  1. For real. Minshew is better than any QB we have under contract next year and that's not debatable.
  2. https://www.dailynorseman.com/2021/8/24/22640164/the-kings-of-garbage-time A good article on garbage time. Based on this dude's definition, Minshew spent a very very solid chunk of his seasons in Jax in garbage time. Was that his fault or the teams'? The biggest to take from that though, Minshews numbers don't drastically change between garbage time and non-garbage time: His stats are damn near identical in garbage time and non garbage time. Is he a franchise QB? I don't know, but he was the best available option to us last offseason and available for a 6th rounder and we gave up a 2nd, 4th, and 6th for Sam Darnold. Multiple people should be fired for this move alone.
  3. Who I would want: Hackett - Has done a great job in GB and has a ton of links to guys around the league. Could put together a good staff. Apparently a quirky guy but well liked by all. Daboll - Bad first few years as an OC, however looking at the talent he had available, it is no surprise. Took a job down in college for a bit then came back to the NFL Swinging. Bigly involved with the development of Josh Allen and also has a ton of links to a potentially good staff. Eberflus - Only defensive coach I'd be ok with simply because he could bring in Pederson as an OC potentially. Colts D is the truth, it'd be nice to push our team's D over the edge. McDaniels - Say what you want about the guy, dude can put together an offense even without Tom Brady. What he has managed to do with Mac Jones as well as the list of JAGs on offense for the better part of a decade is commendable. Understands a good O-line is important. I believe the first round as a HC humbled him greatly. My biggest issue with him is that he is a Belichick disciple and we all know those rarely work out. No to: Bienemy - Stay away from Reid OCs. Just stay away. Very well could have helped bring the world Patrick Mahomes however Reid calls the plays, always has always will. Also some alleged skeletons in his closet from his past job in Colorado. I believe that will be a media shitstorm if he is hired. Pederson - Take him as an OC any day, but not as a HC. Eagles fell apart at the end and there has never been a HC that has won a super bowl with more than one team. Why believe he could do it? Leftwich - Minimal experience as a coach so his prospects of putting a legit staff together are limited. I don't trust his ability as an OC since the GOAT is carrying their team right now. At least McDaniels has proven he can put together a solid offense without Brady. Leftwich has not been able to do that.
  4. Pickett has tiny hands and I'm not kidding about that scaring me away from him. I think they're like 8 1/4 or something like that which is why he wears gloves. Small hands means large turnovers.
  5. Not enough honestly. The Offense was the biggest issue with the team but Rhule should be gone too.
  6. Each passing day I want Rhule as my team's head coach less and less.
  7. V-E-R-S-A-T-I-L-I-T-Y or some other such bullshit.
  8. If we hire Tom Cable our line will stagnate and will not improve. Dude was DESTROYED by the Seattle fanbase for being a an absolutely terrible line coach. Schottenheimer, also no thank you for similar reasons listed above. I see us letting go of both Brady and Blackburn honestly, and at that point, clean house and get a new coaching staff all together because this one is in over their heads.
  9. More tea needs to be spilled about this party.
  10. Hopefully Sulieman can get squirrely with the cap much in the same way the Saints did this past season where we "extend" Sam converting his salary into smaller increments and adding voidable years to the back end to ease his cap hit. Same thing might work with a few other guys as well. Either way I think we let Donte walk and re-sign gilmore, hopefully to a reasonable contract extension. Reddick we will need to re-sign as well, I'm also a jones fan too. Luvu needs to stay, he's been a little ray of sunshine in an otherwise dark year.
  11. I won't believe he's leaving until he comes out and says he's staying.
  12. For those off the wagon, it is still early and he could turn it around. I hope we don't give him the chance and find someone else to do that though.
  13. With EB, the fact that he is an Andy Reid coordinator gives me pause. Those guys tend to go the same way as Belichick coordinators. Also, there's rumors of some skeletons in his closet from his time at Colorado that might rear their ugly head when he gets a head coaching job.
  14. I think 2001 had something like 5 blowouts with two coming the last two weeks of the season. The team was young and needed a new coach to come in and spark something for them but were still competitive in damn near every loss. So far this year we've already been blown out 4 times, we still have to play the buccs twice and the bills once, and our team seems to be getting worse as the season goes on. This time last year we were at least competitive. 06-12 are a blur for me, I was in college and drank a lot, but I do remember 2007 where Tommy Jone took out our boy and then the shitshow that was the 2009 season where Jake's career finally died, leading to 2010 where we were actively rooting for the team to fail so we could draft Andrew Luck #1 overall, which turned into Cam when Luck stayed in school. This season has the feel of 09 with less hope. At least we had the legend of Matt Moore to keep us interested going into the next year, anticipating that maybe we found ourselves the next Tony Romo. This year we have nothing.
  15. I really don't make threads like this ever, but I am just completely disinterested in this team. I have purchased tickets to at least one home game every year since I moved to the area back in 2014, but I have yet to buy any since 2018. We kept Hurney on board long enough for him to fug up another draft (2019) and dole out a record breaking contract to a RB while said RB was still under contract for two more years only for it to blow up in the team's face (oh wow, deja-vu). We have no long term solution at QB while committing close to 60 million and 3 draft picks on the position since last offseason. The team looks like it is getting worse as the season goes on. We are getting blown out, the offense can't score, and the coaching staff is getting out coached week in and week out. We have very few draft picks for next year because we traded a 2, 4, and 6 for the worst QB in the league as a reclamation project that was DOA; and we are without a 3rd that we traded for a project CB that the coaching staff fell in love with during the 2020 draft. Things looking the way they are, there is little to look forward to in the near future as a Carolina Panthers fan. At least in 2010 we had the #1 pick to pull for with the chance at landing a franchise QB, and the foregone conclusion that Fox would be gone and a new era of coaching would bring new excitement to the team. We are hemorrhaging money and picks at the QB position with absolutely nothing to show for it, our best player is hurt (again), our coaching staff looks out of their depth every week, effort is lackluster from all areas of the team, there are no slam dunk QB prospects available in the coming draft, our offensive line is in shambles, and it seems like we are going to give Matt Rhule another year as HC while other candidates with better NFL Resumes will grab HC jobs to breathe life into downtrodden fanbases. Rebuilds don't have to take this long in the NFL. Look at the Rams, Browns, Chargers, Tennessee, Buffalo, and Dallas for examples of new coaches getting results within 2 years of being hired. What do we have to root for on Sundays now? The corpse of Cam Newton? A rookie RB who looks... decent? WRs that can't get open? An Offensive Line that can't block for crap? A Defense getting manhandled in the run game week in and week out? A very bad Special teams unit? We are on a downward trend and I don't have the optimism I've had in the past that things are going to get better. It seems like every choice we have made since Tepper took over has been the wrong choice that results in the worst possible outcome. I am not a fair weather fan, I will always root for this team, but I just can't invest the time or money into a franchise striving for incompetence like the Panthers seem to be.
  16. She honestly could have been talking about CMC's injury for all we know.
  17. Hacket McDaniels Moore Daboll I'm good with any of them. I'm done with Rhule. I want something new. John Fox 3.0 (2.0 was Rivera). Please please please. Please. Please.
  18. I normally roll my eyes at BigKat threads but honestly, I feel the same way right about now. McDaniels was honestly #1 at the top of my list of who I wanted us to hire two years ago. I think he learned a lot from his first go round with Denver and it humbled him greatly. But whatever, we're stuck with Rhule now.
  19. Moton usually looks damn good but even he looked like hot garbage yesterday.
  20. This team sucks and I'm done with this staff. Hit the reset button. Get a new HC, preferably a young offensive mind.
