Let's play "I could be a better GM than Scott Fitterer"

I think it's pretty clear it was directed at the fans and armchair GMs who are already calling him a bust. -

Or all of the above. -
Steve Smith put out a video recently discussing the Panthers and Bryce and mentioned the second INT and how the defender was able to make that play because Ian Thomas was supposed to be drawing the coverage, but because the defender didn't respect Ian's abilities as a receiver underneath he was able to drift back and make the play.

I'd be for it. Chinn is only playing 15-20 snaps a game; we clearly don't have a fit for him here and he's always been overrated anyway. Not a huge Jerry Jeudy fan, but he's probably a short-term upgrade over TMJ/Mingo with some upside to be more.

Oh, of course. Jacobs might be the best power runner in the league other than Derrick Henry.

What's his contract like? -
I mean, it depends. Is he continuing to showing progress? Is his play steadily improving? If so, you give him time to continue developing. If he's not getting any better or getting worse, you probably want to look elsewhere at a certain point, but you still need to give him time. I don't think you can put a strict time table on it. He certainly needs the rest of this season and a good portion of next season as well, hopefully with more talent around him. Considering what we gave up to get him, we'd be crazy to give up on him after half a season or something, especially given the lack of talent around him right now.

Yeah, both have been pleasant surprises so far.

I wouldn't hate it, but I do wonder how much of the Dolphins success on offense is him vs. Mike McDaniel. That said, I thought the same thing when the Dolphins hired McDaniel from the 49ers, where Kyle Shanahan calls plays. Leave it to Tepper to finally hire an offensive HC only to get the one with the most conservative, vanilla approach to offense we've had since the John Fox era.

The Raiders might have an even worse run game than ours, somehow.

Terrace Marshall and Jeremy Chinn

I saw him rushing to catch Sam LaPorta on that TD reception. -
PFF grades vs Lions (Bryce in bottom 5 yet again)
Jay Roosevelt replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
But is he an inside linebacker? Because in our scheme he basically has to be if he's going to play linebacker. I don't think so; he's clearly a 4-3 outside linebacker, which means we don't really have a spot for him. This is why I'm not a fan of "tweener" athletes in the draft like him and Isaiah Simmons. Versatility is great if you've got one set position you can play well and can do other things from that position; otherwise you're just a guy who does a little bit of everything well enough but not anything at a high level. -

I'm a huge Bryce supporter, but I will admit I thought he'd be playing better than this early on. But I also thought this was his best game so far. PFF graded him a lot better against the Vikings, but I'll take the two picks if it means not handling him with kid gloves the way we did in his first few starts. -

How is Thielen the fastest of the bunch? -
I agree with some of this, but at the same time it does come off as a little out of touch. The only thing that makes me have ANY doubt that Fitterer should be gone is the fact that I'm not sure how many of his mistakes were truly his. How many were forced - or "suggested" - to him by Rhule and/or Tepper? One thing I will put on him, however, is his complete failure to address our lack of ANY OL DEPTH during the offseason. We knew from the start that Corbett would be out for an extended period to start the year and already had little to no depth and the best he can do is draft one guard in the 4th round? I can live with a GM who makes mistakes here and there; that's going to happen. What I cannot STAND is a GM that allows gaping holes to exist on the roster when we have the means to at least attempt to fill them. Having said that, I do agree that Kevin Colbert in a team President role would be a great hire.

How the hell is it that an experienced head coach like Frank Reich has admitted 5 games into the season that he: 1) Forgot Adam Theilen wasn't on the field and called a play that could "only go to him," then had to burn a timeout because of it. 2) "Miscommunicated" for an entire game and forgot to put TMJ on the field. I mean, HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN?!? If you can't get simple poo like this right then how can you ever hope to succeed at this job? I mean damn, at least Rhule had the excuse of having little to no NFL experience.

Certainly glad he's ok, but yeah, the OL improved almost immediately after he left the game.

Maybe 1-4.

Absolutely NO reason to sit Bryce. He just played his best game of the season so far against the toughest opponent we've faced, despite the two picks. For the first time we actually seemed to just run our offense and let him play. It wasn't perfect, but the flashes were there. We have to let him play, gain experience, and learn from the mistakes he's going to make. It's the only way he gets better. This is the stupidest thing I've read all week. Who gives a poo if the pick we gave Chicago ends up being #1 overall or #4 overall? What difference does that actually make for us other than making the panicked portion of the fanbase feel a little better? We're not making the playoffs; we know this now. This season is now 100% about getting Bryce Young as many reps as possible and allowing him to work out the kinks now so that by season's end we have a pretty clear idea of just what we have in him and whether he's improving or not. Starting Andy Dalton now accomplishes what? There's no guarantee that we win anymore games with him than we do with Bryce at QB and we're not making the playoffs regardless, so why delay Bryce's development (or, for those that already think he's a bust, confirmation of that) by starting a guy we KNOW for a fact isn't the answer at QB long-term? -
Calling it - the Bryce Young trade is the worst in team history
Jay Roosevelt replied to TN05's topic in Carolina Panthers
This. It's going to result in a lot more highly-recruited QBs (and players in general, but QBs especially) transferring as well if guys like Caleb Williams stay. It could result in some very interesting decisions for schools and players. Texas has a potential situation like this right now with Quinn Ewers, Maalik Murphy, and Arch Manning. If Ewers doesn't go pro after this year it's going to get very interesting.
