I mean thats a name and hed be closer to home. Injury history, but who else is willing and talented? I swear the panthers need 5 WRs and 2 PS future guys. Adam is 34 and mingo is still learning.

Props to you. Im not perfect either- 2020 simmons was my guy before I found out two weeks after the draft he was scared of contact. Loved the YGM and kenny robinson picks. My favorite draft was the 2021, just loved all the value in trades and most of the picks- nixon, TMJ, smith, brown. Said it would be a top 5 all-time panther draft. I still believe it would have been if not for injuries to horn and christ. I wanted to trade up for sewell and was upset he went one pick before.] 2022- wanted neal, ugh but happy with icky. He grew on him if you look at the draft forum threads. I agreed with carrol, thought he or wilks were the best QB 1/1a. Im a big RAS guy, so loved the brano pick given the draft looked like nothing was left. Id be fired here, for sure. 2023- just like you stroud was my guy 100%. again with you on BJ Ojulari over mingo whom I didnt even know of. (I took a big step back this year in draft research). Hated the trade up for old man johnson. zavala again didnt know of him just he played with icky. LOVED robinson favorite pick in draft. The guy would have been cut if not for 5th round, PS guys were playing above him when injuries hit. I basically now just pick out the top 50, couple groups that panthers need, and dark horse/steals type. Plus long ago I started not caring about rounds 5-7, just pointless. this year I just know the 33rd needs to BPA and they better hope its WR.....or edge.
-
I mean you need good players at all spots, its that simple. I believe the focus needs to be on position value, so not drafting RB, safety, or even OG early picks.*unless they are SBMVP/HOF special* Ive followed the draft too long and found you can find good OGs, RBS, and safety in rounds 5-7. They just have a higher "hit" there. SO in the 1-3 rounds my focus would be QB, WR, LT, DL, edge, and CB. Just the way i am. Lions show you still need to hit on players even if its MLB or RB. They built the correct way so incoming rookies can have success.

Send him bryces HS and college tape STAT!!11111!!!!!

In theory, you could trade for him without a new deal. If he plays out of his mind, tag his arse. But I get da bears moving towards caleb williams cause they have 200 million questions about fields. I forgot who it was(brian urlacher??) said this, it goes along the lines " If you even thinking of drafting a QB, fields is not the guy or hes not your guy". Im less of a 200million fields than so-so williams, but williams contract will not break your team if he plays poorly. fascinating to see how this plays out. fyi at one point david fuging carr was the highest paid QB in the NFL, so was Jimmy "fuging" garoppolo. Fields at 40 is not crazy in these times, I mean I feel that way, but its not crazy talk. Theres talk of dak getting 60per and we have seen him for a while. Looking at the QB market- new panther numbers guy tillis looks like the smartest man in NFL.....

Panthers building new training facilities
Basbear replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
HEY Tepper, is this your "avengers" 2.0 project pal?? -
Yea, I got no clue how this plays out. Again I was no fan of his, but he played better each month. Hes still young and the going rate for average starter QB pay is around 40 million. Thats super hard to commit that coin to fields. The reports were many teams were calling about him, lies......if you look into who can write that 200 million or find some team that thinks hes worth it forget about the picks.. One of the deals were this move will cause a 9.0 earthquake in the NFL. With ATL, you can hand the ball to two stud RBs 40 times and look great doing so.

juan posted some of latest talk. I think pft also posted that it will take either a 2 or 3 this year and a future pick tied to if he signs a deal with the same team. Sorta like the riley deal in jax. I think that way too. Just what sorta price do you sign fields at?? 40 million per, thats a hard one as well. @Varking get in here and defend your boy!

