I know it’s hindsight, but after Stafford and Watson fell through, we probably should’ve just stood pat and either drafted a QB or O lineman. Probably would’ve helped if we didn’t run Teddy out of town, either. Teddy is better than Darnold, and that’s clear to everyone, atleast it should be now. Teddy isn’t a franchise guy, but he would’ve been perfect to teach a drafted QB like Fields or Jones.

No arguments from me. Looks like the staff completely got it wrong on Darnold. It sucks, because the tape was out there.

Trading for Deshaun Watson could set the Panthers back many years
AggieLean replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
It’s sad too. We had a franchise QB, and it was taken from us at the blink of an eye or a tackle attempt. Screw Kelvin Benjamin. Having a player like Darnold makes you appreciate Cam even more. I remember you had posters who were tough on Cam from the start, critiquing accuracy and other things. Darnold is everything they bashed Cam for -
If he looks like this after getting traded to another squad, and being in year 4, then I’m all for everyone on here proclaiming him a bust. Really hard for me to critique rookies, as I’m a bit biased. We had a rookie QB come in and light up the league day one.

Fields is a rookie. He has time. Darnolds time is about up, as it should be. This is year 4

I don’t think so. I was moreso playing along to @Catsfan69post to be honest. I don’t think we’re in anyway close to figuring out how Fields story will go. We pretty much know Sam’s, as he’s been in this league 4 years now, and he hasn’t looked any better.

You’re one of those that can’t be wrong, I see. Fields could turn it around too, as he’s a rookie. Something Darnold is not

That ship has sailed. We’ve already been set back putting our eggs in the basket of Darnold, and it’s looking like this coaching staff is a dud- 94 replies

Lol ok. People so far were wrong about Fields, and you were wrong about Darnold

I don’t think anyone wanting PJ to play expects him to be a savior or the starting QB of the future. It’s moreso about moving on from Darnold, because he has shown he is not it. Dude doesn’t seem to have it between the ears out there on the field. PJ is trash too, but we really have no other options.

All of those “respected” posters have suddenly disappeared. You still have a few that won’t let you talk about Darnold, but they have switched to fully blaming the coaching staff. Don’t get me wrong, the coaching staff is trash, but Darnold isn’t a starting QB.

Matt Rhule out coached by one of the worst coaches in the league
AggieLean replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Good thing we have the hornets, and some of us have the Braves in the World Series. This is such a trash organization, and has been for quite some time -
Just like folks need to let go of Fields, there’s some of you who needs to let go of Darnold. A good few of you were wrong about Darnold, and need to come to grips with that. The coaching staff is terrible, but Darnold is bad. He’s really bad, and after this stop, he will be lucky to remain in the league. He’s definitely not a starting QB

Also, there’s no need to resign Gilmore. We need that potential 3rd he can bring us. We also need to try and get back in the 2nd. CMC should be on the block.

We don’t have a competent QB on the roster. We need to either trade for one in the offseason, or draft one with our 1st. This is a terrible draft for QBs, so I’m fine with trading for one. Whoever we trade for needs to be a sure fire thing, though, and has proven himself. No more of these reclamation projects.

This team is done. We don’t have a competent QB on the roster, and the o line is trash. We might as well start looking up draft prospects

Official Panthers at Giants please God let us win GameDay thread

I don’t really care what Darnold does from here on out in this game. He’s shown he’s just not it. -

This is a horrible team. Almost a Clausen like/2010 team. We were better off with Teddy, and he’s not a franchise guy. -

Sam Darnold : Will he make it to a 2nd season here?
AggieLean replied to glenwo2's topic in Carolina Panthers
Man, I don’t think you’re fixing Darnold. He’s an inaccurate passer, who isn’t able to process what’s going on on the field quick enough. It was that in NY, and it’s that here. Rhule might have to either sink or swim with Darnold. Unfortunately, I believe he is going to sink. -
PFF: Panthers go from easiest schedule to date to now hardest
AggieLean replied to Saca312's topic in Carolina Panthers
I’m just mad at myself for betting on the panthers to win over 7 games. With the easy part of our schedule winding down, I’m not confident about that. In fact, it would not shock me if we only won one more or lost out. -
No he’s not. Come on, now. Anyways, it’s looking like we’ll be looking for a QB again this upcoming offseason. Sam has processing issues, and he’s not as accurate as some would like you to believe. The same folks who would complain of holding onto the ball, accuracy/timing issues of our past QBs, are really seeing that now. Sam isn’t the only problem facing this team, but he’s one of the bigger issues. We absolutely would be foolish to give him 3 years. This is his 4th year in the league, and it’s clear he’s not getting it. It’s not clicking. Best to move on.
