Hard Knocks will be the Buffalo Bills this year
Basbear replied to Captain Morgan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I watched each year until I dropped my NFL fandom. The jets year was great it gave many classic Rex lines. The epic response that Antonio Cromartie gave trying to name all his kids. Gruden was great too, both at TB and LA. I enjoied the Texans and Vincet Wilford shenanigans. I did not know I ultra hard-ass like Bill O'Brian came home to a disability child and showed a totally different side of his persona. Then I think teams took control of what gets released and I lost joy in FF&NFL in general, thus lame like 98% of the slop they release now...... Plus there's like what 5 or 6 other teams that have shows with similar content as hard knocks across all platforms. Id rather watch re-runs of married with children...... All the rookies shows are great most times. I still remember ravens being the first and Tony Siragusa bustin Shannon Sharpe balls. I liked the insight to coaches, Brian Billick was a genius .......who could not find a QB despite being a QB guru. I haven't watch in years tho... I miss the old times..... -
You don't tank week 1-10, only when the maths states you are out. At that point you have a losing season. In order to ensure that never happens again, you want the best value/odds to achieve the goal. That can come in trade value package or elite players via the 1st pick in each round. The worst thing that can happen is drafting 16-19th due to wins that you, I, and fans will never recall in future years....But I bet you remember those old playoff runs, right brother!!!! Keep Pounding! Keep Smart!!

I hope the Panthers are NEVER on that show. -
It was an awful go for all the rumor mill people, myself included. It seems the more I watched and read, the less was right. Plus no one on earth had Sanders in the 5th. No one had him to the browns after they spent a 3rd on QB, not one soul. The old saying was miss-information is in full effect until 1-2 weeks from the first draft day, this year it never stopped and barely any truth nuggets happened. Even the Panthers after 10 years of leaks, fooled 98% of fans, insiders, and podcasters. This Im happy about, great job for Brandt/Dan and the whole staff. BTW- Morgan must be one of the highest trade/movers come draft time. He must lead the league in not using the original pick. We will see if that pays off too.

Well, the Niners just doomed themselves to mediocrity

Im with you frend!! I've been Pro- purdy for years and gone rounds with @LinvilleGorge on it...BTW he is the matt rhule of QB opinions, love you LG!! *BUT* if you read that link I post.......Purdy himself stated he throws to a spot 40% of the time, that is self-incriminating damaging evidence.... I still need to think about it, I do not believe if I agree with my pre-40% blind throws self. I had him as the 8th-11th best QB, now I don't know... -
I did not, this reminds me of another live action type video game that never made it and has a huge cult following. Thanks for the 90s nostalgia frend!! My gods do I miss that era at USAs peak and it was my best on many aspects too.

Many layers my frend- Panthers had a draft recently. They picked 4 defense players. Each player picked 11, 22, 33, 55 as their number. For some players that number match the round or pre-draft round rank, example- Prince was a 3rd rounder and choose 33. Nic was a 1st rounder on some mock drafts and Dan Morgan said they had him as a 1st, he picked 11. Cam Jackson recently switched his number to 55, same as draft and has been telling Dave he wants to be special over and over. The 44 was to add GOAT feels, thoughts, and more intrigue to this rookie phenomenon. X files cause it was a great TV show and maybe it was playing when this theory came together....... I hope this helps!

I believe his best season was the contract year, the classic. I think the coaching staff did play a big role, Samuel needed one of the top talents to unlock his potential. The constant ratio of new coaches helps no one, especially players that need more attention on how to be used. -
That would be like picking your favorite child and you have 13 of them. Too hard for me, about 25 are in the same top shelf spot. I remember the pusher episode the most out the three you listed. I swear xfiles had some of the best villains.

Tru. Just the tin foil angle was rookie defenders and.....{applies more layers to head and body}......... Dan said Nic was a first rounder, some mocks had Ransom in the 2nd, Prince was a 3rd rounder and Cam was a 5th rounder...... JJJ adds 3 more layers along with goat comments...

Steven Losoya is a rookie too!!!!11!!! - confirmed panther ring of honor.... The others hurt my fun thread.....

