Heres some good in the ocean of awful....
Jay Roosevelt replied to Basbear's topic in Carolina Panthers
The OL's pass blocking has been by far the biggest silver lining so far. That was priority #1 this offseason and it appears our plan actually worked for once. -
The 2025 QB free agents, who would you sign?
Jay Roosevelt replied to Jmac's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'd just assume re-sign Dalton than sign any of them, but I wouldn't mind kicking the tires on Cooper Rush and/or Jarrett Stidham. -
I'm surprised it doesn't come with a bag of poo.

Would quarterbacks avoid Carolina Panthers in NFL Draft?

lol we can't just never draft another QB. -

Disagree. I REALLY like Cam Ward. I liked him at Washington State and he's been even better with Miami so far. I'd 100% draft him with the 1st pick. -

I mean, I get it but it's easy for Florio to tell these other people what decisions they should make regarding their future career. Right now the narrative nationally is that Bryce's failure is 100% on Tepper and the Panthers organization. If/when Andy Dalton comes in and plays much better I think a lot of that will die down as people begin to realize that, along with the many failures the organization made around him, Bryce himself was also just not playing well enough. I also think if Dave Canales can show that he's a good offensive mind and playcaller that will help relieve any anxiety regarding the team from QB prospects. Also, I think the notion of prospects refusing to play for certain teams is overblown. It's only happened a few times ever and there have been some very bad teams picking #1, which BTW, we aren't by any means guaranteed to be picking. It's still just week 3. -
Potential Trade Package for Bryce Young

Although, I would not mind kicking the tires on Aidan O'Connell in a potential trade scenario. He actually showed some real potential last year. -

Grant DuWho now? I'd take a 3rd + a conditional 4th that could become a 1st in 2026 if he plays well. -
Assuming it's done do you select a qb this year or wait?
Jay Roosevelt replied to Panthero's topic in Carolina Panthers
Probably but it's too soon to tell. We don't know what this team looks like with remotely competent QB play. It could be that the receivers end up looking good with Dalton at QB. If the OL continues to improve (they've been solid) and it looks like we've got a some decent options at receiver then it probably makes sense to draft a QB if we're in position. Having said that, I would absolutely look to trade down if we get the #1 pick. If we can move down to #5-8 and still get a QB (Cam Ward is my favorite right now) while picking up some more draft capital that would be great. -
Blindsided? How can anyone NOT have seen this coming? I get they're his family and all, but come on. This clearly had to be done.
-
They didn't need competition; we have one of the better backup QBs in the NFL. Unless they were going to take a QB in the 1st round there was no point in drafting some 3rd round half-measure.
-
Andy Dalton is better than Bryce Young. I think most UFL QBs are at this point. The Panthers are not a QB away, and yes probably are a good 5-6 players away from being competitive, but we are a functional QB away from not being the complete and total embarrassment we've seen the last 2 weeks. The defense will still struggle. We likely won't win more than 3-4 games, but we'll at least be good enough to know where we need to improve to actually be competitive in the long-term. With Bryce we were not going to get a fair evaluation of the receivers, the OL or this coaching staff. Dalton at least gives is that.
-
No doubt this is a Canales decision. Tepper would have never benched Bryce after all we invested in him unless the HC (and possibly the GM as well) came to him and said "this HAS to be done."
-
This is true. No point in playing Dalton now. Either Bryce develops or he continues playing poorly, in which case we end up with a high pick to choose his replacement.
-
I mean, if it turns out that Bryce is THE problem and the solution is finding the right replacement in next year's draft then there is reason for optimism. But it's way too early to tell if that's the case (for good and for bad). And with Tepper's track record I don't know that optimism is on the menu.

About those big money Guards Morgan spent on….
Jay Roosevelt replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Can't blame the OL for last week. Receivers were also open enough for plays to be made. Both of Bryce's INTs were the correct read, just awful - AWFUL - throws. -
The interior OL grades are encouraging at least.

Panthers waive tight end Feleipie Franks

Lucky bastard. -
Someone needs to A.I. some Tepper klan rally videos ASAP.
-
The only way to get any message through to Tepper is to boycott EVERYTHING he touches. That means Panther fans collectively stop buying merch, tickets, stop watching games, stop buying from team sponsors and stop attending any events at the stadium. Make everything else he's involved with suffer as much as this franchise has under his watch. Maybe - MAYBE - then he'll step away and at least hire a caretaker who might know what they're doing.

At this point who even cares? -
Today wasn't on Dave Canales. What do you expect him to do when his QB is playing this way?
