I care about the long-term, yes. But anything in the short-term is whatever.

Tally of Everyone Who Believed in Rhule
Jay Roosevelt replied to PantherNation123's topic in Carolina Panthers
I thought it was worth a shot to make an outside the box hire for once. But I did begin to worry once Rhule started putting his staff together and I had no idea Tepper would be so stubborn and stick with him despite all the evidence of him being in over his head. -
I believed in Baker. But I was wrong. Also, the OL sucks ass.

Ickey will be fine. He just needs time and experience. Just look at Andrew Thomas for the Giants. Took him 2-3 years to develop into a top-tier LT. The worst decision we can make would be to bench or move him and short-circuit that process. -

I can't fathom why we're not throwing to CMC more than we are. -
Will Levis. That is all.

Few NFL owners are anything but generic businessmen with huge egos. Only a handful actually contribute to their team's success on the field.
-
This all falls on Tepper, ultimately.
-
Worst case scenario is an 7-8 win season where we miss the playoffs but where Tepper can point to "progress" and keep Rhule for another year. Meanwhile we're not picking high enough to draft a franchise QB.

Pat Elfein must have walked into the room.

Your top two HC hires after they flip Rhule..

Joe Lombardi. -
If we're in a position to draft a top QB prospect next year we can't pass that up because of Matt Corral.
-
Probably more a question of what McAdoo changed.

CP R SCRWD WTH MR AS HC.

I think we should be prepared to let burns walk
Jay Roosevelt replied to electro's horse's topic in Carolina Panthers
We should be prepared to hire a defensive coordinator who can use him in a way that maximizes his pass rush ability while minimizing his deficiencies as a run defender. -
Our QB actually showed some gritt and determination when we were trailing. Haven't seen that since Cam was our starter.
-
Our run defense has been horrible going back some time now even as other areas of our defense have improved. This despite spending a top-10 pick on a DT, a 2nd rounder on a DE, and signing a pretty well regarded veteran in Matt Ioannidis. The question is: is this because we just don't have the players capable of stopping the run or is there a larger schematic issue to blame here? Or could it be both? What say the Huddle?

Official Matt Rhule has been fired watch...
Jay Roosevelt replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Nobody WANTS us to lose. Most of us just realize that we're never going to win consistently (if at all) with Matt Rhule as our head coach. -
We need to go out and get the biggest run-stuffing DT we can find that's still available. Wonder what Kelvin Benjamin is up to these days?

Our last two first round picks, Icky and Horn.....BUSTS
Jay Roosevelt replied to GOAT's topic in Carolina Panthers
Lord. Ickey was literally playing in his FIRST fuging GAME against the best pass rusher in the league. Give the guy more than one game before you label him a bust. Jaycee Horn was playing in his FOURTH game EVER. And honestly wasn't God awful anyway. This is the stupidest post I've seen in a while. -
Wait... I thought Rhule was "decock?"

Jay Roosevelt replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Why they didn't put Bozeman in after the first botched snap - let alone the second - is beyond me. -
I've been saying for 2 years now that Rhule isn't a bad coach. His issue has primarily been his terrible personnel decisions. This offseason was much better; hopefully a sign that Fitterer/Morgan have more direct control. Or at least that Rhule listens to them more than he did his first couple years.

Tepper reevaluating team partnerships?
Jay Roosevelt replied to PhillyB's topic in Carolina Panthers
Sam Mills Stadium or I don't care. -
Who gives a fug?
