  1. Also if a team is willing to part with a franchise level veteran whos a finished product, they might not be a great product in actuality lol
  2. Like lets play this scenario out. Let's say we win some games, and it turns out something like this. 1. Detroit 2. Houston 3. Philly 4. Houston 5. Seattle 6. Pitt 7. Jacksonville 8. Panthers Young and Stroud go 1/2, Lions and Texans will be taking a QB. Philly isn't taking a QB. Which could also mean if the Texans wanted to be risky, they could take Will Anderson #2, and hope Philly doesnt trade that #3 away, then take their QB at #4. If that happens, and they feel strongly about a QB, you need to trade up. If it goes Young/Stroud 1/2, then you assume the Eagles take Will Anderson, as they want a pass rusher. Then, if the Panthers feel strongly about a QB that isnt someone off the board yet, they need to target moving ahead of Seattle who I assume even with the success of Geno, will be looking for a QB. We see it all the time, obviously having our choice of QB is best, but every team ranks them differently, if our guy is there, you need to trade up and not try and play it "safe" and hope he's there. I think value drafting is good, but not at the QB position, get the guy you like.
  3. It is conflicting lol, but I think we all need to accept that there's a good chance we might need to trade up a few spots to get our guy. If theoretically Young and Stroud go 1 and 2, and say we are around 5-7, and we like Will Levis or someone like that, we need to pony up and jump ahead of any teams that might also be interested in a QB. We could have jumped in front of the Chargers a few years back and selected Herbert, it would have costed probably a future 1st possibly, but honestly if thats that it takes to get their guy, and they feel strongly about it, then they need to pull the trigger. If the QB busts, it's basically a full reset anyways, so what difference does it make. If he turns out to be your franchise guy, then great, you aren't going to be crying over a future draft pick.
  4. Interesting article for sure. I have long said, If I had to guess if Matt Rhule looks back on his Panther's tenure, the decision he probably regrets the most is not trading up to get Herbert. It sounds like everyone loved Herbert in that building, you have to go and get your guy and take the risk, otherwise you really stand no chance at holding the coaching position long term. Granted, Rhule may have botched coaching/developing Herbert, but I feel like a new head coach has to take a shot on a young QB when they get the job, so they can use that honeymoon period to develop him. Then a few years in when you are seriously going to be graded, you should have a rising QB winning you games.
  5. I figured I'd post this, I really have enjoyed his breakdowns, especially the ones leading up to the draft on the prospects.
  6. He doesn't have a major flaw playing wise - its why people say if he was 4-5 inches taller he would probably be mentioned as one of the cant-miss Luck, Manning, Lawrence types. That being said, size is a real factor. There are some QBs that overcome it, like Brees, but its definitely a negative about him. Personally, I think batted balls is less of being a short thing and more having a slow release, or telegraphing your throws too much. I think Josh Allen leads the league in batted balls, or is close, and hes tall. I think theres some real benefits to being tall and seeing the field better. Durability is also another factor, although thats usually more about your frame build vs height.
  7. I don't know about that, I've heard Robbie speak, it sounds exactly like that. He may possibly be on of the dumbest guys in the NFL, and that's saying something. I remember watching him with Cam during his press conference, its like he truly struggles to put his thoughts into a sentence.
  8. I know Bozeman got hurt, but I'm surprised he isn't playing at all. People seemed pretty high on him when we signed him.
  9. It certainly feels that way, I just wonder though, obviously the players will play, but how does an organization start that conversation? Feels like it would be a hard thing to sell Wilks on, he doesn't really gain anything by tanking - just further tarnishing his record as a HC, just to get let go at the end of the season. Same with Fitterer - unless he was given assurances he is being retained regardless of the outcome of the season, which he may have been.
  10. Yeah let’s pair that franchise DE with Burns, we can then lose games 20-10 instead of 24-10. I liked Corral as well, but there’s a reason he was available where he was. He’s not a comparable prospect to any Stroud/Young. If we are are #1, we will absolutely be taking a QB, Corral will be the last thing on the front offices mind. He can still come in and compete, but there’s not a chance he changes their plans.
  11. Lol you don’t pass up on Young/Stroud for Corral, you are out of your mind. That’s exactly how you get stuck without a franchise guy.
  12. I think people are focusing on the wrong thing when talking about his age. It's less about the possible length of his career, and more about how much more he can improve from where he is. He's older, which could mean he is closer to his ceiling than someone younger would be.
  13. Lol I came here to say the same thing. He looks like the real deal. Im pretty excited to watch Levis tonight as well.
  14. This part is interesting, I do remember there being a lot of questioning why he waited through the bye week to fire Brady, when he could have given his new OC another full week to prepare for the transition. Also, I wonder how Brady felt, working all week to hopefully improve the offense, just for your boss to get back from taking his vacation and can you lol.
  15. Obviously a lot depends on how the rest of the season plays out, but I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on Wilkes. Think he has a shot at all in being the next guy? Would you be at all interested in him?
  16. Lol, theres a serious misunderstanding with this fanbase with the value of CMC. Hes a running back with a huge contract who's often injured. He may actually have negative trade value if you were just trying for assets. More likely, you will end up paying a large amount of that contract to move him.
  17. Finally, hopefully we make the right hire. Also, can we not call our next coach Chuck Noll before he ever coaches a game?
  18. Its funny when people compared Pickett to Dalton or Mac Jones athletically. I get it if you have questions as an NFL thrower, or whatever, but as an "athlete", they aren't even in the same category, the whole take is lazy.
