I thought it was a nothing to lose type of trade, 6th for 7th and a current WR/PK. Most teams have already thrown darts starting in the 5th. Plus the panthers needed a PK returner. Most chiefs fans were upset too, but claimed they didnt have room......in the past weeks thats been funny too....
-
Yea theres plenty to question with this staff. Sure theres not 5 TEs on current team, but they tried their hardest. Frank/Thomas nearly always run the same 3 WRs with ONE TE.......The same slot adam, "slot" mingo, and no longer burner/fast clark.......besides adam, this combo has never worked and its the base. Just awful and who can not do what clark has done?? Agree with smith-marette. All the reports about Jefferson being one of best WR coaches are false. Same for Mccrown being some HC leader in waiting. This staff has not made any improvement, its the same joke pre-season results.

As if we needed more reasons to hate Jimmy Clausen...
Basbear replied to CamWhoaaCam's topic in Carolina Panthers
I thought it was a great value pick at he time and it was .......(only shoppers know) The rumor was marty was calling the late 1st until his own pick about trading for jimmy. Lucky panthers no one took his offers. Just didnt work, I wasnt a fan, but by 48th pick was 100% behind it. Fox and rookie QBs was always a terrible match. -
Ive been meaning to make a thread about WR coach jefferson, campy, Mccown, and duce. They all done piss poor and were labeled as saviors etc. frank took most of the heat and they deserve most of it.

Former 3rd rounder in 2019 and just was starting the last games, guess new HC wanted what he was. try out for the future 2024 team, got time with a couple coaches new being he played on the rams for 4 years.

Do you know who got cut or was there a open spot?? For some odd reason they have kept 1-2 open roster spot for most of the year.....

So while the debate rages on, anyone/everyone please answer this. Luvu is at a similar pace as last year- Please list the players that had 111 tackles, 19 (TFL)tackle for loss and 7 sacks. He also had an INT return for a TD in 2022 as the cherry on top, but stick to the first three stats. Use the history of the NFL as well. But I will wait, btw he did those insane numbers as a 4-3 OLB another feat in itself.
-
It was no contest, much like this year. Your my guy and all carl so no disrespect, but did you watch all the games form last year? Plus have you watch this years too?
-
Yep Ive seen farrr too many unblocked or missed assignments defender get a free sack and act like they won the lotto. Luvu had a couple of them, but hes also destroyed some 340 LB OLman on the way to making a sack or TFL. Luvu is making, no hes willing/forcing the play to happen. Hes stepped up huge in the pass defense this year as well.
-
It doesnt, but it backed up him being the best defender last year. He constantly making plays, thats what the best ones do. Now he has for 1.5 seasons. This year aside, is this another debate for you about luvu not being the best defender in 2022? He clearly was for the fans that could watch.

Hes my favorite offense player and this season hes getting pushed around like hes cosplaying paradis. Just looks like a different player. He did look better on the double teams with colbert back. I now think Chirst was 10x more important to the OL, seems he was the glue for both icky and boz. Both of them mentally look broken most snaps. Maybe colbert being back and playing zone before will improve this 31st unit.
-
Yup hes never got over the groin issue form pre-season. Manned up week 1 and the following ones prolonging the healing time, then he got another injury to his shoulder. OL has done him no favors either. About half his runs, hes met in 4 yards in the backfield by 2-4 defenders.
-
I agree, hes looking a slot in-waiting.......that makes me more upset about him being 39th overall pick. Right now the future looks like a young leading a dink and dunk for mingo and tremble...... fyi mingo is the youngest and tremble is only 23.

i have a huge doubt hes ready in 1 or 2 weeks.

Enough time has passed - Feedback on the new playcaller
Basbear replied to Varking's topic in Carolina Panthers
@Varking brother I can not even figure much after 8 games of this unit. Young killed what felt like 55% of the plays when frank was play caller. So whos at fault there for the 18 points per showing?? One game were it took a 4th quarter come back along with a 4th and 2 mid-field, to score 15 points. Thats not much to go on for the good. I do know this- The OL blows dumpster water. Christ was 10x more important than I thought. Too much for a rookie QB and new(to the team/system) WRs to over come a OL unit that can not run block or pass block cause they are too busy committing penalties. -
The main debate was Burns or Luvu were/is panthers best defender. I said Luvu was the best last year(clearly). Then I would revisit this after a few&you claimed it was Burns. Besides one first quarter this year, its been ALLLLLLLLLLL LLLuvu ALLLLLLL the time. Last year showed the same show.
-
Us fans do not get to see the mega work and sacrifice these players put into coming back from was once a career ender/derailer. Some of the players truly love the game, cobert just showed hes one.
-
Yes I forget what insider said this but, it was like - " Frank and rhule want totally different type players across the team". You can not flip 50 players in one year. It was too much to overcome given the 0-6 start with the weak O and roller coaster D. Nearly a 98% new staff and total new thoughts and system, plus a rookie QB.
-
Guess the raiders were getting alll upset at Zona being the worse NFL ran team and made a play for that label. at least the panthers are not the raiders or cardinals....
-
I had too given Luvu playing out of mind, same as last year. Got to open these fans eyes&minds! Plus Id said I would revisit this and well....

Official Trade Deadline & Speculation Thread
Basbear replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
finding great 4-3 DEs is ultra hard and may take 10+ years to find one. Wash just traded 2 like a bunch of smooth brains, WTF?!?! No chance RR signed off, I wouldnt have traded one of them. They should have given young his 5th year even with his injury history. Signed sweat(whos better than burns) for the market rate. terrible, of course herniay was on this staff.... -
Story was he felt disrespected by the panthers offer, especially after he ran hard late into the season. Then he took less to join the bears as result. The RB market is beyond unfair and fitts has been getting allll sort of heat. He doesnt want a 16 million player there nor to invest over the current market rate, no matter how low it is. I agree, feelings get hurt in the process.....
