i think that is dubious to prove, seattle for instance could have used a qb. same thing for raiders (jimmy g isnt a world beater). how about atlanta? also, cant say others wouldnt have traded up if the guy fell. but that fact can and should be disputed as its too absolute given what the hype around Bryce was at the time.

I wasn't watching super closely but only Levi's was making it to pick 9 from what I could tell. Still think we gave up way too much but I see why they did it. Also reading nfl.com scouting report, the comp for Bryce is Drew Brees. Think a lot of people got faked out. Certainly I did. Watched the guy carve up the SEC, thought he was sure fire. Still not too late, I guess.

I'm not attacking either of you, but besides trading up for a QB there what can you do? Based on the qb's and the draft order the last several years unless we went up we still wouldn't have a qb to build around. Could have taken jordan love but would the team let him sit for years? Justin fields doesn't look like a franchise guy to me either. His stats are very pedestrian. If we don't trade up we likely are in great shape this year, but we've needed a qb since 2020. I think we gave up too much, but I don't see an alternative move.

I like the picks besides the first one. Love WR, but would prefer someone that's an outside threat. Beyond that, if Corley and Jackson are available at those picks I'd run to the podium. Bortolini is good sneaky pick, paired with Beebe, I like the shoring up of depth at OL.

Agreed. The issue is the team needs a good legit rebuild. No more F-ing hotshotting! Should have done it 3-4 years ago. Hopefully ownership accepts the 2-3 year build and we can enjoy the ride. I'm sus, but the coaching hire appears to be a good move. We'll see.

That's true for corner as well.

I've done OL only mock drafts......they made me happy.

Yeah, but does anyone do post June cuts? There are hardly any free agents left by then, right?
-
Oh snap. How have I not noticed that? Yikes.

Thanks. The number I saw was around 28, I misspoke in my initial post. I don't know enough about cap stuff to do what you did, but that's promising. Looks like some moves can be made.

We'll have to extend and/or restructure some of the bigger names. I was checking out overthecap and spotrac. Cutting guys doesn't seem to gain us much. Not sure if this always the case. Anyone on here track that stuff closely? Any thoughts on who should be extended or restructured and who shouldn't? We have 26 mil but Burns will eat up a ton of that if we have to tag him. 21 mil is the number I heard.

Nothing would please me more, but that's not the kind of offense this coach runs. So I suspect they'll pivot on the OL and focus on WR that get open quickly and we'll be more dink and dunk. My preference is to get a Derrick Henry type and mash people because it's a different offense, many modern defenses can't handle it. The problem is when you get to the playoffs. Does the downhill smash offense work against the top teams? Can you score with them when you need to? That's a harder sell otherwise more would run it.

No, the risk of the guy coming here and just mailing it in is too high. The only guys you pay that money are ones you've had 3-4 years to determinenif they are just money bums or actually try to win when the chips are down.

Love big runningbacks. Bully ball, seems to fit our existing talent as well.
-
Id take an OG and a C, I don't watch the games much. If you guys think he can cover LT, then good with me. Otherwise take a OT as well.

Think imma head out.

Which franchises are known as the most well run?
Panthero replied to Panthero's topic in Carolina Panthers
Those make sense, not sure I agree on Dallas. They certainly are popular but Jones seems to hold them back. Steelers and Packers were who came to my mind. Ravens and Niners were good calls. KC seems to be more got the right coach and qb, won't really know until one or both leave (maybe thats unfair). Steelers seem the most consistent across time. Interesting link I just found. https://www.statmuse.com/nfl/ask/every-nfl-teams-record-for-the-last-10-years -
Not just have some rockstar qb carrying them. Just curious as to which teams just consistently bop along no matter what. Also, do you think it's because the owners stay the hell out of the way or that some actually get it and there just aren't many that do?

Damn as a guy who was 15 during the attitude era, yall are taking me down memory lane.

I bought in on Bryce. All the whispers of his ability to read defenses and having this super natural calm demeanor seemed like the traits you hear about the greats having. I'm still not ready to write him off. I want to see an actual mid level OL block for him. Guy was harassed all year. Stroud does appear to be the better qb though, no way to spin that.

Breaking, Ian Rapoport: Fitterer Fired

It's funny cause he's got more chins than a Chinese phone book. -
What's your first move to improve the team for next year? I think a legit OT that moves Icky inside and a serious threat at TE would be two major improvements that maximize the qb you spent so much getting here.
