You know what else Im worried about, most of these scouts have been around since fox and RR. Mainly 4-3 defense type/system.........now panthers are switching to 3-4, just a different set of skills are needed. Not to mention they struggled finding decent 4-3 DLmen too, so now they know what to look for in 3-4 DLmen and LBs??

Thanks for bringing in the honest fact and not continuing this ruse. I do believe their mind hasnt fully made, but they traded up to #1 and the only way that happened if they viewed one player *clearly above all right now*. My tea leaves are saying its Stroud. I get knowing the #1 waay before the draft does hurt the rating or whatever story lines and the tiny chance houston trades for the #1......No longer care, plenty of other drafts had a clear #1 non-drama pick, cry more NFL... Just cutting alllllll this silliness out- Its Coleridge Bernard "C. J." Stroud IV, sorry NFL for ruining the start of your draft...

Depth Chart as of 3/16/23 (The way I see it, for now)
Basbear replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
great work as always mhs, Id like to the following sleepers- Preston Williams- my guy and panther WR savior. Raequan Williams- PS bouncer and panthers need DL help can a 4-3 guy do it?? Arron Mosby- panthers best 22' UDFA and he got some game action, like needing DL depth&help...panthers also need LB help, that could be mosby Larnel Coleman- phins 7th round pick and panthers signed him to be active roster mid-season. campy is a pro at finding gold among the dirt. This guy could be the answer to the swing tackle issue, they kept him on the active roster for a reason. Herb miller- CB that played in 13 games and is new to the panthers, with the two starters injury-prone. He could give a couple starts -
Preston Williams is my pick, hes the super super super sleeper savior for WR. He looked like he was on the way to being a solid #2, injuries hit and now he may be fully healed. He had a good 8 game or so run where he made a difference. June cuts are still coming, same for right after the draft, member meshawn after jarrett got drafted.......that has happened since as well.

I dont like jeudy 39th good, i blame old smitty for not being impressed. didnt hear his sutton take, but......i mean being real, panthers need a world of WR help. I do think the 39th is a great edge/TE/WR spot.....ugh I hate to put this off too, Id be super open to trading up a few spots in order to get a JAN/hyatt/WR. Pantherj and me been hammering it out in the draft forum. All it would cost is the early 4th(114??) and 39th for 33rd and 7th. Pairing JAN with Stroud would make the draft special. Finnesserererer is still going to add some vet WR help.

I still want to go dumpster diving or listen to some low risk high reward type trading. Bonus- some current players may be traded for either picks or the rare other player. Staff should want "their" guys, same as rhule with the stoopid baylor/temple picks(did get some run with reddick, roy, franklin, even anderson played well one yr too).

Im too hyped and aware of the darkness that awaits. Not had much to cheer for around these parts, the new supreme staff and taken in the first three days to cure of the post-rhule depression... Like taking those first steps form the hospital......long road work is ahead, but thee sun and wind feels good..

Yea, hes perfectly fine and won plenty of games. Just feel the recent years hes dropped a couple levels......iants did choose him over winston, whom they signed for 8million 1yr......panthers got similar deal for dalton @ 2 if they choose to keep him, thats possible if him and the rookie QB click...
-
dalton is only "meh"(5 teams 5 years) and I dont know either on DLmen. But like you said, these are not derek carr 150 million while the team is 50 million in the red. These are the type of deals you see 3 weeks after the first day. Credit to other teams as well, seem like everyone learned to calm down......
