REPORT: Panthers and Brian Burns not at all close to extension
jfra78 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
How? By not trading him? If Burns was waiting for Bosas deal then how could Fitterer have done any different when wanting to keep Burns -

Peppers as a first-year HOF entrant in 2024?
jfra78 replied to PanthersATL's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yes -
This is like in Pawn Stars. Guy goes in looking for 28m, they call their expert in and they say it's worth 35m. Now the guy wants 35m. We will be lucky to get him at 28 now
-
Now that Bosa has signed we will be lucky to get Burns at 28m, that would be considered a steal now.

The Athletic: Insight to Brian Burns Contract
jfra78 replied to Saca312's topic in Carolina Panthers
Burns is considered a top tier pass rusher in the league, he will be paid as such. He knows it, his agent knows it, and the Panthers know it. Whether we refused a trade or not, Burns has the same value because he one of a few top tier pass rushers in the league and that is a premium spot in the NFL. Once Bosa sets the market, Burns will sign -
Leave your emotions at the door about Burns... it's a BUSINESS

We have him for the next 3 seasons whether he wants to sign a deal or not. If he doesn't sign then we can find his replacement in that time. -

Toomers is a cap nut, if he had it his way a team would be 200m below cap and devoid of any talent. Sad thing is he isn't even a panthers fan. Don't know why a Steelers fan would visit this site as much as he does -
It's Saints, but they are on borrowed time.
-
Would be wild since so many mocks had him going to us
-
As much as I may not want him on the team, I'm not going to celebrate anyone losing their job
-
Far I as know veterans don't go through waivers, so we wouldn't lose our spot signing him
-
I'd take him over any of our backups in any system. If he is on waivers then no, but if we can just sign him then why not
-
Biggest problem I have with Hubbard is he can't block, I'd rather have Blackshear in there

Quite Possibly The Ugliest Piece of Merch Ever
jfra78 replied to Killah_Ray's topic in Carolina Panthers
What's the payoff on that? I woukd think he would be the favorite -
That's not how the NFL works. He is going to get more cause he signed last and that's why he is waiting

Take that $550 and bet it on the Panthers -
He is going to want more than Bosa and will get it. It doesn't matter if people think Bosa is better, the last one to sign will get a slightly better contract
-
I could see it if they pick up someone decent off waivers or cuts
-
He split a tackle on another run, but definitely wasn't a big hit
