  1. I think we vets are tired of the losing man. I've been a member of the huddle since 2009. Been through the end of the Fox era and the end of the Rivera era. I remember everything that happened last year which is why I was optimistic for the season going into 2021. If we were able to be competitive with the poo team that we had in 2020, we should be much improved with more offseason and a better team thrown together with a new GM. Saying all that, there were 4 new head coaches that were in the same boat as Rhule was last year. Comparing our team's success to the other 4 new head coaches from last year, Rhule has been the worst of the 5. He is being out coached by Kevin Stefanski, coach of the perpetual joke of the Browns who won 1 more game in 2019 than the Panthers before the two coaches took over. Year one he went to the playoffs, we won 5 games. Mike McCathy sucked year one, division leaders year two. Rivera, playoffs year one with a worse QB situation and Playoff contention year two with our QB backup castoff. Joe Judge - not great, won't lie. However his team whooped our ass and he has the same amount of wins as the panthers in the same time frame, and his team is being competitive while doing it. We seem to getting worse, and we seem to be getting worse as a direct relation to the choices that Rhule and his staff have made since his hiring. If we were still 5-7 and we seemed to be competitive we would be frustrated but not miserable and disinterested like we are now. Instead we have little hope for the future based on the staff's past moves, the state of the QB situation, and our lack of top 100 draft picks in the upcoming draft. I'm just ready to stop sucking and the current trend does not show this changing any time soon under Rhule.
  2. I want to believe, but it looks like Gross' arms are an inch longer - 33.25 compared to 32.25
  3. We don't have Jack Easterby? That's all I've got.
  4. OK roster was dildos when he got it. He then turned around and did dildos moves with it by trading for Sam Darnold. That could be forgiven if the rest of the team didn't look inept and they weren't getting out coached, just beaten. Last year we were in damn near every game we played so expectations were that some of those 8 one score games would flip the other way to a W. Instead we aren't as competitive and we are getting blown out week in and week out. With an improved roster from his first season, we look worse than we did last year. That points to poor coaching.
  5. No No, guys he has a point Matt Rhule has: Never been beaten by the same team 3 times in on season Never lost an NFC Championship Never lost an AFC Championship Never lost the Super Bowl Never lost a single post season game
  6. Depends on how badly we lose to Atlanta. I honestly expect us to win this week because Atlanta has been pretty bad and our defensive strengths match their offensive weaknesses pretty well.
  7. Alright so I'll give my perspective. At this point year two of the Rivera Rebuild we were 3-9, compared to 5-7 that we are at this point this year. These records do not detail the whole story. Of the 9 losses with Rivera, 7 were one score losses, showing that the team was actually competitive. Of our 7 losses this year, 3* were one score losses with the other 4 being complete blowouts. Under Rivera we also drafted two consecutive rookies of the year with Newton and Kuechly so we were set at the QB position for the foreseeable future and that was hype. As the team wasn't winning, we also realized that Rivera didn't have complete roster control and that was Hurney's responsibility. We got rid of him in the middle of the season and that gave the fans some hope that now that Hurney was gone he couldn't tank the team anymore with horrible contracts and terrible day two drafting. Rhule has full control of the roster and has seemed to make the roster worse each year he has been here. Rhule's first year he used double speak and got rid of our franchise QB his first offseason here pissing a lot of fans off. Then he brought in a crappy QB in Teddy bridgewater to replace Cam and Teddy was underwhelming. Then he traded for the WORST starting QB in the NFL from the jets giving up 3 picks in the process. So going into year three with each coach, we are on the upswing with Rivera and the downswing with Rhule. The guy that put the underwhelming roster of 2012 together has gotten the boot, and the guy who put together the underwhelming roster of 2021 is still under contract and looking like he's going to meddle even more. With Rivera we have two picks in the first 3 rounds, with Rhule we have one pick in the first three rounds (top 100 players in the draft). We have one QB under contract and he is historically one of the worst QBs in the NFL. The Offensive line, while no gem under Rivera, is even worse under Rhule who valued versatility over actually being good at any one position. On top of it all, the team looks like they just don't give a poo under Rhule whereas the team looked like they actually cared about playing for Rivera. Most of us were willing to give Rivera one more shot with a new GM and the hope that he would stop being so damn conservative. Rhule has used up every ounce of grace by tanking the offense, hiring guys who aren't NFL caliber coaches across the board, and getting outcoached the second half of the season week in and week out. It was different. It is different. It looks pretty obvious that Rhule is out of his element. Could he turn it around in year 3 like Rivera? Maybe. All trends are pointing down though, and the Fans are sick of watching this team flounder around in mediocrity due to a college coach being out of his element.
  8. Heinecke couldn't stay healthy so we moved on. That doesn't bother me. Trading 3 draft picks for the worst QB in the NFL and immediately picking up his 5th year option when a solid if not spectacular starter could be had for a 6th while still on his rookie contract is available is more egregious to me personally. It essentially becomes a trade of Teddy Bridgewater for Gardner Minshew at that point, and I believe that Minshew is a step up from Bridgewater personally.
