I really could care less about the Falcons. I hate this idea that teams should draft to counter their division rivals. You build the best team possible; that's how you compete - with anyone. I'm not 100% sold on T-Mac, but I wasn't any more sold on Jalon Walker or James Pearce or any of the defensive players either. The only player I thought we had a realistic shot at that I was 100% sold on was Mason Graham, but the board didn't fall that way. That's just the draft for you.

I feel like we really need to come away with at least one of these players tonight: Donovan Ezeiruaku Mike Green Carson Schwesinger Nick Emmanwori Shavon Revel Xavier Watts Azareye'h Thomas Andrew Mukuba Kyle Kennard

I wouldn't hesitate to give up our 3rd - or even a future pick - to move up for Donovan Ezeiruaku. I can't imagine we don't have a 1st round grade on him, but it'll have to be done early because he won't last long if we don't make a move with the Browns, Texans, Titans or Raiders at the top of the 2nd.

Smitty was a lot of things - good and bad - but low energy was never something I associated with him. That's an interesting comment from him about himself.

I hadn't seriously considered him as an option since I figured we'd go defense, but I'm not mad. I'm just happy we didn't go with Mykey 4 Sacks.

I'd rather us draft Mykel Williams. And I'd rather have gonorrhea than us draft Mykel Williams. That should tell you how much I want us to draft Shemar Stewart.

I have a bad feeling we're going to end up with a class that looks something like this...

Jalon Walker. I'd go Mike Green if not for the off-field issues.

Can you imagine if he had signed off on that deal? As bad a shape as we've been in the last few years imagine having no 1st round picks the last 3 years AND having no cap space to sign any free agents because of that contract. Somehow the Browns have managed to be better than us over that span (I don't think Kevin Stefanski gets the credit he deserves for that); the difference is I think we're about ready to come out of our mess and they're just starting to fully fall into theirs.

But not the dumbest, somehow. The Browns actually gave Deshaun Watson a fully guaranteed contract; something even Tepper's desperate-for-a-QB ass wouldn't do.

We probably stay put. I just don't see many teams itching to trade up in this draft. Maybe if Will Campbell or Armand Membou fall to #8 a team like the Bears, 49ers or Dolphins could look to move up, but even that seems doubtful, IMO.

Eagles trade #32 and a 2027 conditional 6th rounder to Panthers for #8. I have a bad feeling about this draft.

I actually think last year's class has more potential than our last several. Granted, that factors in Jalen Coker who was a UDFA, but still. If XL can stop trying to catch rodents long enough to learn how to catch footballs there is potential in last year's class. I think Sanders will be a solid TE and Wallace has flashed at ILB. Smith-Wade has potential as well. I just don't like what I'm hearing about the players we seem to be enamored with relative to where we would be picking them. Donovan Ezeiruaku is a player I like, but not in the top-10 or even top half of the 1st round. That's the kind of player you take after trading down into the 20s. Water Nolen is a great player, but has significant character red flags. Mykel Williams is the definition of traits over performance. I fear we're about to make a big mistake in the 1st round tomorrow night.

I feel like this front office has lost it's fuging mind.
