With how it ended, Im too honest- Gettleman was worse than Herniay. No idea what happen, but he over-spent and drafted very poorly while giants GM. During his giant era, no team had better draft value in terms of picks. He wasted them on #2Barkley, #6Jones, #30Baker, and #33Hernandez. Just the whole group is awful, some even traded before bustin. First rounder Baker was cut year two, he traded(i think) a second to move up for him. Even talks of trading last years first rounder koney...... Even his 2-4 round picks were terrible. His free agent signing are the same or worse. They are in cap hell too. Thats bad whens theres no talent.....At least herniay yo-yo'd win seasons loss seasons, nyc dave was just a loser and that division was begging to be won.

I seen that, just dont buy that was the real board....it was too obvious(dead in the middle tv frame). Ravens always have a top 5 draft too, just not in their nature to screw up. All teams have a look and the main deal is if a camera is in the room the board is another room. No exceptions.

it was 12 plays(i think) where they 1 vs 1, still dont know what the role/job was for each play. I thought it was a clear win(overall) for jj. I thought it was the best film for Ickey, cause it wasnt the pancake highlight vs weaker/lighter teams/players. The thing i heard about Ickey is, he already knows what&how he struggled on. Coaches are not use to that behavior. Long run he may end up better than my guy Neal. I do think there will be some rough games early on and hope his health stays up, come year 2 he will be the best OLman on the roster. I just came up with this too- I think cobert needs to be the LG with Ickey as LT one day. Boz at C, __________/open RG, and Motown RT. I wanted to put Chirst at LG, but thats just too young of a Left side. If possible move the Vet Cobert to LG and he can hold his hand. Let Boz vs ELf for Center duties. RG is wide open, with my hope/dream that brown wins...

I also think jj won, but its a good watch.(if you dont mind some negative fluff)

Best defense??? Please for the love of god dont expect that from this group. I think the most realistic high point for the defense is 12th. They have to be the youngest unit by far, with that comes speed and mistakes. I think Shaq, Djack, and Burns are still below 26 and they are the "old" ones. (new LB littleton is older i think).

Matt Corral could've went in the first round to the Steelers
Basbear replied to EgoDogg's topic in Carolina Panthers
@kungfoodude you better bump this thread if either extreme happens to Scott Finessers rookies classes.. -
they better keep jimmyg....or be a player for baker. they could cut jimmy, thus save like 24 mill. then either resign jmmiyg(who has the room after rookies) or workout a trade for baker with the browns paying around 40%.... Got to hurt trading three 1s and hes not ready....

Hes one of those "local/small team" legends types. Brings the BIG energy, like almost too much. Example- down by 45 in the 4th and hes going bonkers on the sideline trying to get the 78 fans in the stands to cheer. Most times the team signs 1 or 2 try-outs, but honestly doubt he is one. Im being greedy cause he would be worth a few good memes. Who knows hes a LB(room on the team) and I know Rhule likes those fake energy types.....
-
All I can add is I did read that "browns clowney" didnt have the same negative press as his former teams. So Scott got a good loooong look at him, guess what..... they didnt even try to resign him and much like this year its taking him longer to find a team. Others hit on this too, panthers have the most cap space and he is like everyone in liking money. I thought failcons would make a offer at the start of FA......just like the draft all it takes is one team to over-pay. Plus he could be waiting for the browns to move baker, so they can offer more money too. I mean players that have the lazy rep, are in no hurries to sign cause OTAS, minicamp, lifting, etc...

In-season replacement Nixon was worse and he is one of Rhules top hands....

If they were not loaded at CB, Id be alll for it. Bradberry doesnt fit what the coaching staff wants at CB. Hes not a track star.... Panthers will be cutting some decent CBs - pride and melvin

Ive been wanting clowney for years, forgive me Im very weak when it comes to freakshows. Im the larry david gif about him. Do I want him around these young defenders?? Hell naw... Do I want to pay him what he thinks hes worth?? HELL naw.. Do I swear off broke women with great ratios and break that within 5 months? HELL YES Hes a lazier peppers that had a severe knee injury. FYI kids- Scott finesserererre was in Seatle when (at the time) stole him from Houston and BOB......turned out it was a wash. Still if its low for starting DE(like around 7 million or less).....and you have the "I need you to be leader for the young men in this building" talk.....go for it. Browns have peppers 2.0, it is no wonder he got 9 sacks, plus a team full of 1st rounders to take heat off clowney. Hes like the boss' s son, been skating by base on winning the gene pool lottery.

The one thing that is nagging at me about our QB pick...

Were you one of the huddlers I was "fighting" with about calling the defense a top 5 unit around week 8ish? I had it out with a few huddlers calling this defense elite, told them its 100% fools gold and they quoted stats. Funny as ALLLL HELL they were no were to be found come week 15, no relies, no more elite talk.....sorta like the weak excrement LG/4corn pulled after their hero Howell free fell in the draft. I will say form the time Rhule has gotten here, I do like the direction he is trying and the only players worth their jerseys on D were- Shaq(who 90% of the huddle hated) Djack('''''), and this is a looooong way form the other two MHaynes.....thats nothing and see the reason for all D draft. I will say it again- the fastest defense in the league. That is a feat.
-
What I think - within 15 minutes on the practice field you will know what type of hopes can be. 2 weeks you will have a great idea if Corral can start at any point this season. FYI- someone correct me if Im wrong- Sam Darnold has never played a full season in his NFL career, if thats right no need to worry....corral will get a look at some point in this season.

Round 6 Pick 189: Amaré Barno, EDGE, Virginia Tech
Basbear replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
I love the wide 9 for Barno. Watching jim schwartz Ds will make people a believer of wide 9. Not going to get my hopes up in any way, I do feel he needs to be locked in the weight room for 1 year with nothing but brown rice and lean meat. -
You could be right. Could have been ANY coach replaced RR and Djack had the same results mainly due to timing. I know he did add around 15 of clean weight once Rhule got here, but who knows if that was due to Rhule/crew. Djack is a hard to figure out. I do think he learned to play hurt as well and during that you are not going to have your full tool-belt. SO you better not lean on your speed soo much. I think he was playing hero ball/free lancing too. He just older, wiser, and became a pro. Lastly Scary terry did that every other CB he played, that guy is elite and doesnt get the attention. Hes in the top 1% of WRs.
-
Good post here- its hard to say and I could build a case either way for alll those question at the start. This isnt a player improve deal, but I can say this- in 2 years this is the fastest D in the league. That is something, given everything about losing 60% of the players and 99% of the leadership. Wish that translated to less points, but that is a improvement and I much rather the defensive to be the fastest >>>> slowest.

Round 6 Pick 189: Amaré Barno, EDGE, Virginia Tech
Basbear replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yea that will help, even Burns dropped into coverage with Snow callin plays. He can follow, but nearly all add weight coming to the NFL and unless he can be a 270 LB......edge is his spot. Personally never a fan, maybe one time a game I want my edge dropping back in coverage. Many "WTFs" were had when I saw peppers do it. I do want to look into the Baylor D more, cause the reddick-style edge was unique. I think they truly want to have that D in the NFL as their base. Lastly I do feel the panthers have the fastest D in the whole NFL. -
Round 6 Pick 189: Amaré Barno, EDGE, Virginia Tech
Basbear replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think its a uphill battle for him just to make the team, love the pick and all. No issue for a mid-round 6th. That said, think him as a gunner! or a 3rd and long specialist. I think weight room is his path and that means DL.