Thats my opinion of the type of package needed for the best WR thats only 25. Didnt mean to come off as you were silly about any trade offer. I did believe its not the right time to add JJ given the current state of panthers being the least talented. Plus in order to do so give three two 1sts, two 2nds(maybe more) and pay him 30 million per. If we were talking 2015 or 2017 panthers, fug it worth the risk. This team is de-void of talent and needs years and lots of hits in the draft before making a move like this. Plus I have huge doubt the viking would value burns above like a 3rd. They have a DE type and BB isnt it, they are one of the best drafting DE/edge teams in the last 8 or so years.
-
I think if atl gets a decent or baker like QB, they will win the division with ease. They have about everything(edge is missing) you want/need, just missing that important QB. Plus he doesnt need to be great, just not bad. Just if I was a QB or the agent of one, alllll those weapons at RB, WR, and TE. OL is decent and the whole offense unit has under-performed. They could be down right scarey with a real QB. Is that fields? Thats a tough call, never was a fan, but he has improved. If he kept getting better, it would be a 10 year nightmare for the NFC south.

Yea im beyond sick of watching gambling ads non-stop. I know with even a DVR, if you see a gambling ad, its either the first commercial or game is back. Its a super turn-off, but I know the beast thats its become. But like my old friend that was a Correctional Officer told me about gambling- " You can not stop inmates form doing it, they will bet on which water droplet fails first or which fly leaves first ". I feel that way about drugs too.... Im just fatigue about it among many things force on us especially if its hypocritical or BS.

Just to add panthers also have the youngest OC in the league and its not close.....thielen is older.
-
Yea, it has a bad feel about it. I get it, once you look at the roster, watch the tape, know the investment they have in young.....its a lose/lose deal. If morgan and caralass pull it off within three years, build a fuging heavens tall statue of each next to sam mills. I dont blame him one bit, take that 6 year multi-million lotto ticket. I just dont see him being able to over-come the least talented roster, no depth, no young talent, few great picks, and you are forced to play young with the hope hes turns into a NFL QB...... This job will take years off his life....dave better find him one of these fast-
-
I watched them for you. Dave came off as a lamb being lead to slaughter while dropping coach speak quotes. Dan looked off the meth and said what every single GM says - " want tough, smart, guys that are all football". Each feel WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYY over their heads about the rebuild ahead. More I see about caralas, the less I like the hire. I hated the rhule hire, its not that bad, but right now Id want evero leading this rebuild rather than a guy seahawks never gave a OC job too after 14 years there..... ALLL while he was "loved" by pete and staff......like what is that poo??? Only the panthers gave him a call to interview for HC and thats with carales qualifying for the rooney diversity hire. I was thinking about win/lost over/under and this made me put the number at 3.5. *bonus- i think smart money is the under* Dan has to draft like the best GM in NFL history the next three years(missing a 2nd next....) and canalas needs to figure out how to be a NFL HC while being one. Just feels like this will get feel ugly fast, just my honest feel right now.
-
Just like with young at QB, the panthers need to hope/pray that icky can be the answer at LT. Honestly with the team needing everything minus safety and STs, there is a chance that the current OL plays well enough to be average. focus&spend resources at edge, TE, WR and find some depth at every spot. That was the main issue with OL, no IOL depth, it was PS level players. Thus boze, icky, and young looked even worse than they are. Mays let me down and they wavied thundercock for some reason. Sure he sucked, but he was the least suxx among the PS depth.

Carolina Panthers raise ticket prices by 4% for the 2024 season
Basbear replied to Billy Love's topic in Carolina Panthers
yea guyz, im starting to think david trepper is not a good owner...... -
yea after his daughter died and hes coming off the career killer achilles injury, mix in 4.5 sacks too. this is a bad move, but thats what panthers do...
-
so the least talented team with the lucky 2-15 record needs to trade another byce young-like package for WR that is demanding to be the highest paid WR?? this is a huddle dream if ever, but whom am i to crush it...... carry on.

Getting Crunch Time for the Panthers and Brian Burns
Basbear replied to 45catfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Ive heard former GMs talk that hotel bars are where a surprising amount of trades happen, not as much as past years. Most happen at the combine.
