Many moons ago, I gave serious brain waves towards figuring out the stock market. Years later I still havnt the smallest clue.......*BUT hedge fund guys like tepper once they identify a losing stock, they cut bait without thinking about the process it took in getting the stock. I think he did this with frank as well, he came to conclusion that frank can not fix the team and fired him without thinking 9 months ago he gave him a 4 year deal. Heres another thought Ive had recently. Hes seen lots of football minded people make mistake after mistake, given his massive ego.......tepper believes in his heart of hearts he can do better. In closing Im still pissed at Mary herniay. He went out and hired matt rhule and thats where this whole panther ship started to sink. I hated rhule, but I reminded myself- " YEA BAS, marty hired fox and rivera, those are two solid overall hires...." That set the whole QB hell-hole and if there were decent NFL people on staff, baker or darnold would have worked out well enough not to trade moore and prime picks for middle school QB that our scouts handed pick to save this sunken ship....

Panthers need to move on from Young ASAP
Basbear replied to ProcessBlue2's topic in Carolina Panthers
Sal Pal prefers trey lance over BY. I prefer PJ walker over BY. This will not be a rosen or lance type of trade, league knows hes not worth even a 2029 8th rounder. Trade talks starts at 10 min, but I thought some would like his other BY comments. -

I agree, but the issue with that is if BY is no longer in your long term plans and you no longer believe in him...... you can not keep dead weight like that on the roster. ugh........ sean payton(yuck) gave up on wilson with knowing it would be 85,000,000 in dead cap. He still moved on I got no clue on the HC or staff for 2025, but you got to part ways with BY. I always thought PJ walker was better and hes a FA, to me that means the panthers try as they may..... will release BY. Who knows there are suckers and "i can fix him" coaches out there. I mean fitterererer was the worst , but somehow he was able to trade greg little, dennis danly, and robbie anderson. Its best for both sides to move on, even if comes to cutting him with a 22,000,000 penalty. -
I don’t understand the the hate on Tepper for Bryce getting benched

his contract is the issue now, too much dead cap and the whole thing is guaranteed. no chance the nlpa would allow him to redo his contract. 0.0 chance best outcome- off-season trade for peanuts and 22,000,000 gets added to the dead cap. panthers take 4 years to overcome this set-back, just get back to neutral. -
Assuming it's done do you select a qb this year or wait?
Basbear replied to Panthero's topic in Carolina Panthers
The key simply is gathering young talents at every single position not manned by dbrown. -

not to mention gonk and many other ring chasers came to TB. they have low-key been drafting good for years and the year TB came they also had wirfs fall to them in draft. he is looking like the best young LT out there. they got lucky with Shaquil Barrett was the #3 OLB on denver and he showed #1 play for years. plus coofus. it was a perfert storm of drafting good, goat, most FA signees were mega hits, coofus= _______ -
Matthews is too positive influence on the team. Leota is leading the team in sacks. Can not allow ANY of that stuff, get them off the 53 and humbled them by PS signing.
-
Teams are much better at identifying talents(*except the panthers), which means the odds theres some mario addison flowing around on a teams PS, ultra low in 2024. Panthers have the worst scouting department, they dont even know what to look for on PS. I think half the players they claimed off waviers are already cut. Teams just dont cut real talent or reach the PS these days. Plus the pool is 16-17 players in not long ago times it was just 8.

NFL is a legal money printing machine. At seasons end tepper will clear around 225,000,000 in net profit. Theres is no chance will sell or give that up, all the gods could not pull it away form his hands...

Johnson, the best I can watch between crying........Hes playing well and one of the few bright spots. A few times he was winning his 1 vs 1s. and I hate the hate, hes close to making some plays if he keeps up his play level.

I was telling huddlers this team lost talent and most dis-agreed. Luvu is a legit difference maker, his replacement is playing like dogshit. I thought jewell had a better understanding of everos D, but he looks lost and weak.

