  1. Agreed, but the only guy (from the above list) who wouldnt be one of those is probably Danna. The rest i doubt they can convince anyone for multiple years. certainly not the older guys. Maybe Clowney can.
  2. i searched for all of them, didnt see that on Barnett. thx for sharing. lol. I'd sign billy boucher if i thought he could add 5-6 sacks.
  3. yeah, i'm honestly surprised he hasnt been mentioned more. He's not a world beater but he's competent and even though the rub is he's not a run stopper, i thought he looked decent in that category from what little game film i watched (not highlights).
  4. Looks like here is who is still available, there are some others but not worth mentioning. Clowney-- would be solid, may be too expensive. i'm suspicious of his most recent year. like Kyle Van Noy and others (that are not free agents), that Ravens DL all had really good years, so hard to disentangle where the group gets the kudos or the individual player. Calais Campbell-- not really what were looking for, older than Methuselah Carl Lawson--Oft injured, absolute model citizen, if he can recreate 2022 season could be a huge steal. Mike Danna-- 50 tackles and 6.5 sacks last year. Could do worse. Derek Barnett-- Nah, very little production in several years. Kyle Van Noy-- Older dude, but still produces. a 5-6 sack type of guy, but may be about to drop off. did well last year, but was an outlier on a great deep defense. Anfernee Jennings--more of a run stopper, but a very good one. Bud Dupree--Trending down badly, quickly. former hoss. Yannick Ngakoue- Boom or bust guy, seems to be a sack only guy, not responsible for many tackles. Seems to hold up well. missed very few games. last year was pretty weak. verdict: If we cant get Clowney, Mike Danna looks solid. Adding Danna gives you two competent (and young) guys and three guys with upside (barro, chaisson, johnson).
  5. doesnt have to be clowney, but i'd love another DE or two and a solid number two corner. Dane seems like a very good backup, guy that can spell for a game or two.
  6. somewhere theres a man glad to be rid of the woman you love (not you specifically), let that crop dust your thoughts. Muhahahahahahahahhahahaha
  7. my only disagreement is we need all of our picks to hit. one of these drafts we need to pull a saints and get 5-6 starters from one draft.
  8. exactly. Brown may be 5, he may be 10. either way, hes a badass and i'm glad to have him. still no reason to give out wild overpays. 25 like mentioned above is about it to me. not sure i can make a case why he deserves more than number 6 and 7 on this list. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/rankings/average/defensive-tackle/
  9. Nah. I'm an Auburn fan, but if we give him thirty it's an overpay. He's a top ten DT, but he's not top 5.
  10. He'll just watch some shiz on youtube....the freebies, not youtube tv. The future is decentralized (hell the present) content. No more news or sports insight from pretty talking heads. That model is gladly dying.
  11. My aunt is sixty. She keeps bitching about how the cable company keeps creeping the price up. I cut her costs by 2/3s in 10 minutes. Cable is doomed. Now what we will have are services you can start stop at will. That will enforce a price point that is reasonable. People have learned that we live in a scam nation. The younger people are quick to drop services they think are overpriced.
  12. And prepare for me to ride the high seas to watch, and live, as a man free of these skallywags.
  13. I hope they double dip at wr, de, cb, lb, and te.
  14. He's got the bloodlines and was coached at Utah, so you have to think he's got a high floor if nothing else.
  15. In that case, mistake rescinded! I'd have thought 10 minimum.
  16. Agree completely. I think Clowny would be a mistake. Jewell and Wonnum are around 6 mil per. I was thinking that range would be fine. I prefer cheaper but I don't think that's too steep. I'd come off 10 for the right guy (under 28, willing to be here 3 years, etc.)
  17. While I want a vet starter, don't want to overpay for a guy. Just need a bridge for the young guys, imo.
  18. I hadn't considered the waiver wire option--that could certainly work, but depending on the draft for a starter will be a disaster. I'm not asking for a 15 mil a year contract, just a guy to allow DJ and whoever we draft time to come along. If we'll pay for Jewell, why not a DE? I don't understand that logic.
  19. Plug and Play from a playbook perspective, yes. Not from a physicality standpoint, otherwise I'd say fug it, just draft some guys.
  20. Can you clarify what this means? Does the worst team the previous year get some advantage here? Forgive my ignorance.
  21. No sweat its on topic and reinforces why i asked my question to begin with. I've got no issue with any of those guys in the draft. My point is that they are backups at best as first year players. As of now if Wonnum starts, who's his backup? Dj? OK. Roll the dice. The other side? Chaisson, even in college, was a third down specialist. Who is starting? Him? Laughable. A second rookie? Also laughable. In order to have even competent play we need a mid level player opposite of Wonnum. That allows you to bring these other guys along. Otherwise, why do anything in free agency if you are going to leave such an obvious weakness? We will get smoked on passing downs.
