https://www.profootballnetwork.com/latest-2024-nfl-draft-rumors-eagles-wr-buzz-michael-penix-jr-soaring-titans-caplan/ Cincinnati Bengals Multiple teams interested in veteran WR Tyler Boyd told PFN that the indication that they’ve received is that he plans to make his decision on where he plans to sign for the 2024 season after the draft. The feeling is, as a source with one of the teams said, is that he wants to see what teams do in the draft before going forward. Boyd, who is clearly the top slot receiver available on the open market, was looking for at least $9 million per year at one point earlier this offseason, another source said. The veteran pass catcher signed a four-year extension in July 2019 worth $43 million ($10.75 million per season), which expired in March. Houston Texans The Houston Texans looked into the potential of acquiring veteran WR Stefon Diggs, which went down on April 3, well before then, a league source with knowledge of the situation told us. The source indicated that the team was looking into his background and potential fit with them at least three to four weeks before the trade with the Buffalo Bills was completed. That would indicate that it wasn’t just the Bills who were looking to move him. As the source explained, the Texans felt that they wanted to build on last year’s surprising success to make another run in the playoffs. Philadelphia Eagles There’s been surprising buzz around the Philadelphia Eagles and the wide receiver position. As a coaching source who has worked with new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore in the past told us this week, his base offense, when he has enough players at the position, is 11 personnel (1 RB, 1 TE, 3 WR). Behind the two starters at wide receiver (A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith) are two veterans on one-year deals (DeVante Parker and Parris Campbell) who have had their share of injuries over the years. Tennessee Titans Multiple league sources strongly believe LT Joe Alt, if he falls to them at No. 7 overall, will be the selection at that spot. The feeling here is that by selecting Alt, who our sources say is the “safest” left tackle for the 2024 NFL Draft, would help solidify the left side of the Titans’ offensive line with Peter Skoronski entrenched at LG. If Tennessee is able to secure Alt, that would enable the coaches to move third-year OT Nicholas Petit-Frere to RT to compete for the starting job there. Defensively, a source with knowledge of the scheme says Tennessee’s expected to run a 3-4 front with new defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson. However, his scheme has some differences from former head coach Mike Vrabel’s version of the 3-4, which has its roots from the New England Patriots. Washington Commanders With a whopping six picks available within the top 100 selections (one first, two seconds, three thirds), some teams have told us they expect the Commanders to explore the possibility of packaging some draft assets to trade up for a higher-graded player to address needs on both sides of the ball (OL, DE, CB). Latest Buzz on Top NFL Draft Prospects Michael Penix Jr., QB, Washington There’s been a lot of talk in the scouting world lately that, despite his injury history, Michael Penix Jr. will wind up being a first-round pick. Penix, known in coaching and scouting circles as possessing the best deep arm of all the QBs projected to go off the board within the first few rounds, has shown the ability to process information well based on the game tape from the past few seasons. Some teams feel that there will be at least a few teams looking to replace their veteran signal-callers over the next few seasons and will look into either trading up from Round 2 or trading down in the first in order to select him later where he would be seen as a better value. Adonai Mitchell, WR, Texas There has seemed to be a lot of buzz surrounding Adonai Mitchell in recent weeks, and as one scouting source said, it’s because of his size, speed, and talent. While he’s seen as a “late bloomer” and didn’t have huge numbers in college, Mitchell is still projected to go off the board late first/early second round due to upside and how he projects to be a starter at some point within the first few seasons at the next level. Jalyx Hunt, EDGE, Houston Christian If you’re looking for a player who could go off the board much higher than first thought, it could be this guy. Jalyx Hunt started his collegiate football career off at Cornell as a safety but would eventually transition to edge rusher at Houston Christian due in part to a late growth spurt.

I'd say its a fair statement to say they may tie the all-time trades of 11 or was is it 12. There's a CB and OL run incoming and that mixed with the fight over penix or JJ...It could get messy fast. There's no TEs, DL, LBs, OL, or CBs compared to other groups. If a run starts on OT, some team will trade up.

