I read a report this morning that at 4pm, any remaining free agents that are signed, won’t count against the compensatory picks. Still some big names out there. Anybody else find it weird with his answer to committing to keeping the panthers in Charlotte? He said multiple times that Charlotte makes the most sense for the CAROLINA Panthers. He said this a couple times and emphasized “Carolina” every time. I took that as “so long as the team remains in the Carolinas, then yea”. Didn’t answer the question. A simple “yes” was all we needed. Not some round about politician answer.

I think the Jets would easily taken Hutchinson at 4. They struck out on DE in free agency. I can’t imagine them passing up on that. Then again, your guess is as good as mine.

I can’t really argue with that. There’s just something about lining up Sauce and Horn on the outside with DJax in the middle that makes salivate.

Honestly, I don’t think most teams would be willing to offer what’s needed to trade up to 6 with those guys off the board

Not that this tweet made me come to this realization, but for the first time I’m allowing the possibility of a Qb at 6 run wild in my mind. I’ve been pounding the table for a LT this whole time and thought surely we wouldn’t draft one of these QBs. But now I can’t get that nauseating thought out of my mind.

Cuz they essentially picked up an additional 2nd and 3rd for just delaying their 1st one year…and still have 2 1sts this year

I think plenty of teams r willing to call the Browns bluff and wait until he’s cut. I wouldn’t offer more than a 6th. Then would let him play out his final year. If he balls out, then absolute worse case, we tag him and make him prove it wasn’t a one yr fluke.

Any GM offering that with this draft class should be fired on the spot lol

@GrowlDo u really believe in Willis or Pickett? Or do u just know we need a Qb? Not saying you are one of these people but I’ve noticed some people think drafting a Qb in this draft is the correct thing to do simply cuz we have that need vs. wanting to draft a QB bc they truly are an elite prospect.

What would be ironic as hell is if we did this and then Watson is suspended all next year and Texans own the #1 overall pick cuz of us. Good Lord, I will be physically sick if we make this move.

Just combed thru 12 pages and I’m blown away that not one person has suggested we’d be looking for a 2023 1st. His dead money hit is $18.5 mill if traded pre June 1st and only $5.7mill if trade post June 1st. I’d be shocked if we got a 1st in the upcoming draft but I can definitely see us getting a desperate GM willing to part with next year’s 1st…which happens to be in a draft loaded with QB talent. I dunno bout you but I’d prefer a 1st that draft. Before you say Rhule and Fitty are too desperate to make a move like that for the future, maybe Tepper has an ounce of intelligence and makes it clear that we need ammo for next year.

I’m with you 100% on CMC’s contract. I love him but I wouldn’t have given him that contract either. To answer your question though, I’d invest more in the trenches on both sides of the ball first and foremost.

U can question all u want haha…and if u disagree, I definitely understand where you’re coming from. Paying big time money to a WR in general isnt how I’d want to build a team in the first place. When you then consider DJ being the WR that’s up for a big contract, I easily would pass. If we were a contender right now coming off a great season, I’d be more inclined to mayyyyybe bite the bullet just for continuity purposes. But absolutely not with those current group of guys.
