yes, steve smithy said this weeks ago as well. -
Frank leaves the door open to taking back playcalling duties
Basbear replied to Dorian Gray's topic in Carolina Panthers
Being honest and the bar is at the lowest, frank is sligthy better than thomas at calling plays. This is sorta like when Phil Snow got replaced by Al Holcomb, it proved phil was better. -
Just soooo much to do for the 2024 season, hate I had to start thinking of it mid-2023. Saddest part is panthers have to keep monitoring college QBs....

If young can not elevate the team like a franchise QB does, then there are no real solutions.

A thought I had about Scott while taking a sh*t

SCP, you dont need a alt here.... -
I honestly think thats in the plan. Only mingo and the guy whos agent could not find a 2028 7th- TMJ are on the 2024 roster. The current staff run like 80% 3 WR and even some 4 WR plays. WR is a huuuuuuge hole given they need 5 or 6.
-
This also happens too much for run plays as well. By far for me the biggest let down is I thought the OL could play in the 10-18 rankings. Only the injured filled giants OL is worse. Panthers are dogshit at OL. 2nd overall in false starts as well, just terrible.

Ive been thinking back to the nightmare of 2011 season. Thinking is this team worse?? Nah thus far even with the struggles. I still recall that 2011 unit just crossing the 50 was a miracle. The low fruit is in hell and all, but the 2023 team has 1-2 series were they move the ball well into the red zone per game. 2011 was a punt and pray season.

Sign Evans, Pittman, or Higgins to some 5 year 88 Million overpay and use the 2nd rounder on WR as well.
-
Big time wrong about him. * I did also say (few times) I was all for using the 5th rounder on him, even after the trade up for corral. You got to keep trying until you find the "guy". But the panthers traded up for cut LB Brandon Smith and lost that 5th that washington used the same panthers pick to draft howell......kill me. Washington uses their 1st on RGKnee and their 4th on cousins..... One was still playing at a high level this year and the other has been a taking espn head. The sad part is I dont think the panthers should stop looking....

I look at it at face value- kids run around kidnapping animals in order to make them fight each other. Beyond crazy it became the most popular cartoon, given thats the concept. Im still legit mind blown by it..
-
I thought it was a nothing to lose type of trade, 6th for 7th and a current WR/PK. Most teams have already thrown darts starting in the 5th. Plus the panthers needed a PK returner. Most chiefs fans were upset too, but claimed they didnt have room......in the past weeks thats been funny too....

Yea theres plenty to question with this staff. Sure theres not 5 TEs on current team, but they tried their hardest. Frank/Thomas nearly always run the same 3 WRs with ONE TE.......The same slot adam, "slot" mingo, and no longer burner/fast clark.......besides adam, this combo has never worked and its the base. Just awful and who can not do what clark has done?? Agree with smith-marette. All the reports about Jefferson being one of best WR coaches are false. Same for Mccrown being some HC leader in waiting. This staff has not made any improvement, its the same joke pre-season results.
-
Ive been meaning to make a thread about WR coach jefferson, campy, Mccown, and duce. They all done piss poor and were labeled as saviors etc. frank took most of the heat and they deserve most of it.
-
Former 3rd rounder in 2019 and just was starting the last games, guess new HC wanted what he was. try out for the future 2024 team, got time with a couple coaches new being he played on the rams for 4 years.
-
Do you know who got cut or was there a open spot?? For some odd reason they have kept 1-2 open roster spot for most of the year.....

So while the debate rages on, anyone/everyone please answer this. Luvu is at a similar pace as last year- Please list the players that had 111 tackles, 19 (TFL)tackle for loss and 7 sacks. He also had an INT return for a TD in 2022 as the cherry on top, but stick to the first three stats. Use the history of the NFL as well. But I will wait, btw he did those insane numbers as a 4-3 OLB another feat in itself.
-
It was no contest, much like this year. Your my guy and all carl so no disrespect, but did you watch all the games form last year? Plus have you watch this years too?
-
Yep Ive seen farrr too many unblocked or missed assignments defender get a free sack and act like they won the lotto. Luvu had a couple of them, but hes also destroyed some 340 LB OLman on the way to making a sack or TFL. Luvu is making, no hes willing/forcing the play to happen. Hes stepped up huge in the pass defense this year as well.
-
It doesnt, but it backed up him being the best defender last year. He constantly making plays, thats what the best ones do. Now he has for 1.5 seasons. This year aside, is this another debate for you about luvu not being the best defender in 2022? He clearly was for the fans that could watch.

Hes my favorite offense player and this season hes getting pushed around like hes cosplaying paradis. Just looks like a different player. He did look better on the double teams with colbert back. I now think Chirst was 10x more important to the OL, seems he was the glue for both icky and boz. Both of them mentally look broken most snaps. Maybe colbert being back and playing zone before will improve this 31st unit.
