  1. I swear with pcikett added, this HAS to be a bottom 3 draft room. Id take raiders over Panthers, about the only two Id say are lower Jets? Cards? that's about it. There's around 4-5 other groups in the talk, but Ive seen 3 years of BY and even a Murray or Sanders or Ward feel like a better options than Pickett or BY.... Im Soo happy about the other position group and the draft picks, then I think of the QB room and
  2. I think Andy Reid taught me a lesson many moons ago. I always seem to find myself with a small group of players at the draft spot and thus more confused than normal. Andy- draft DL, you can not go wrong. They rotate more than other spots and get injuries more as well. Mind spark, "yes he's right". Thus I formed some draft "rules" over the years. Then college rules changed as well, thus les time for OL to learn the position. There's 3 spots I feel you need to draft every year- WR, OL, and DL. Of course not "100%", just each draft pool use 3 out of the 8 picks on those 3 is a good method. Each for different reasons, but Andy started it with his wisdom.
  3. I was a former draft nut and had ample time in the 2010s. I too researched about the consensus top 150, it made me hate marty herniay more. Like you the other teams not knowing, it killed my "want to" to spend the hours. Teams are soooo much better now, but during that time it was after the mid 3rd, then everyone had different draft boards now. After early 5th, pure dart tossing by some teams. I stopped caring sooo much about the 6th and 7th rounds too(minus the Trey Smith >> LS, smith is the highest paid OG now).. Before like that I never cared much about about the draft, then I went full-draft nut...now Im more of a "normie" draft fan with cheats. Just a panther fan and whoever they pick, I try to support to my best....Even with BY, a was 100% against, but gave him until "I didn't do anything this off-season" with his his tooth-tick arms and "whatever mindset"/////. I mean I know much more around the guys in 15-30 than the top 10, except styles...... I've gone thought all draft phases, the current one is the best one for now...
  4. That the point of using the mocks, at least for me. I too, do not follow college like I use too. Now you can use the mock sim and learn about players within the picks(or course it changes if trades happen). Still I look at pick 13-18 (same for other rounds)and include that into learning, cause even these draft sims don't know how teams will draft. Then you factor in needs and wants and BANG you have "cheated" your way into becoming a draft...a panther draft "expert". You can also use the public knowledge of player visits and layer it over the mock sims too, gives you another understanding. You don't need to "research" 150 players, just the ones around when Panthers are schedule to pick. Then you form "favorites" and such to make the draft more interesting. Now I've exposed myself, wave to those Canadian geese for me......
  5. I got you a pre-view https://old.reddit.com/r/KansasCityChiefs/comments/1jzv6it/highlight_dontari_poe_being_a_unit_on_offense/
  6. I think this is the guy with the biggest calfs in the league, like grown man Steve Smith calfs. I doubt its little over the min, no issue with bringing in former early picks for those types of deals. I mean maybe he can QB sneak.......(half joking)
  7. We need to see how that plays out before handing out the props. 2027 7th for 4 million in 2026 cap space seems like a great deal for Panthers if that's the case. 4-8(incentives) million is the going bottom rate for backup QBs, I think Dalton was right there in the 4 range. Well bonus, BY no longer wearing Huggies now....(just holding Pickett's ting hand now..)
  8. Best I got is AJ brown directs some some of "QB hate" from hurts to the rusty rifle... I mean did philly also take his salary too?? He had like 2.25 in guarantees and if so that lowers his cap increases his cap relief from 100,000 to 4,000,000+. That was a big issue from a release standpoint, 4 mill in cap space... I believe he also has around 2 mill in dead cap, but still better than 100,000 total..
  9. Honestly he is about 50/50 to make the roster this year. Draft will be big if a early 1-3 pick is used on DL, that would drop his odds to like 20%.
  10. its a 2 yr deal and I think its the going rate for bottom 1/3 of punter contracts. My members is he did pretty good for inside 20 and overall better than the QB ram dude.... I was about to start looking at the rookie punters, no lie... A couple punter signed new highest deal around 4 years 14 million this FA...
  11. You simply cannot trust a true rookie FS. He has no clue at the levels of confusion and the level of athletes he is going against. Hed need to study non-stop in order to not be a total spaz. Its just one of weird spots.