If Renfrow can put JC horn in a blender like many of the CBs during his 21 season, I will gladly join the hype train.. Until then I got him on the PS working his way back into the NFL and hopefully replacing 35 year old ATs role next season as a 30 year old. Im glad he's here for this deep WR group, its long over due in this passing league to have around 10 legit level NFL WRs for the team(PS included). Plus I like having young group of WR with a young QB, while AT shows them how to be pros.

The Evolution of the Panthers WR Room from 2023 to 2025
Basbear replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
That year broke the last of my football soul..... I believed they could at least challenge for the super sorry NFC south.... so that 2024 first would be in the 20s and not as valuable as having a playoff team. I loved 95% of the coaching hires and I never care for most(I was 100% about rhule tho..) Such a let down and that team/year. It worst than the 1-15 season and expansion 95 Clemson year. My dumbass thought the odds were nicely in the Panthers favor, Im getting sick again..... -
11 - Nic Scourton 22 - Lathan Ransom 33 - Princely Umanmielen 44 - GOAT 55 - Cam Jackson

20 years God could not get an NFL rule changed, now they are rule change addicts. This is just like paying the college players, it went from one extreme side to the other. Stop and find the middle ground.

Im not firm on many things football, but this statement or belief or strategy I am 100% for. Full Offseason the goal is to make the playoffs. Week 1, 1000% I want to win. Weeks 2-10, 1000% I want to win. Until the math stats 0.000000000% chance at NO playoffs, I want to win. *Once* there's no chance at the playoffs, I want to 100% lose every game until the end. You are still loser at 2-15 or 5-12, I want to never lose like this again. I want the best value for losing and suffering. Again the only goal is playoffs. Once in the playoffs anything can happen, I want to win the whole dam show. If you happen to lose in the first round, that's perfectly fine and lets work hard this upcoming off-season to get another chance to make them. This is the ONLY way to play in the NFL. Anyone not understanding this method of strategy, please call your doctor for a visit...

Purdy saved the 49ers from that three 1st picks for Trey Lance. People forget that. People also forget he should have MVP votes for the 23 season. He's been any where from the 8th(his best/23) to 14th ranked QB, he's legit and guys around top 10 get paid as QBs.....guys in 28th get paid too, he's 4x the QB Trevor Lawrence is and better than BY by miles as well...even without CMC, Samuel(whos a RB playing WE), and half the OL. *BUT* You non-believers missed this ultra important mistake that honestly made me reconsider all the praise I gave him. https://www.si.com/nfl/49ers/news/49ers-qb-brock-purdy-throws-blind-40-percent That's is damming to my case and reset my thinking of his. That's nuclear scary now and I need some time. too honest for me to overlook. -

Anyone that believes getting a couple late season wins to end the season at 4-13 while picking 9th in each round, other than 2-15 with the 1st pick in each round is not being realistic. It happens nearly every other year, Jags gave the browns a insane package to move from 2nd to 5th. If not for late season pointless/everyone forgets late season wins the Panthers would have gotten that franchise changing package. Not to mention Panthers would have had Herbo and Sewell in other years, but nope. Do I need to bring up da bears??? The goal is long term winning in order to make the playoffs, one season to tank could spark it with a Burrow that's gets sacked 60 times on the way to a SB. I want to win as bad as anyone, but the second the Panthers are eliminated from playoff contention, the ONLY solution is to lose the remaining games to gain a better chance to never do that again. No other answer.

If Cam and Luke were truly these HOF game changer that we all believe, their influence should have lead to wins, including b2b. I feel us fans overrated their abilities. Watched some of the Luke coming call 70% of plays before they happened, most of his team mates didn't listen to answer. There was nearly no reaction to his call out, it was bizarre. That seemed to be the main problem. No clue why this never got addressed. Gross and Smitty were here in late stage, each were able to bring good positive play level in their 30s. Cam had the best IOL for around 2.5 years and 2 legit studs at RBs. Lafell was alright for a #2 as well. DL during this time was top tier- Star, KK, Hardy, Johnson.. The D finished in the top 5, I believe two different times and others it no lower than 8th. I just remembered Oher was here for good LT play for what 1.5 seasons, too. Luke and Cam should have better results.