2 in each round? gut?
-
I think the same mogging would happen in young meeting Caleb......
-
Most reports there are the top 3 and maybe the clear 4th is Brian Thomas Jr. After that its the same bag, just what do you prefer slot, speed, hands, etc?? The group form 5th - 12ish have very similar grades. Which is why I thought waiting until 65 for WR is the smartest play, cause the talent level at CB, C, and edge drops massively compared to WR. Even that 101 pick could have a WR that many teams had a 2nd round grade on. But the X factor is trying to make young into a NFL QB, that means 33........PLUS another mid-rounder on WR.....

4 AZ plan: -Stay at 4 and take MHJ. -Trade back to 6 with NYG or NE (* see ) and still take MHJ. 5 LAC plan: -Stay at 5 and take OT Alt (or I’m hearing maybe Latham over Alt?). -Move back to 11 and take OT Latham. 6 NYG plan: -Plan A: Want to move up to 3 for Maye. Don’t think NE will agree to move, but that’s what I hear NYG wants most. -Plan B: Odunze. I’m told they’re not gonna risk another OBJ/K. Toney situation. 7 TEN plan: -Take OT Alt if he’s still available (which could happen if LAC moved out of 5 and a QB was taken there. -Take OT Latham ***ATL at 8 and CHI at 9 could have multiple offers to trade back when they get on the clock, as teams behind them could be jockeying to move up for one of these guys: QB McCarthy, WR Nabers or Odunze, OT Alt or Latham, and TE Bowers. 8 ATL plan: -Take the top DEF player in the draft (EDGE Turner or DT Murphy) -Trade back a few spots and still take best available DEF player (EDGE Turner, DT Murphy or CB Arnold) 9 CHI plan: -Trade back and recover picks (only four picks this year). -DT Murphy II or best-available WR/EDGE/OT would be priorities after trade down. -Only caveat; CHI could stick at pick No. 9 if Odunze or Nabers falls. 10 NYJ plan: -Best available weapon for Aaron (Nabers, Odunze, Bowers) or LOT protector Aaron (insurance in ‘24 and long-term). -Can’t rule out a slight trade up (for a weapon) or a trade down (probably would wind up with OT at that point). 11 MIN plan: -Trade up for Maye -Trade up for JJ (but only if it doesn’t require breaking the bank with draft picks!) *I hear there’s a real cost-analysis going on in Minn… is it better to keep picks and land Penix at 11 or to pay a haul to move up for JJ. Very interesting debate! -Stay home at 11 and hope JJ falls. If not, take Penix. Finally, Saints, Rams, Steelers and Eagles are making a LOT of calls about moving up (NO = OT). And teams I’m hearing have interest in potentially moving up for TE Brock Bowers: -IND -JAX

https://www.sportskeeda.com/nfl/news-insider-notes-2024-nfl-draft-rams-eyeing-intriguing-trade-up-vikings-beginning-panic-qb-room few nugs in there
-
I just would not pay a QB top money unless he's truly top 5. Look at giants, look at what rams did, its the largest problem to have. Honestly you have 4 year deal, then the 5th year option, THEN you can tag for 3(I think) years. That's (carry the 2.....add the 1, divide by root of 3)... 8 years of control!!! If its got to the breaking point a massive trade haul too. I'd stay drafting one every 5 or so years and not paying the 500 million, Id make Mike brown look like Bernard Arnault....
-
cam made caleb Williams look like a dwarf!
-
I think that's the deal, the Dallas or miamis are sick and tired of the contracts that are 60mill per for a QB that struggle in the playoffs, get a cheaper and better player. (others teams may join) I'd do the same, there's maybe 4-5 QBs Id give that insane bag to, dak and tua are not there...
-
I think penix is 1st lock, imo. JJ hype has cooled massively, but I still think he's a 1st too.
-
I swear it feels like they are going at a QB, the big three will be gone by 3......does JJ have their eye?.....I still think penix is better. I called penix going form 12-32 months ago, but Im starting to feel that first number needs to be lower now.
-
For sure 5 go, its a 99.99997876% lock for that.
-
I got no issue with that so long its not below 40 ....maybe 42 MAX. Just a big talent fall off happens right at 40, but someone falls most times. Form 14-40 are about the same level player. Then a big drop and this year late 5th-7 rounds are trash given draft pool BS/nil/coofus BS. Honestly just don't trade far behind Panthers 39th and 142, both are cliffs.

About the same odds that Carolina wins the NFC south...
