Week 4 [Panthers vs Vikings] All-22 : Any Requests?
Jay Roosevelt replied to TheCasillas's topic in Carolina Panthers
Oh, and D.J. Johnson too. His PFF grade has me curious. -
Week 4 [Panthers vs Vikings] All-22 : Any Requests?
Jay Roosevelt replied to TheCasillas's topic in Carolina Panthers
Anything on YGM and the interior OL you can do would be great. Thanks. I'm sure you're already going to be taking a look at the playcalling on offense. -
Why the hell haven't we signed a veteran guard by now?
-
D.J. Johnson making the list (the good one) is a nice surprise.

Cam Defenders vs Bryce Defenders, maybe a pattern?
Jay Roosevelt replied to RumHam's topic in Carolina Panthers
I was one of the earliest Cam supporters on this board (different screen name) and was on the Bryce train from early on. I still remember all the people here who thought we had screwed up big time by drafting Cam #1 overall. I also remember many of those same people turning on him in 2012 when he struggled to start the year. I see a lot of similarities between those people then and the anti-Bryce crowd now. People remember how good Cam's rookie year was, but tend to forget the struggles in year 2 and how many people were ready to jump ship them. -
Easily, and it's having a ripple effect across the entire offense. There's no good reason for them not to have brought in a veteran at this point. Even Throckmorton is playing better than Zavala.

God, you guys are dense. There's nothing wrong with his arm.

Panthers Playbook intelligent discussion

I feel like we're watching a Dan Henning offense without Steve Smith. -
Panthers Playbook intelligent discussion
Jay Roosevelt replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
Confirms my thoughts while watching the game. Those that are saying the offense needs to be streamlined for Bryce are missing the forest for the trees. The exact opposite is true; Reich needs to open the playbook up for Bryce and stop handling him with kid gloves. -
The offense with Bryce is getting worse every week
Jay Roosevelt replied to electro's horse's topic in Carolina Panthers
There's not a QB in the league who interior pressure doesn't effect that way. Does it affect shorter QBs more? Probably, but no QB is going to be able to overcome consistent pressure from the interior DL. As Wonnum said, that kind of interior pressure makes the edge that much harder to defend. Look at Drew Brees; during his best years he had arguably the best pair of guards in the game during. Jhari Evans and Carl Nicks, then Ben Grubbs replaced Nicks. They knew how important it was to keep that interior pressure to a minimum. We've got waiver wire scraps and a 4th round rookie (who may be playing as poorly as any rookie in the league right now) at both our guard spots. That's been a far bigger problem for us than I think most people realize. -

The offense is not getting worse each week. If anything, it has been remarkable how consistently vanilla, boring and conservative it's been. Take Bryce out of the equation; Andy Dalton had to throw the ball damn near 60 times to get to 360 yards in Seattle. And the run game has been nonexistent regardless of who has been at QB. -
How can any play "only" go to one receiver?
-
He's been disappointing for sure. If we have a chance to upgrade at LT we need to move him inside because Zavala ain't it.

On 80 attempts.

Oh good lord. This is the dumbest poo I've ever heard. Now the NFL owners conspired to have David Tepper buy the Panthers so they wouldn't have to worry about us beating them? An NFL owner doesn't need an excuse to be bad; most of them are clueless on actual football matters. Tepper is no different. He just likes to talk a big game that he can't back up.

Has Young shown flashes of being a #1 pick?
Jay Roosevelt replied to TN05's topic in Carolina Panthers
Bryce has shown flashes, yes. People here just refuse to see it. The Huddle loves to be miserable. -
They'll always hate him because he's not Cam Newton.

Is Frank Reich telling Bryce who to throw to on each play?
Jay Roosevelt replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
Regardless, the fact that Reich would burn a timeout because he didn't know Adam Thielen wasn't on the field is a sign right there of how clueless he is as a playcaller. -
Looks about right. No downfield game whatsoever.

Bryce is fine. The Panthers are fine.
Jay Roosevelt replied to AceBoogie's topic in Carolina Panthers
He threw two passes into the endzone early in the game that should have been caught. -
Bryce is fine. The Panthers are fine.
Jay Roosevelt replied to AceBoogie's topic in Carolina Panthers
You're right, it IS a problem that the coaching staff doesn't trust him to throw the ball down the field. Because he CAN throw it downfield. The coaching staff is handling him with kid gloves and there's no reason for it. THAT'S the biggest difference between him and Stroud/Richardson. All we heard about all offseason was how Bryce wasn't limited in running the offense. We saw him in camp routinely make throws downfield (remember all the D.J. Chark hype?) and then as soon as the games start everything is dink and dunk and they don't trust him to throw downfield? I call bullshit on that. -
I'm asking again what exactly Derrick Brown does
Jay Roosevelt replied to FuFuLamePoo's topic in Carolina Panthers
What the hell are you talking about? Nobody on this board can agree on anything EXCEPT that Derrick Brown is playing out of his mind. -
Bryce is fine. The Panthers are fine.
Jay Roosevelt replied to AceBoogie's topic in Carolina Panthers
That Bryce doesn't have the arm to throw into the endzone from the 18-yard line. That's pure ignorance. BTW, can y'all please do something about these damn ads that cover the entire page?
