  1. You can be assured that Sean Payton won't take ANY job without having a plan in mind for QB.
  2. It's important to note that Payton is very close with the Saints GM. It's entirely possible that they have an understanding between them that if Payton decides he wants to coach somewhere that Loomis won't hold it up - or hamstring Payton - by demanding huge compensation. Honestly, this strikes me as the only explanation as to why they're letting a division rival interview him to begin with. At least with as much interest as there is outside the division.
  3. I think Brady ends up in Vegas for his final year or two. I don't think we're quite at the point that adding Brady would make us true SB contenders and that's the only real reason you make that move.
  4. Seems like there's a good chance, especially with Ben Johnson pulling out.
  5. I've heard this year's 4th + next year's 1st. I'd be content with that, but that's about the max I'd be comfortable with.
  6. I'm not crazy about that either, but if we can come out of this offseason with a quality HC and a franchise QB then I can live with not having a 1st rounder next year.
  7. Better get on board the Payton train, folks.
  8. I think there's a better chance than some may realize that Levis rises and Young falls due to his size. Stroud could be viewed by some teams as the "happy medium" between the two.
  9. I'd hate to give up a high pick just to acquire a head coach. But I wouldn't be against Payton coming here.
  10. I prefer Shane Steichen to Ben Johnson simply for the fact that Steichen's resume is better in terms of QB development. Certainly coaching Jared Goff to the numbers he put up this year is impressive, but in my view helping to develop both Justin Herbert and Jalen Hurts is more impressive.
  11. We needed depth anyway; I don't see how this effects us too much.
  12. It's the right approach. Now we just have to pick the right coach.
  13. I'm skeptical he can replicate his performance with the 49ers. But I'd prefer him to some of the other candidates being discussed.
  14. No point in letting Wilks go just to hire a younger, less experienced version of him. We need an OFFENSIVE-MINDED coach, period.
  15. The way I see it there are two paths: PATH #1: Hire Steve Wilks full time and bring in Derek Carr - and a competent O.C. - to give us an at least average passing game and use the draft to (hopefully) upgrade the pass rush and offensive weapons, particularly WR depth and TE. PATH #2: Hit reboot and replace Wilks with a young offensive mind who can develop a QB we draft in the 1st round, by trading up if necessary.