  12. Its criminal that the upcoming season is mainly in the tiny hands of BY. I still member the time I did a full turn, if you member his first off-season from that Panthers all-time worst team....... Answering questions at his first presser, he goes along the lines " I didn't do nothing, no weight room or throwing" " I needed to get away". I was fully out with him, the guy didn't even try to improve his football mind, body, strength, in the biggest joke of panther football. I could not believe it, what a leader or dare say "point guard"(lols @ NBA point guards as a ref)
  13. thats fair. I was beginning to think rookie punter was in the plans
  14. Surprised CB is that low. 19th is odd spot. For many recent drafts, teams only felt there were around 14 first round players. So to many 19 is just an early second and doesn't hold the value of a first. If you go off- the smart path of LT, QB, edge, WR, CB, etc. Whatever your OG, Safety, ILB, etc needs to be a difference maker, that's the key point. I've said the 8th best edge is better than the 1st safety. Same for QB and even WRs. You should 100% factor in position value. MHS you've been wanting a FS, let me tell you its super difficult to be a difference making FS. You're just sooo farrrr away from the action and the end result most times. If you're in the play, defense made mistakes in order. Now to talk out of both sides, maaaaaann that white boy from Oregon....I thought he crushed the combine and honestly that alone made me rethink "is he worth 19 now?!?!" he's now in the discussion for me, but still below others. Plus I feel TE is vastly underrated in value terms. But looking at the last 20 years of TEs in the first, its down right bad. You're better like X10 better drafting one in 4th or 5th.
  15. @TheSpecialJuan or @CarolinaLivin start a seasons saved thread, Panthers re-signed punter sam martin, two year deal
  16. nick just got a bonus- extra 1,262,216, dang that's a nice bag...
  17. I agree, Im getting worse. Even getting C Pat at pick 200 doesn't save this group. Its very boring too. I need a total reset and I have others that I feel are worse than this..... I've never been this bad over the years either.
  18. If you check next year there's 50 mill in cap space, * without this years draft class or next. 5+ should allow this year given its top 51. Next it jumps and you need another 5-10 mill for 27 draft class. Most team like to carry 10 into each season for injuries. It goes fast....... I feel it pains as a "hater" *but* if my fav Panthers team decides BY is thee guy......(just how...)... I feel they should offer that malik Willis contract as the goal and base for a contract. I believe they feel strong enough to sign these top FA, they are going for it right now........ So that hurts my idea of drafting a starting QB in 27 or even 26....Its hard to reset "going all-in" with a rookie QB learning the NFL game. Hell who knows what QB will be cut after this year too, no one thought Tua or Murray was getting cut before this past season, NO ONE. Watson could be a FA at any point this or next. Honestly wildcard in this mofo is using the 19th on TY simp, let him learn at his own pace and flip BY for a mid pick or just ride him for the whole 5th year. Now you have a low cap hit young QB that's been learning for 2 years and you got him for the next 3 if he's the guy.....why not!?!?!!?
  19. People that watched the games for the whole season and were not jaded by early season struggles saw Nick get better each week. By the seasons end, he was NOT the weakest link, in fact he was playing at a high level even with rams testing him(he got a INT).
  20. TE room is still awful young, even tremble is 25 or so years old. I feel they just need to "breakout" and yes any of the three young ones could do that. Sanders has been on that "breakout" path and each time get a freak injury. Evans had a solid rookie season and can improve if he wants it enough. Tremble he's right there too, came in awful young and just needs to get over the hump. I feel the QB is holding them back.......
  21. Reveal- Until three weeks before his draft, I wanted Simmons >> Brown. I hate to say I didn't see his greatest flaw the first time, upon reviewing more clips and lucky listening to better scout. Simmons was shown not to enjoy contact/hitting. WHich is crazy given he played a joker type of LB and had tons of tacks and big plays. But it was there hidden in the slow mo and people that played the game, he didn't enjoy hitting. Given that's a huge part of defenders job, I dropped him from want/need list and lucky for everyone dbrown was there to be picked. Seems he's found a role or lane he's comfy in and willing to do and it does fit him once you disregard his draft status. Who knows, he maybe the NB for evero this year. He can still become a legit starter.
  22. Just about every position group on this team is legit right now, expect the QB room, its STILL one of the weakest in the NFL. Pickett made it weaker, holy hell Dan.......He needs to draft TY Simpson to save the team.....
  23. I can not draft a CB to save myself and Im still having big trouble in the 3rd round. Heres my "DAM IT I MISSED CB, but overall hauled in a bunch of good players" draft. Plus Dan has made it hard- Safety has 4 guys and the normal carry in-season. DL has 6, again normal carry WR has 6-7-8 too many Even ILB has Lloyd, wallance, Bam, and Ched that's enough for in-season. I feel OL and CB/NB/DB/weapon needs more from my drafts, I just follow the board tho.
