  1. I thought for shits and giggles, why not compare the starters for this roster against arguably the best top to bottom roster the Panthers ever had. I will do this by position group and making a lot of assumptions about who is going to start this year. Delhomme vs Darnold 2003 wins- Although I think Darnold has the potential to be better, at this point theres no comparison. Davis vs CMC 2021 wins- I love Davis, but CMC is on another level Hoover vs Tremble 2003 wins- I placed Tremble in the FB spot because I think we roll without one this year and this will be his primary function in this offense. Hoover wins because he is a known commodity who did his job very well. Tremble could be better, but its yet TBD. Smith/Mohammad/Proehl vs Moore/Anderson/Marshall 2003 wins- Although I do like this group and think they are one of the best trios in the league, it just doesn't compare to 2003. Smith and Moose are top 10 Panthers of all time and Proehl is probably one of the best slot guys we've ever had. 03 OL vs 21 OL 2003 wins- Gross puts this position group over the top. I do believe we have a lot of talent with the rookies coming in, but there is still work to be done. Wiggins/Mangum vs Arnold/Tremble 2021 wins- I Have a lot of faith in Arnold and that Tremble can provide that extra blocking needed. 03 DL vs 21 DL 2003 wins- I think we have a great DL this year with Burns/Matos/Brown/Jones, but it just can't compare to the 2003 squad which included Pep/Jenkins/Buckner/Rucker. 03 LB vs 21 LB 2003 wins- Not even close, Morgan and Witherspoon are enough to blow this current crop out of the water. I would place Chinn at FS, but even if he was a LB 2003 would win IMO. Cousin/Howard/Manning vs Horn/Bouye/Jackson 2021 wins- Love our current CBs and excited to see them play. Minter/Grant vs Burris/Chinn 2003 wins- Minter is a top 15 Panther and Grant was really good too. I like the future with Chinn, but he is not at the same level as Minter at this point. Kasay/Sauerbrun vs Slye/Charlton 2003 wins- not close Kasay is a legend and Sauerbrun was a pro bowler. Of course 2003 wins the most categories(8-3), and it shows just how far we are from competing for a Superbowl. But, I do think we are heading in the right direction and could make a run in the next couple years.
  2. DaQuan or The Golden Calf of Bristol? DaQuan is making the team
  3. Baseball makes more sense in a larger metro area. Games are daily and usually in the afternoon after work, so if in a large metro area people can just go after or during work. Football can be more regional because its once a week on a day most don't work so people can come from all over
  4. I think people are just not used to being outside for long periods anymore. The temp and humidity aren't much different in the upstate as it is in Charlotte. I lived in Charlotte for over 30 years and now been in Greenville for 4.
  5. Schedule release day isnt a big deal to most fans. The NFL is trying to hype it up to make it seem like a big deal for more money.
  6. CAR 17-0 ATL 0-13-4 NO 0-13-4 TB 0-13-4
  7. I really dont see how he fits. Last year we had 4 DTs on the roster during the season, you would have to think it will be the same this year. Right now we have Myles Adams, Derick Brown, Woodrow Hamilton, Bruce Hector, Phil Hoskins, PJ Johnson, DaQuan Jones, Daviyon Nixon, Mike Panisiuk, Bravion Roy. That's 10 guys going for 4 spots. Is he better than 6 of them at this point? Derick Brown, Bravion Roy, and Daviyon Nixon are probably shoe ins, that leaves 1 spot. Not to mention we trying to get younger.
  8. Moore has to be the most used last name in Panthers history. I know of a couple Davis' and some Smith's too.
  9. That was 1 throw. Media loved him, scouts not so much obviously. I said the same thing the day after the pro day and you made excuses for it. I think you just blocked out all the bad throws
  10. My employer does, but it's a 2 way street. People have to want to be helped in order for it to work
  11. Kinda surprising, hope he can be a week one starter as the article suggests.
  12. Every single long pass attempt the reciever had to change his course, turn around, slow down, and/or catch at the hip. It was a horrible pro day and probably why he dropped like he did.
  13. Looked better than any pass on Fields pro day
  14. Sad, gotta love a name like Beathard
  15. I wouldn't call Norman and Bradberry great. They are maybe the 3rd or 4th best panther DBs. And we never had a truly great CB.
  16. Panthers win division rest of teams 3 way tie for worst
  17. Welcome back, stay longer this time. And yeah, this draft was masterfully executed and it shows us just how bad things had been with Marty.
  18. I hate giving you pie but damn. That's my EmNEffin CEO *cries*
  19. I gotta watch more "You Tube Film" in order to grade this draft since none of these guys were on my radar
  20. I dont remember anyone being excited about Ian Thomas's blocking