Bryce got benched, but the problem is still the problem
Basbear replied to CRA's topic in Carolina Panthers
Ugh, this will be impossible. Tepper is lots of whats wrong. My deal is he wants to win just as much as anyone, just what I believe. (yes he loves money, who doesnt..) Now the problem #2 problem or #1 problem is who the panthers are employing(well Bas who is hiring these people???) This scouting department is total trash. Thats the main problem, they are by far the worst in the NFL at identifying talent. Its basically that simple. Football Personnel Cole Spencer Director of Player Personnel Jared Kirksey Director of College Scouting David Whittington Assistant Director of College Scouting Robert Haines National Scout Lee McNeill Pro Scout Adam Maxie Pro Scout Juston Burris Pro Scout Corey Fuller Area Scout - Southwest Caden McCloughan Area Scout - West Jordan Trgovac Area Scout - Mid-Atlantic Brad Obee Area Scout - Midwest Kaleb Leach Area Scout - Northeast & International Colton Chapple Area Scout - West Coast Los Delgado Chief of Staff Claire Stokes Manager of Player Personnel Justin Davidov Football Administration Coordinator Benjamin Contrino Football Analytics Manager Mike Lounsberry Football Research Analyst Christopher Smith Scouting Assistant Jackson Block Scouting Assistant Gabby Weinrich Scouting Assistant There are the faces of the worst football department in all of football. Some have made it form the 1st herniay era and couple new seahawk people form fittererererer. The hardest problem is finding great scouting staff and the panthers are sending Mike Trgovacs daughter to scout football players!! Geee, I wonder why this is the worst roster what will be 2 years running?? Who is the south east scout......thats the most important one, and whoever it is, they are awful. Fire the lot and take teppers purse and hire a real proven scouting staff. The strength staff is god awful too. The team has played weak and slow for years. Fire all of them as well and hire some westside barbell guru. Its a people problem. -
The talks were the asst TE coach (current panther TE) and others(carroll) that came form Seattle had Lock right next to Geno Smith in terms of talents and abilities. Dont you remember Dave Canales saying they wanted another veteran QB here to help?? that was directed at Drew Lock. They just held him high air and thought he could be legit QB.
-
Take this for whatevers. I heard they went "hard" as they could after Drew Lock and gave him a contract that was by far the highest. But Drew thought it was easier path to starting on the giants and took less for the higher chance to play. But the current staff thought very high of lock. I think during the off-season they sign Drew Lock and let he have the job. My guess.

What I heard is he looks like a GOD in practice and similar to B. Y . when the game lights are on, he folds like a 3 dollar chair. Still I loved the pick same for iants picking ratter whom I didnt care but at the 5-7 rounds why not QB?? given the odds are poor. Milton could sit for 3 years and have a break-though and be a star. Ive heard form long time coaches he had the best arm they have seen. ALLL sort of stories, but game time you dont see any of it. For some thats some rare tease hate. In FF I use to hate hate hate the type of player to have a 30 point game and follow it with 2,4, and 2. Like get that off my roster, in a way thats Milton, hes ultra tease of "what IF"

My question is now- When Dave interviewed for this job, he had to say "I can fix him"....Now just 2 games and he failed, what now? Lets say dalton does a tiny bit better, but team still goes 1-16 or 0-17. Hes lost the lockerroom and 31st-32nd in all offense ranks while the defense is 18-23rd. No fans in the bank nor at the road games, Does tepper go tepper and fire him at seasons end?
-
love is in the air....

This was my first thought as well, tepper not only heard the boos, *but the wine and cheese PSLers got to him about not wanting any part of BY. The clear #1 reason for any tepper decision=$$$$$$$. Loads of long term PSL had already dropped them, it closes to point when you lose more by playing him than worry about benching him. I forgot who, (but 20/20 and all) but one of the WFNZ guest had a brilliant idea about BY. He said last week and before the seasons start- the smart play was to treat this like another rookie year and sit BY for the first few games. He mention how hard it was to learn one offense playbook and now BY had to learn two along with new voices, coaches, and teammates. Give BY a soft reset and allow him back into lineup when the flow was right. I didnt agree or disagree, nor thought it was smart.....but now....this was the correct method to solving the QB problem.

SO you have seen enough of Bryce Young now?? In honestly- it doesnt matter who is the HC for the next two years, might as well be someone like canales. Much like frank, he knew after 15mins of watching young practice what his faith was. No HC in history is winning with this group of lower level players.
