The CB market is insane, I know each FA period there's always crazy contracts. These CBs getting huge money are unknowns even to most super fans.

FA Splash: Panthers sign Jaelan Phillips EDGE
Basbear replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
yes you can question 1000s of veritables. I mean you can punch someone with a bare fist and then fit a 5 Lb composite glove and there's a different result. Plus the focus is on the person getting hit, but the person giving the hit can get injuries/concussed too. (Same would go for the hand) I know the NFL lowered the league concussions greatly by just limting practices and then KOs aka the old school wedge. I know you'll agree with just strengthening neck muscles would reduce them too, hell that maybe the best solution. Make all teams train neck muscles...... Panthers better have a safr helmet cap waiting for Jalen Phillips..... -

he played all in 21, 22, and recent 25. Again the problem is concussions- he already retired once from them. He had 3 in college and recent one week 15 for iggles. He needs the best helmet teppers money can buy... -
look at the dead money for phins....holy Jesus its near 150 million...
-
isn't it close to 100million in cap money for QB in 26?

its 80 guaranteed ....... that's a load......hell is this more than the Cam contract?? It maybe the highest panther contract in history....I think that was around 110, but my brain is soup.... -
the 45 million guarantee tho..... that's the deal. It could be 45 for 1 year....

The Bills have re-signed veteran interior offensive lineman Connor McGovern to a four-year, $52 million contract
-
Dang that's not bad for Mays, especially when you factor in what raiders gave Tyler..... I thought Mays may get 10, 7.25 isn't crazy like 27 or 22. I think Panthers are done, only min type deals.

I drove into his injury history and its down right scary. Im not talking about ACL, achilles, core, or ankles.... He had 3 concussions in college......... He just had one in week 15 with eagles.. He needs the best helmet in history, this is awful news. At any point he's retiring, like he already did in college.... -

Morgan's Lessons Learned: Reflections on Tampering Eve
Basbear replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
Thanks again @MHS831 for making content to read!! I don't have any insight into their FA process. My guess is they have MANY plans and back ups, I believe they were very prepared heading into the FA. They already signed Wharton minutes after Milton wanted more than dbrown money. SO that tells me they already sent a contract to Wharton's agent and they agreed to terms if "this other deal falls off". Bobby brown was included too, they already had the backup plan in place. Milton Williams is a beast and it would have been great in a Panthers uniform, but open market and other team with more cap space....It was the right move not to pay him more than your best player playing the same spot. My personal opinion on this too- Wharton overworked himself too much and thus got injured more as a result. Wharton put too much pressure on himself, he pulled a CMC. I think he will have a great 2nd season in a big bounce back(quote me/bump/whatever). The deal is for WEEKS GMs/team execs have already agreed to rough terms for contracts. (My personal belief) Now it comes down to relationships, medicals(huge one), and just bizarre deals. The top 40-70% already know where they are signing. Just comes down to the relationship(agent-to-team exces), family(are the wife and kids happy moving or they want to stay? the girl friends too..), and those pesky medical evaluations from team doctors. Another big deal is the players has to want to come play for you in that area. The team could have all the money in the perfect city setting for a young player, but he doesn't want to go for _______ reasons. Its a combo of agreements. I've already started to worry that Tmac is a west coast cat and he's counts the days until he can head there..... -
me too, Kenny "fuging" Pickett??!?!? A few huddlers have been telling me over and over that Panthers(Dan/Dave/tep/___) would not bring in legit competition for BY...... I swear if they think Kenny "drop that old burger small hands gif here" Pickett is insurance and the solution to Panthers future QB issue???.....Id hate for them to be right and....... this alone makes me want to fire the every single member that choose this "solution". fuging bring in talent!! worrying about hurting the little guys feels, I just.......fuging circus BS. this better not be true.

I changed my mind and going against the current agenda, I think proctor is a legit OT and worth picking in the teens. The recent giant guy outcomes has hurt his value, I think he breaks that so long his weight is undercontroll. I see him as he is - mountain 5 star athlete with good feet that doesn't give up sacks in the SEC. He's moves better than I thought. Like alllll these men in the draft, he needs coaching and reps. I think he's got the highest upside of any OLmen in the draft. Now Id love for him to be ava when Panthers pick at 19 or else where. People are over analyzing him just like Tmac.

I love these two draft just the same as the best ones Ive done, great jobs bros. I like both the safety targets and the wait to draft each, it paid off big. Freeling has LT traits and that means he shot to the top of my wants. I think each of you got 3-5 starters and great upside with the other picks. Again, Panthers need talent, I think its the correct move to take upside players in the 5-7 rounds, no matter the position.
