List of Top NFL Head Coaching Candidates in 2023
Jay Roosevelt replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
Shane Steichen or bust for me. Pair him with an experienced DC like Vic Fangio and use our (probably really high) 1st rounder on a QB like Will Levis and we'll be in business. -
Ellis Williams Report Card from Sunday
Jay Roosevelt replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Just imagine if we had a couple players we could dump the ball off to who are capable of making plays in space... -
What age is right to take your kid to BOA?

If they can coach and/or play QB bring them NOW. -
Derrick Brown.

The Hottest Seat in the NFL - Canfora on Rhule
Jay Roosevelt replied to Paa Langfart's topic in Carolina Panthers
Contracts are restructured all the time. -
For me it's: 1. Will Levis 2. Bryce Young 3. C.J. Stroud I don't trust Ohio State QBs in the NFL. I'd be happy with Young, but his size does concern me. Levis is the best balance of traits/experience/potential in this class, IMO. Get him a good offensive coach who can put together a staff that will develop him and his ceiling is absurdly high.

Rapoport: Tepper to be patient with Rhule
Jay Roosevelt replied to kungfoodude's topic in Carolina Panthers
Zero reason to fire Rhule before the season is over. Best case is to let him dig his own grave and get us as high a pick as possible next draft. -
The Hottest Seat in the NFL - Canfora on Rhule
Jay Roosevelt replied to Paa Langfart's topic in Carolina Panthers
People think CMC's contract makes him impossible to trade, but that can always be manipulated. -
CMC limited in practice (ankle) but expected to play
Jay Roosevelt replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Trade him to Buffalo for a 1st rounder. He'd put them over the top for sure. I guarantee you they'd be willing to part with the 32nd pick for him. -
Will this franchise ever have an "offense minded" head coach
Jay Roosevelt replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Shane Steichen would be a great hire. -
Dude chose the game over his family. That's rough.

Tepper won't have to 'try' to tank; just leave things as they are until the end of the season. We're already on that trajectory and they can't punish Tepper for just leaving things as they are.
-
Rhule won't be fired this early in the season. Tepper will use the opportunity to tank and get as high a draft pick as possible and fire Rhule either after the season or very late in the year.
-
Will Levis has impressed me more as a pro prospect than any other QB this year.

Best and worst PFF grades Week 2

Rookie. Give him time. -
Marquan Mccall needs more snaps.

Rhule says his toes aren't far enough apart to play DT. He wants him to lose 70 pounds and be our 3rd down pass rush specialist. -
Dream HC/OC/DC Combination For Next Year?(Week 2 Edition)
Jay Roosevelt replied to Asaria's topic in Carolina Panthers
A young offensive minded HC who calls plays + an older coach with plenty of experience at DC. Shane Steichen + Vic Fangio would be interesting. -
I worry Joe Burrow is going to get Cam Newton'd by the Bengals organization.
-
Man... as bad a coach as Matt Rhule is Nathaniel Hackett might be even worse

I care about the long-term, yes. But anything in the short-term is whatever.

Tally of Everyone Who Believed in Rhule
Jay Roosevelt replied to PantherNation123's topic in Carolina Panthers
I thought it was worth a shot to make an outside the box hire for once. But I did begin to worry once Rhule started putting his staff together and I had no idea Tepper would be so stubborn and stick with him despite all the evidence of him being in over his head. -
I believed in Baker. But I was wrong. Also, the OL sucks ass.
Jay Roosevelt replied to Proudiddy's topic in Carolina Panthers
Ickey will be fine. He just needs time and experience. Just look at Andrew Thomas for the Giants. Took him 2-3 years to develop into a top-tier LT. The worst decision we can make would be to bench or move him and short-circuit that process. -

I can't fathom why we're not throwing to CMC more than we are. -
Will Levis. That is all.
