know some of you will think this means nothing

I saw a little bit of "Cam" in him yesterday after his 11 yard improvised run. He even smiled and celebrated. I'd like to see more of that from QB1. -
Nah, everyone is just auditioning for other teams at this point.
-
I hope Tepper meddles enough to force the new HC to keep Evero on as DC (if Evero wants to stay).

An actual compliment for Bryce Young... the kid can take a hit
Manna replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
That’s one thing he’s been able to do to prove the doubters wrong, myself included. Still waiting on him to prove me wrong with his play, but he took a good step in that direction on that last drive. -
I’ve been down on him but heck yeah. Young came in the clutch

Positive thread - 2003 Panthers memories
Manna replied to Gapanthersfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
That’s the season I started following football and the Panthers. I was 17 at the time and was told by a coworker friend to turn on the tv immediately because the panthers were blocking field goals and extra points left and right. I turn it on and sure enough I saw one fg get blocked. Had no idea how football worked then but I’ve followed the team since. -
Thats been the case since he entered the league. People, and even the panthers fan base, continue to talk about laptops, towel over head, me-first attitudes, won’t jump on a fumble, dressing like a girl, and only having one good year. Cam knows this and probably trolls these folks on purpose, and he’s allowed to do that, but somehow he’s not allowed to.

Rebuilding the Carolina Panthers - how long will it take?
Manna replied to jayboogieman's topic in Carolina Panthers
Hopefully we can win a SB in my life time, and I'm only 37. -
Behaviorally 2008 Steve Smith would, but I don't think 2023 Steve Smith Sr. would.

Evaluation is done. Bust Young. But as a fan, there's still some hope for him to prove me wrong. Maybe next season.
-
Heck I’m for Greg Olsen to become the next head coach because he at least understands what Keep Pounding means. Need to get rid of this soft mentality the team has adopted.

If Bryce busts, was that the worst trade in the history of the NFL?
Manna replied to Captroop's topic in Carolina Panthers
It’s bad because we had to be the ones to make it. -
Bryce mostly made plays when he had to improvise today. However, he failed to make plays when he had no pressure and had time to throw from the pocket. He made, like what, 4-5 inaccurate deep passes that were all overthrown? I recall Vilma attributing this to his terrible footwork due to him being more "tosey." I'm not footwork specialist or have an idea of how it works, but I would image his footwork to be impaired due to having to tippy-toe in order to kind of see over the line. He's proven me wrong in being able to take NFL hits, but it's clear that he can't see over the line, hence, needing to tip toe which then impacts his footwork (my guess at least.)
-
The offensive coaches are living and dying by that narrative they sold us all off-season that Bryce was so smart, walked on water, ran O-line meetings, and was operating like a 10 year veteran.
-
WR couldn't catch today but when they were open the ball placement specialist couldn't hit them.
-
Oh yeah he was there. Working real hard towards (in the opposite direction of ) that 30 million / year.
-
Bryce has been trash but his WRs have been soft today.

For those that were Panthers Fans in 2008

Definitely MNF game where Stew stiff armed Barber so hard he bounced off the ground like it was a trampoline.
