Basbear replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
My pick is Matt Berry form Seahawks. He took over college scouting when Finesser got promoted to asst GM. Guy put in work form scout to national scout and well respected among teams. -

2021 Carolina Panthers are now the youngest team in the NFL
Basbear replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
All one year deals too and besides DaQuan I dont see the others re-signing. Melvin is a looonng shot to make the opening roster too. If I was a betting man.. JJJ will announce hes retiring before the season too. Ive said this plenty- The way Rhule coaches and what he demands, its a near must for young players. After the 2022 draft, that will be his team. -
Donte Jackson for Stephon Gilmore - Who says no?
Basbear replied to RIPTreyLance's topic in Carolina Panthers
This all depends on what type future contract Djack and Gilmore currently want as both are on 1 year deals. Best value gets my pick. -
So who is going to return kicks/punts this year?
Basbear replied to J.B.'s topic in Carolina Panthers
If the game was 2day, Id say put DJ Moore back there. Its one of those that TBD and camps will solve it. At least they got around 5 players able. -
I mean Rhule drafted all those Nasty blocking mofos, hes the type to go for 2 I bet....

Great post and 1-5 are all facts. I know Hunter long was picked two picks before. IMO TE was a group that was light in talent, honestly after DT it may have been the next "weakest" group. I just didnt have Tremble ranked in the 3rd, like at all. DJ and many others did, as you stated. I just got to hope he pulls a Herbert and is much better pro. Plus who isnt a fan of those blocks? Long Snapper just one of my rules about the draft. Im using draft picks on football players.(side fact, I help my cousin train long snap NFL) I will say I HATED when Smarty Marty traded a fuging 6th for JJ Jasen, 14 years later he was right. Just one of my rules, I value late draft picks more than using them on a player that *may only play 3 snaps a game. Youre also right, old RR and Marty picked one. In a interview he said a team was on the phone with him. Also to further hurt my points, I believe this will save the panther close to 1 million cap saving if hes replaces JJJ. Im about real facts and not being "right". If my only real issues are a mid 3rd and a late 6th, they didnt effect my overall approval much. BTW I do love UDFA Moore, I view him as a free draft pick and a 10% shot at being a 2022 starter.(he may need a season on PS) Nasty blocking was on Rhule and crew's menu. Brown, Moore, Tremble, and Christensen all had great highlights of taking the souls of defenders. I dubbed thee Nasty boyz 2021.

Both were a mirror of my reactions/feeling, went combo. Hes still is one of my go-to for memes/react gifs etc. Hes gone to that "off" movie making part of a big star career.... I thinks he directed a few and made about 10 movies that no one has seen in the last few years ala steven seagal bruce willis.

Thats dang good, DJ is one of few draft "experts" I truly listen too. Plus his ranking >>>> mocks, but clicks rhule the intrernet.
-
Hey now, I did think DT had good value starting in the .............5th!!! It was funny seeing Jaxs pick, RLOLS.....then the panthers pick one of highest rated DTs in the mid 5th .... Nixon had some off-field BS, I heard teams are concerned about his behavior off the field. Character issues, not medicals. Mid- 5th in a weird draft, I 100% approve at that point. Low risk, high award.

I know doing this for a few years, just getting one or two is near impossible. Those are time wasters, learn players, and for fuzzies. I remember you asking about Kelvin Joseph with him being everywhere form 2-6 round. I told you mid-2nd and thats what happened. I also had Keith Taylor as one of my go-tos for round 5 and shocked panthers went that way. Honestly Marco Wilson replaced him in my later mocks, loved him as RAS and upside more than Taylor. But seems Snow wanted some press options. I think Christensen was in one or two of my 500 mocks.....I mainly focused on OL early and panthers did not. Tho I reeeeeeaaaallllly like both OGs they ended up with. Brown and Moore(should have been drafted), if they buy in to Rhules world...... BOTH could be starting in 2022.

All grades should be 'INC", but theres no fun in that and this is forum that talks panthers. I agree with verge on most of these. My biggest issues are echos of others. Tremble pick is a F. Blocking H-back is not even on most NFL rosters. On the value chart if you rank Blocking H-back, its right above long snapper.....which brings me my next issue. Personally Im never spending a draft pick on ANY special teamers. Market is flooded with decent Kickers, punter, and long snappers. Id took a risk and drafted Trey Smith 10 out of 10 over a fuging long snapper. Lastly instead of the 2nd trade back, Drafted JOK too. Thats the bitachin part, now to good. Loved the focus on late round value. Nixon, Smith, Brown thats how you draft late. Value Value, late, who cares at that point about some red flags. Marshell was a great value too (if you couldnt reverse time and get JOK). Mehs are the rest, no hate or huge excitement like Brown(who can pull and move), Nixon, Smith, and Marshell value picks. Horn takes time to understand, honestly it does. Once you watch enough and know panthers weakness against Evans, Thomas and Pitts..... It makes more and more sense. Blame Lions for doing something smart with a new GM/HC. Taylor is same deal as horn, adds more press options for big fast guys. Snow Im sure is happy with both pics. Chudda Hudda, lost MDavis as the top backup and hes got waaaaayy more talent/skills than whats on the roster. Christensen is the OL guy they picked, not big on his LT future, but who knows where he is one year form now. Hosikins, dont know about him at all. Felt like a dart at a what was the BPA in round 7th of the weirdest draft in some time.

I got 94 after counting 3 times... too many
