Honorable Mentions- Meet the Candidate- Bonus Round
Basbear replied to ProcessBlue2's topic in Carolina Panthers
Thank you for doing what 2023 reporters fail at!!! -
LOL at betting for the panthers to cover ANY bet. Did everyone forget that other 14 games??
-
I thought he was buns with herbo and LA??
-
Not a fan nor would hate if he became HC. All that could change if I knew who hed be hiring at OC, WR, TE, OL, etc. I mean thats my biggest issue for any HC, who are you hiring at those important spots. Cause given the poor talent level, you need coaches that can do more with less talent.
-
You see the carolina panthers even with the least talent are not in the worst team situation. Denver, cleveland, and maybe arizona are worse than the panthers. If not for herbo in LA Id say Spanos makes them worse than panthers&tepper.

Fittererers job was to follow what rhule wanted. I get what your saying and its true- no one on the outside knows truly what fittererererers role in all the draft picks, trades, and contracts. He cannot take only the bad when a trade is poo, same for the good. I was just pointing out how he was able to gain picks form 3 players that had negative values/ getting cut. The baker, cj henderson, and Shenault trades were my favorite low risk high pay off types too. Sure baker didnt work out, but only a 5th was used. Id say its a minor win for the other two, given each had super low salaries while playing snaps.
-
Yea that was a great deal that first year and then came that extension after robbie was crying. I agree the panthers should have held firm. Again rhule was the boss and that was one of his choosen ones...... One great year followed by a disaster year that somehow fitt got a 6th and 7th for a ultra toxic guy. He did nothing for zona and been off and on phins PS this year.
-
I swear anderson was signed for like 1yr 6 mill and then came the 2 yr 30 some million deal. It may have been a 2 year deal the first time and that was a bargain at the time. Robbie held out for a new deal and got it. Then rhule was fired and he became a cancer. I also think he got a 6th and 7th for him after the cancer deal. Still minor but everyone thought he was tooo toxic for any other team to touch.
-
I feel fittterererer just has done what rhule, tepper and other coaches wanted. Sometimes you need to be able to say "No". I dont think he was able or could. I wanted to give fitttererererrer some time after he gained some control after rhule. But the facts are the roster has the least talent out of the 32 teams. That is one rough deal to overlook. He did trade greg little, daley, and robbie anderson when no one on earth believed it was possible. Again just far too many negatives to positives. Those are tiny positives too...

My guess is there will be 10 or 9 HC open jobs. Some unknown or lesser known guys will be HCs and watch out for college ranks getting picked. Simply not enough HCs to fill given many of the fired ones will not get another shot(ei ron rivera, reich, etc...)

Should we seriously consider Evero for head coach?
Basbear replied to PleaseCutStewart's topic in Carolina Panthers
I agree, give him another 2 years to find the correct pieces and this would be one solid D. Its the best since mcderp leftd for buffalo. ALways could get more TOs and I think they are last in QB pressures as well. Still they are the only reason games have been somewhat close. Red zone needs improving as well. Overall Ive been impressed given all the injuries, last yr 4-3, and piss poor O. -
ST coaches always have a decent shot at being retained, especially ones as good as tabor. besides didnt one of the beat writers say hed side down at seasons end?
-
Bet its the same person..

Im not the biggest tomlin fan, but the guy has 14 winning seasons out of 15.....That 15th one ended 8-8. Thats the stuff panthers fans dream of. Plus LOLOLOLOLOL at the " hes just riding cowhers players", for 15 years?????? my god. In this mess of a season hes 7-7!!! Hes the only person on earth able to control Abrown. Plus hes always had to deal with ravens each year. Then the bungals got borrow and browns finally got all those #1s and early draft picks to pay off. Much stiffer comp than the NFC south was. Come on huddle, this is 2023 panthers embarrassing.

Hill basically benched chinn. Im a big chinn guy and all, but Hill is clearly the better NB no matter his age or history.

His 2013 tally was 123 tacks, 13 TFL, 4 sacks, 7 PDs 2 INTs DPOY Luke- -------156 tacks, 10 TFL, 2 sacks, 7 PDs 2 INTs TDs 2015----------105 tacks, 8 TFL, 5.5 sacks, 7 PDs 4 INTs I honestly remember feeling TD should have been the DPOY over luke. Ill drop this in this thread- Luvus 2022 is right there among the best season too. Luvu--------------111 tacks, 19 TFL, 7 sacks, 4 PDs, 1 INT Thats one rare combo of stats. Who else has 100+ tacks, 7 sacks, and 19...19 TFL. I can not name another player...

Holy fug, I forgot about Hardy!! He did have a impact before the bed of guns.... I was trying to rack my struggling 3 firing cells- " there has be others in the 25 years ". I only came up the average type years of mike minter and michael barrow....lamar lathon memory happened too. old salt n' pepper! I still think thomas davis is being heavily undervalued in this thread. TDs 2013 and 2015 should be revalued.

If he has a legit OC and QB coach ready, why not? Unlike last year, this new HC group is meh for me*. Plus do allll the "yea this defense isnt that good" people know that the panthers were 4-3 last year?? Most of the FA funds were used on offense. Ill repeat what others have said about injuries, no horn or shaq for most of the year. Bell, wooods, djack, chinn, burns, ygm, henderson, houston among others have alll missed a few games. In the short time, pitty offense, and not much talent. He couldnt do a much better job. If not for the defense I'd stop watching this year. -
I always thought thomas davis had the DPOY the year luke did. He should have a couple in the top ten, such a joy watching the pain he dealt out. Jenkins also blocked a couple FGs for his insane 2003 yr. Lots of comp for the top five, I dont think brown made it.

Ive tried to cope or excuse my way into favoring Bryce, but the real evidence is one-sided.

Rebuilding the Carolina Panthers - how long will it take?
Basbear replied to jayboogieman's topic in Carolina Panthers
Agreed. Plus for that three years, they must have loads of luck and hit on SOME draft picks..... Its a long road ahead even if they get super lucky...current least talented team and the key couple of pieces need 20+ million contracts. Planet size mess.... -
If thats his statement, then Ill for sure pass on his QB opinions. I have been missing @ladypanther among others. Bro everyone is miserable, i may need to take a break myself.

I have not watch as much as I use to. I did watch a couple UDFA QBs come in to similar OL&WR issues perform and win(bagnet, devito). Neither got the reps or prep that Bryce had form TC. One of selling points was that if Bryce was dat guy, you didnt need all-world WRs. Hes not playing well enough. Same form OL, TE, and WR. Hes part of problem, what size?? who knows given this is his rookie year. Totally agree he does need help and the OL has been about as poor as possible(sanders gets heat too). We got to hope the next HC&staff are miracle workers, plain and simple. Id say give him another year with the clean slate and go form there.

Cam is looking like the last person you quote for QB opinions- https://twitter.com/i/status/1734752490350895230 He said Dak, brock, goff, and tua were game mangers, not difference makers. Crack is wrack...
