Teams already reaching out to Detroit for Stafford
Basbear replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I already told the board this, Stafford is held among elite in real NFL circles. Golden Tate who play with Russie Wilson, Eli Manning, and Full soul Carson Wertz. He said Stafford was the best QB. Its very very hard to take the QB out of the team and judge him. Lions hold fault for many of Staffords "issues". -
Me using analytics- " In superbowls, Brady is 6-1 against animal teams and 0-2 against non-animal teams.."...,.,,../

https://www.nfl.com/news/daniel-jeremiah-s-top-50-2021-nfl-draft-prospect-rankings-1-0 1) Trevor Lawrence, QB School: Clemson | Year: Junior Lawrence is a tall, long and athletic quarterback. He has a long delivery, but he still gets the ball out quickly and it explodes out of his hand. The Clemson offense features a lot of quick screens and quick hitters. He showed excellent touch and placement on those throws. He can really drive the ball down the field when called upon and he also has the ability to layer the ball (over linebackers/under safeties) in the middle of the field. His overall accuracy is excellent at all three levels. He does need to improve his pocket awareness. He doesn't always feel back-side pressure and needs to speed up his clock versus front-side pressure. Outside of his final game with the Tigers (College Football Playoff semifinal loss to Ohio State), I was impressed with his decision-making. He is a dangerous runner because of his build-up speed and toughness. Overall, Lawrence is ready to start right away and he has the tools to ultimately emerge as a top-five player at his position. 2) Ja'Marr Chase, WR School: LSU | Year: Junior Chase is a dominant player on tape. He lined up both outside and in the slot at LSU. He defeats press coverage with a combination of foot quickness and upper-body strength. He creates separation off the line of scrimmage and he can also find another gear when the ball is in the air. He is a clean route runner. He won't gear down in traffic and has very strong hands to pluck and play through contact. He attacks 50/50 balls and consistently wins. Chase is at his best after the catch. He routinely breaks tackles and can make defenders miss, too. He did have a couple drops when the ball was on his back hip but I have no concerns about his hands. Overall, I love Chase's attacking style of play and see him as a faster version of three-time Pro Bowl selectee Anquan Boldin. 3) Kyle Pitts, TE School: Florida | Year: Junior Pitts is a long, lean tight end prospect with excellent speed, ball skills and production. He has lined up inline, flexed in the slot and split out wide. He runs routes like a wideout. The former Gator has burst off the line, sets up defenders and explodes out of the break point. He beat upper-echelon SEC cornerbacks on a weekly basis. He builds speed to separate down the seam and tracks the ball naturally down the field. Pitts has an enormous catch radius. He uses his speed to pile up yards after the catch. He showed tremendous improvement as a blocker in 2020. He fits up, doing his best to wrestle and stay attached. He will fall off at times, but the effort is there. Overall, Pitts is a unique talent with the ability to take over a game. He is the definition of a mismatch player. 4) Zach Wilson, QB School: BYU | Year: Junior Wilson has average height and a lean/narrow frame for the quarterback position. He's an excellent athlete and generates several wow plays in every game I've studied. Wilson has a dynamic throwing motion. He carries the ball low but once his hands separate, the ball comes out in a hurry with a high level of RPMs. He's extremely accurate from a variety of platforms and arm angles. He makes some incredible throws while fading away with both feet off the ground, and he can drive the ball to the boundary from the far hash. He also uses his quickness and creativity to buy time to let his targets uncover. He's effective on designed QB runs, but that part of his game will need to be limited at the next level due to his lack of size.

This is me guessing, But it could have been another reason for Herniay getting axed. I bet Teddy/agenta were looking for a 1 year deal and Herniays big brain idea was 3 years. If he would have played just a little better, that would have been a good deal. Them the breaks.

Godfather speaks, but 8th overall is out of the question and Im a big Stafford guy. If panthers pick a non-QB with the 8th and Lions come a callin at 40..... I would have to .... yes?!?! I guess cause I feel Stafford is elite, even at 33.

QBs could go even higher than expected in the draft
Basbear replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
Not I, wait til his "combine" and watch the hype rocket go brrrrrrAAA. I think all 4 will be gone by 8th, just means 4 stud non-QB are left. More than happy to pick out of Sewell, Chase, Surtain, Smith, Slater, Waddle, Faley, Rouessu, Paye. This Team doesnt need a QB right now, it needs talent. Once the talent is here, QBs will be begging to join. I promise... What good is any rookie QB behind a line of undrafted FAs and 35 years old vets on min deals? Why do people want to ruin this franchise, cause that will happen. Teddy will get hurt 100%, rookie steps in and gets murdered. Huddlers- -
Youre more than welcome to join the gang. I hope hope hope hope teams 1-7 overlook him or focus on his faults. Its honestly a great fit if Lance lands here, Teddy would be a good teacher/teammate. Plus it wouldnt hurt at all to sit a few games while hes learn the pro life, lance can be a better Cam. But I believe he will drop a nuke whatever his pro-day is, thus hes going top 4. If people can dream about Watson, I can about Lance.