  9. He is if you have a young guy waiting in the wings to learn from him. Fitz + rookie is 1000x better than whatever we're going to be doing with Matt Rhule at the helm next season.
  10. For real. Minshew is better than any QB we have under contract next year and that's not debatable.
  11. https://www.dailynorseman.com/2021/8/24/22640164/the-kings-of-garbage-time A good article on garbage time. Based on this dude's definition, Minshew spent a very very solid chunk of his seasons in Jax in garbage time. Was that his fault or the teams'? The biggest to take from that though, Minshews numbers don't drastically change between garbage time and non-garbage time: His stats are damn near identical in garbage time and non garbage time. Is he a franchise QB? I don't know, but he was the best available option to us last offseason and available for a 6th rounder and we gave up a 2nd, 4th, and 6th for Sam Darnold. Multiple people should be fired for this move alone.
  12. Who I would want: Hackett - Has done a great job in GB and has a ton of links to guys around the league. Could put together a good staff. Apparently a quirky guy but well liked by all. Daboll - Bad first few years as an OC, however looking at the talent he had available, it is no surprise. Took a job down in college for a bit then came back to the NFL Swinging. Bigly involved with the development of Josh Allen and also has a ton of links to a potentially good staff. Eberflus - Only defensive coach I'd be ok with simply because he could bring in Pederson as an OC potentially. Colts D is the truth, it'd be nice to push our team's D over the edge. McDaniels - Say what you want about the guy, dude can put together an offense even without Tom Brady. What he has managed to do with Mac Jones as well as the list of JAGs on offense for the better part of a decade is commendable. Understands a good O-line is important. I believe the first round as a HC humbled him greatly. My biggest issue with him is that he is a Belichick disciple and we all know those rarely work out. No to: Bienemy - Stay away from Reid OCs. Just stay away. Very well could have helped bring the world Patrick Mahomes however Reid calls the plays, always has always will. Also some alleged skeletons in his closet from his past job in Colorado. I believe that will be a media shitstorm if he is hired. Pederson - Take him as an OC any day, but not as a HC. Eagles fell apart at the end and there has never been a HC that has won a super bowl with more than one team. Why believe he could do it? Leftwich - Minimal experience as a coach so his prospects of putting a legit staff together are limited. I don't trust his ability as an OC since the GOAT is carrying their team right now. At least McDaniels has proven he can put together a solid offense without Brady. Leftwich has not been able to do that.
  13. Pickett has tiny hands and I'm not kidding about that scaring me away from him. I think they're like 8 1/4 or something like that which is why he wears gloves. Small hands means large turnovers.
  14. Not enough honestly. The Offense was the biggest issue with the team but Rhule should be gone too.
  15. Each passing day I want Rhule as my team's head coach less and less.
  16. V-E-R-S-A-T-I-L-I-T-Y or some other such bullshit.
  17. If we hire Tom Cable our line will stagnate and will not improve. Dude was DESTROYED by the Seattle fanbase for being a an absolutely terrible line coach. Schottenheimer, also no thank you for similar reasons listed above. I see us letting go of both Brady and Blackburn honestly, and at that point, clean house and get a new coaching staff all together because this one is in over their heads.
  18. More tea needs to be spilled about this party.
  19. Hopefully Sulieman can get squirrely with the cap much in the same way the Saints did this past season where we "extend" Sam converting his salary into smaller increments and adding voidable years to the back end to ease his cap hit. Same thing might work with a few other guys as well. Either way I think we let Donte walk and re-sign gilmore, hopefully to a reasonable contract extension. Reddick we will need to re-sign as well, I'm also a jones fan too. Luvu needs to stay, he's been a little ray of sunshine in an otherwise dark year.
  20. I won't believe he's leaving until he comes out and says he's staying.
  21. For those off the wagon, it is still early and he could turn it around. I hope we don't give him the chance and find someone else to do that though.
  22. With EB, the fact that he is an Andy Reid coordinator gives me pause. Those guys tend to go the same way as Belichick coordinators. Also, there's rumors of some skeletons in his closet from his time at Colorado that might rear their ugly head when he gets a head coaching job.
  23. I think 2001 had something like 5 blowouts with two coming the last two weeks of the season. The team was young and needed a new coach to come in and spark something for them but were still competitive in damn near every loss. So far this year we've already been blown out 4 times, we still have to play the buccs twice and the bills once, and our team seems to be getting worse as the season goes on. This time last year we were at least competitive. 06-12 are a blur for me, I was in college and drank a lot, but I do remember 2007 where Tommy Jone took out our boy and then the shitshow that was the 2009 season where Jake's career finally died, leading to 2010 where we were actively rooting for the team to fail so we could draft Andrew Luck #1 overall, which turned into Cam when Luck stayed in school. This season has the feel of 09 with less hope. At least we had the legend of Matt Moore to keep us interested going into the next year, anticipating that maybe we found ourselves the next Tony Romo. This year we have nothing.
