  1. Or panthers playing 8.7 chess to fool the league into thinking they are
  2. Most of those guys would have gotten within 10/15% of the contract jags handed them(maybe not crazy zay Jones...). Sure teams have to spend within cap rules, but where the jags did shows they are trying to help. 200 million on WR&TEs is better for Trevor than DL&DBs, you know this. Kirk was injured some as well, the year before he had a breakout 1,100 and 8 TDs. I admitted being a non-fan of each and super disagree with the contracts, but its on Trevor to play better than his current pace. The jags have masked his bad playing with their surprise wins. Many of the wins came with ugly QB play, but it was a weird year for the jags(each year some fluky team wins with bad QB play). With two years along side Doug Peterson, he's not gotten better either and that is Doug's specialty. Why hasn't jags give him the bag? Why doesn't Trevor sit out in protest? he could given the fans feelings.....
  3. I still feel the Sean Gilbert trade is still the worse, but.......if young does a 2023 repeat.......I mean that's got to challenge the top spot. most of fitterererers trades were not with heavy ammo, expect darnold and young. 5th for Baker but our terrible staff could not help him. He did get draft picks for Robby Anderson, Greg little, and Dennis daley all of them were considered pure trash. CJ Henderson and a 5th for a out of the league TE Dan Arnold and 3rd, that was a wash. Laviska Shenault was got for a 6th and 7th for two years of meh play and IRs, another wash/meh/no winner. The draft trades were in panthers favors, *but he did not select good players with the extra picks. I still feel the herniay has a lead in bad trades due the early usage of picks. But if you factor in greg Olson trade, that its self was a top 20 NFL history trade. Just the Edwards, otah, brown ones hurt.....I even remember when he traded a 5th for "tank" DT who played at NC State and fell asleep during meeting and was off the team next year. Both had unreal pressure to get back2back winning seasons form the owners, it had to play a role in most of other awful trades.
  4. I would say Kirk and honestly Im not a fan of his. But he did have nearly 1,200 yards his first year there. I think you said the jags were not doing him favors, but my guy they have spent 200 million on WR&TEs in two years. Even if I wasn't a fan of the names, that's one HUGE favor. Jags have the same problem as Panthers, no one wants to play for each unless the over-pay is in play. IMO the jags vastly overpaid for those WRs and TE. I mean they didn't let ridley walk per say, they waited until the draft comp was a 3rd rather than a 2nd. Once the date happened, titans came in with that insane offer that ridley had to take even after waiting for the jags as a favor.
  5. That year in the NFL, learning, growing how to be pro. It's highly valueable to me. It puts that player and team one full year and two off-seasons ahead. It almost like which would rather have 1,000 dollars today or 1,111 dollars April 21st 2025? For me gimme that 1k and I hope to turn it into more before next year......
  6. Call the team that did this ultra awful trade-
  7. No team is dumb enough to trade a first the 33rd.... too bad panthers can not trade with themselves........ God I hate that fitterererere was worse than hernaiy....
  8. He was hailed as the next big thing, no other QB since luck had the hype. Facts are he's been average AT BEST and below average for periods as well. Take away the college orange and 1st overall, I doubt they would have stuck with him that long. Plus why haven't the jags gave him the 500 million bag, hmmm...??? I KNOW..... they know what I know!! Its soooo hard for college fans to see the truth, I get it.... Theres been enough time and just more QBs have played better than him than not.
  9. That's tevors whole career, like I said some good and some bad, NOT elite. Jones didn't have his team drop 100+ million on WRs and another 40 million on a TE. They just spent another 40 million on a WR this year after all that. It's all there if you look at the facts. Its just lots of average at times, poor others, and couple elite. I just remember watching two of his games this last year, both were awful even though jags won both.
  10. First 48 career starts Trevor Lawrence- 20-28 W-L 85.5 Pass Rating, 55/35 Pass TD/INT, 12,204 Pass+Rush Yds 6.7 Yards/Att Daniel Jones; 19-29 W-L, 85.4 Pass Rating, 55/33 Pass TD/INT, 11,992 Pass+rush Yds, 6.7 Yards/Att Well, well, well........ any comments now??
  11. I did see only one game and he was awful. He's not the reason for the wins either.
  12. They spent 100+ million on WRs, traded for riley, and got QB guru Doug Peterson. He just not reached the level most thought, he's been too much bad mixed with less good.
  13. Yes he's got a couple high points, but many more lows point. His bar was space high and he's average mixed with below average. Jags have won out of spite, even after spending heavy offense. Peterson is a QB guru and he's gotten worse. Jags should bring in legit competition.