If it’s not a QB who do you want in the draft
Basbear replied to MGH1989's topic in Carolina Panthers
DJ has the panthers picking him in his latest mock, has Slater above him. Such a tease, Im about 99.99999999999976% sure hes no where close to 8th. -
Mike Remmers will start at left tackle in the Superbowl.

I think I saw where Teddy only had 2 TD throws in the end-zone. CMC had 6 TDs in 3 games and a TE is a red-zone weapon. Install a new O, Joe Brady never done it, with convidBS. Shame about how things played out.

Just sssooooo many needs along with starting QB, its not a must on my list. Adding young talent is and if it happens to be a QB, GREEEATT!! Dont want to force it either, team is still two years away. They been rebuilding the OL since 2015 and 5 starters and 2 top backups are not on the current team. Its beyond insane to trade away picks and players for a QB, then put that QB behind a total new OL filled with cheap vets, rookies, and UDFAs. Its like spending 50k on a engine and putting it in a car with 4 bald tires. \ Blind huddlers- " But but but QB is everything, its SOOO shiny !!!" " He doesnt need a OL or TE." " IF the panthers giveup 50 points per, who cares about DBs and LBs needs" Hurts my head, dream on tho.

*** I was wrong about the yucs, Brady took a PED shot late in the season and turned back into the goat after hard struggles. Hope the chiefs win.

Gantt weighs in on Deshaun Watson and Matt Stafford
Basbear replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
I know others are not a fan, but Im glad Darin Gantt is back reporting for the panthers. In his first few pieces, hes already the best reporter by far. -
Its emotions, hes allowed to be this way after a hard fought lost. The green bay FO is worst than Herniay, with this past draft. Honestly Hernaiys' #1 move is doing all he can to win right now, thats what GB needed with the draft. 0/10 failure with drafting Love(it did light a fire under Rogers tho..).

@WarHeel just check his stats, its a lazy way. I believe you did watch some games, remember *ANY* play he was a part of? Im done waiting, hes had the time and coaches. Im a sanjay TE believer. I want to control the middle of the field. No better friend to a QB than a TE. Its full hate on Teddy season, but if he just had a OK TE and healthy CMC, I doubt many would be calling for his right now replacement. TE is the most dangerous weapon in the league currently, a true match-up nightmare. They can block, so benefits running game. Move all around the field, back-field, outside, goal-line, etc. Its not like when a speedy slot WR come on the field, Ds send in nickles to defend... TEs could need a DB, LB, and DLman to marchup. Wish I liked Pitts enough for the 8th..

Scot you ok? Talking to yourself is for the chucks.. I figured out this Watson Jets and dolpins deal. Both are in the same division, Both have plenty of draft picks(early ones too), and both have a young QB with meh rumors. Start a bidding war, very smart. Jets cannt let the Fhins get him and Fhins cannt let Jets get him. Only hope is Watson refuses a trade to either(good luck) and only has eyes for Carolina... You fans can keep dreaming if you want too.

Just like everything depends on the price. I will say this, I was competly done with Dave when he picked a RB over Sam, I thought sam would have played better. That one year contract makes this not worth more than a late rounder, imo. Im also a sucker for low risk, high reward deals and this is one of them.

Each person should have a rough idea of eachs plan. No one that I know of has made their 180 player big board. I mean its not a secret about what carolinas needs are, even a normie fan knows. I do worry some about current panther scouts/executives making contact with Herniay, once Fitterrereer starts forming his plan/strategy/targets/big board. Burner phones are cheap and with just a little smarts its hard to control this. Herniay could have already promised money/jobs to them. Then it becomes a trust issue, cause some new GM will not allow current staff to see/know the plan/strategy/targets/big board. They think "fug this guy/team, they dont trust me, I need another job!" "Im not going to work hard or give honest report on players, cause they are not going to re-new my contract". Frittererererer has to figure that and I bet he wants to hire some new people after the draft too, good luck...

Those 15 coaching staffs that turned this down, looking like clowns right now with no combine. Props to Rhule he wanted it and wasnt scared of convid or extra work.

I like the new GM and hes trying to "fix" a impossible task. Hes done one hell of job getting draft picks and had a great 2020 draft class. If you look at his time since hes been there, theres so many positive that happened. He even admitted making a mistake by letting Robby Anderson go in free agency. Much like the panthers, their arrow is pointing up.