  14. This just proves how foolish it is to trade up for a QB. BTW "the chosen one" Trevor Lawrence has been rather bad too, jags honestly need to start looking for better options. Right now for only 4th, 6th, and swap of 7s an NFL team could have Fields, lance, and Wilson as their QB room. Plus all would be under cheap rookie deals without the SB. Just insane to think about that in 2021...
  15. For me it depends on who told legs this. Did tepper, Morgan or Canales tell him this? Or some trainer or scout type give him the love story bit. I find it awful hard that Morgan or canales told him a couple times.
  16. Heres the deal, teams don't just call one other team, they nearly call all the ones in front of you and behind. So most have already turned down a similar offer thats being offered to you. The old saying it takes two to tango. You have to want/willing to trade down and the other has to want/willing to offer a package to do so. Then you have this deal- team picking 34 is willing to only take extra 3rd, while 33rd team wants that 3rd and a future 2nd. Then you know 33rd is not picking a QB/___, so its makes more sense to trade with the cheaper 34th team. Darin is right, unless it's an unreal offer, take your true BPA at 33rd and get ready for 39th...
  17. That's been me for weeks. CB feels like the best case for 33rd, THEN use 39 on C or WR...but BPA BPA BPA. *Only way Id see passing a dropping CB is if somehow Barton dropped as well, 1% chance. Deal is someone has to drop, but recent years teams are overdrafting CBs....same as WRs. #2 CB is the biggest hole, that could change if Colbert doesn't figure out C. Just Horn has proven he can not play even a half season, so Donte and PS guy are your starting CBs?!?!?! No way can you allow that. Plus I don't see a 34 year old Gilmore getting 8 million as a solution either. I just can not see how the Panthers draft two defenders with those picks, it would be pick forks and torches..... But to me if both are clear BPA, why not?? It's not like a WR would make a 5 win addition to this sad roster. Plus Ive seen plenty of WRs there at 65 that many would draft at 33&39. Even 101 has walker and few others that should be there.
  18. I was surprised to see the 33rd pick was only traded for 2 or 3 times since 2000. I thought it would be much higher. No RB will be drafted in the 1st. It's almost a lock. No TE or RB is worth the 33 or 39, just a off year for both groups. (given Bowers is a top 10 pick, but he's sorta small and slow......) Plus I think the last 10 TEs drafted in the first round only one has made a pro bowl and that was 30 year old David Njoku this past year. Better to wait until 3-5 rounds"same for RBs" It's not the year for RBs, brother. You best bet is if brooks last til 65, then you can start the RB bus.....
  19. It's a big need that's over looked by us fans (like CB), shaq is coming off a bad leg injury and in what maybe his last year as a panther. Nothing but wavier claims and UDFAs are waiting on the bench, so now is the time to find one...maybe 2 given the new KOs. Bill said you need more size and shed blocks, that's LB/OLB. He also said there were 1,500+ KOs last year, its a bigger chance than we know. Just sooo hard to fill all the Panthers needs this draft with only picks 33, 39, and 65. MLB is one of spots were starters can be found in the 5-UDFA range. Dan needs to have a great UDFA haul for the long term build.
  20. Yep.... My main deal for the up coming season is to find if the QB can play or not. Don't care about wins, just if young is a NFL QB or not. in 2025.......so much is needed still. Honestly the same draft form this this year is needed for next- 2 WRs 1-C 1- MLB 1- edge 1- DB/CB 1- TE Its also a big year for icky too........maybe bigger than young cause I can not watch that vomit play 2023 again. Same deal, time to figure it buddy.... Plus its going suck hard if evero gets a HC elsewhere given most of the defensive players are here cause of him.
  21. My personal take- RB market is in the most unstable era. For one its very very low in cost and the talent available each year is 8-14 players most years. Not to mention all the cuts. Right now Id have drop all RBs a couple rounds. Just would not draft one cause a proven bunch is going for 5mill+/- each FA period. I am a huge TE fan, my goal would be to control the middle of the field. History shows rounds 3-5 is where to get one. I think the last 10 TE drafted in the first round only one has made a pro bowl and that was 30 year old David Njoku this past year. They are soooo undervalued, no other player has to block some 6'5 280 monster and on the next play run a deep post against some 4.2 speed water bug guy. I'd have two of the highest paid TEs and no one would know if its a pass or run. I don't like this years class, but always up to draft one......starting in the 3rd....
